Often referred to as “Europe’s #1 Rock Show,” Countdown was on-the-air for 16 years (1977-1993), and was broadcast in 18 countries, making it one of the most successful music shows in the history of television.
The archive contains over 3,000 hours of musical performances, interviews and concert appearances by the greatest rock, R&B, pop, new wave and rap/hip-hop artists of the era, including: Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, U2, Michael Jackson, The Police, David Bowie, Beastie Boys, George Harrison, Billy Joel, Whitney Houston, Run-DMC, Depeche Mode, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Blondie, The Cure, R.E.M., and thousands more.
Reelin’ In The Years Productions has available for licensing over 20,000 hours of music footage spanning 90 years. Too cool! I live probably 90 miles from them and never seen them outside of the arena.
Though one time I swear I almost bumped into Tyler on a side street in Portland Maine. He was in drag trying to be incognito. Liv Tyler and her mother BB Buel lived here at the time before Liv was famous. One of my bands opened for her band BB Buel and the Blackhearts.

Love these two guys. So, I went and listened to "I'm a Man", and it didn't sound anything like the way Steven sang it. He's a silly willi boy.
Wow just wow. None of that stupid lip syncing that most of the Bands on that dumb countdown show did. Amazing talent. Do you think those people knew that was Steven f****** Tyler himself. I had to watch that twice.
Cynthia Choi agreed! And in addition to no lip syncing there was no auto tuning, just 2 genuine articles, to masters of music doing what they do. And kudos to the restraint of those gathered around them. I’d have squeezed with glee just before passing out lolol.
