Trains Over Tehachapi | Union Pacific | BNSF | Foreign Power | Leasers | 3/30-31/24

Over Easter weekend of 2024 a group of 6 of us headed down to Tehachapi to photograph the parade of trains on the UP Mojave Subdivision. On the morning of 3/30 there was snow on the ground in Tehachapi and the first scenes show the BNSF Edwards helpers shoving a stalled UP train out of town. The weekend action is mainly concentrated on locations between Sandcut and Marcel.
UP and BNSF put on a show that was about equal, with many trains coming over the pass from both railroads. BNSF brought power variety, NS and KCS power, a Ferromex SD70ACe, and even the BNSF 4729 "Frankenbonnet" are all views snaking their way around the railroad's many curves. Several trains are seen passing under and over themselves at Tehachapi Loop, and many meets are seen at Woodford with both BNSF and UP trains.
