Man the 80s were the best times
60's were a blast.
Yes they were. 👍😎👍
@@tonys1210 К СОЖАЛЕНИЮ, ЧТО БЫЛИ
Not really.
I concur says this 80s girl 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cartoons and then Bandstand- Saturday morning in early 80s
Take me back!!
The BEST times!!
Yes sir . Every Saturday morning. After football. Jr. Pro football lol
American Bandstand brought the world the greatest genre of music and talent
This is funny....they are timeless and they had no idea back then the journey ahead and the millions of records they would sell..Love them❤🥰
Oh boy they had no clue...Life was about to take a HUGE turn for them.
I was 13 living outside of Boston, fast forward to 1987 and I was living in Hawaii and went to the very last show of the Slippery When Wet tour.,
Too bad this wasn’t a live performance. It’s a lip sync of the studio recording. Terrible. 👍🏻✌🏻
I knew theyd be a hit first time i heard them Still love them
I remember seeing this when it aired. I was 13 and thought he was the most Beautiful man I'd ever seen 😊
No te equivocaste es el más guapo y hermoso de todos!!! ❤
I agree! I was also 13! And still a fan!
Richie was cuter
Ditto!
He still is!! He has aged very well! And kept the same wife too!!
R.I.P Alec John Such
The 80s were the best time in history to be growing up.
Not really the 60s with the British invasion and the 70s were the best years from music the greatest bands
@@harryking9674Yes 70's to. Boston, Elton, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac man I was born in 1970 and by the time I could walk and talk I was jumping off our couch onto the pillows on the floor doing front flips to all my Mother's 45's dam wish we could go back and do again then the 80's came a lot of good bands like 'The Car's, Madonna The Cure that's when the Girls started happening ! 👍
Totally agree graduated from h.s in 1985
Not really 90s were much better bill Clinton was ten times better than jelly bean boy lol
The 80s had the best concerts for sure!
This footage is historic
I was a senior in 1984 and I can't count how many times I've seen them live! Love that Jon serves his community after all his success! I dated a guy who was a few years older, played guitar in a band and he had Bon Jovi hair, lol! Man those were the days!
Indeed 💯 ❤
I was a Senior also Class of 84
This is a promising band. I think they’re going to make it big.
🤔
Lol
😂
🤭🤭🤭🤭
Just 2 years later they penned “Wanted Dead Or Alive” greatest rock ballad on the planet!🤘
I wouldn't consider Wanted Dead or Alive a ballad.
They changed a lot in those 2 years....Jon got much less gawky and clumsy on stage. They definitely got cooler....Style and substance improved a lot.
@@7Earthsky 100%🤘
The 80s were the best and American bandstand was a great show and never missed it. What a treasure and thank you TH-cam and technology. This is with Bon Jovi back in the day! Love you, Dick Clark, and rest in peace and love you, Bon Jovi and the gang still rockin! ❤
BonJovi its never to late to discover them.
They’re all so young & cute on this show! So very long ago…I miss the 80s!
I remember listening to Bon Jovi cruising in my 1985 IROC-Z, class of 85!
So young and cute 🥰 Richie!!! The clothes ! The perms! Miss the 80s! All those who say Jon doesn’t have a good voice, can go and eat dust.
But he was the one who coined Steve Perry as ‘the Voice’. Jon was humble enough about his talent to be able and willing to praise others. Admirable of him.
sooo many great Hair bands in 80s - Cinderella, Europe , Ratt, Quiet Riot, Journey, the list is endless
So Blessed to have been growing up in the 80s. ♥️🎵🙌🎸✨️
I had just turned 13 when this aired. It's one of my "go to" songs on my ride home from work, to this day....and I'm 50 yrs old!
The 80s were the best ever!!! The best time of my life!!! One of the best bands of the 80s!!! Great rock band!!!❤❤❤...
I love the 80s was so lucky to grow up in this era John bonjovi was my favorite band ❤️. Love him till the end and beyond ❤️.
It's funny how we never realized they were all lipsyncing back in the day😂😂😂😂
Some of the best memories in music.
Miss AB and dick Clark 😢🎵🎶🎤
I remember wondering why they didn't speak into the mic theybwere just singing through haha. The doors ruined it on ed Sullivan bye saying "high"
However, no Arsenio Hall's show years later the bands played live, and it was loud. LOL
No instruments were plugged in. 😉
Come on now they should have millions of 👍 get with it! They are awesome’. ❤😅😊
Ha this made me smile...sum great memories!! Saw them in concert several times, and they rocked tha house! Wish I could go back...the clothes, the big hair, the bad azz fast cars and the music!🤘
Seen this and thinking, the signers cute but cocky. 30+ yrs later, still playing and helping his community and still looking good.
Which one's the signer
1984 wjat an incredible year..
Mark Goodman was talking about how funny this is on Sirius today so I had to look it up. Great album. I was in Jr High when this album came out. Saw them twice in 89 with Skid Row.
That's why I'm here. 😂
You were listening to the same show I was I was doing my UPS route when I heard the same thing that’s why I came here to check it out. Nothing really funny that I saw though.
@@John-w2w2q true, I really liked them and still do. I thought this was awesome, other than it being not live, lip syncing at its best, and not a cord plugged in for the guitars or mic, but hey, that was the awesome 80's.
“She Don’t Know me” was actually my first fav song by BJ. Found out later it’s one of if not the only song Jon and the band didn’t write?? I can’t remember if they played it when they opened up for the Scorpions but I know I haven’t heard it played live after that? I’m going out on a limb and saying these two songs on AB were 100% lip synced. I’m so glad they left that behind as that’s when Jon’s voice was incredible! I hope this cutting edge surgery he had on his chords helped him. I know he was pretty upset but Father Time gets even the best singers.”
I really enjoyed rewatching this. I remember watching this back in my childhood hood. I’ve always had a crush on Bon Jovi. 😍😂
1984 I was 15 going on 16 what an awesome time looking at this ugly world that we live in now can I go back to 1980 and it's relive it all over and stay there
They are FOREVER LEGENDARY! ♥️♥️♥️ Man I love them!!!!
Fast-forward to 2024 and still jamming this 🎸🎶🎶🎶
05:21 Didn't know that was how Richie joined the band, how awesome!
Crazy...I remember when this aired....
❤me too❤ I was 19
He toured with the Scorpions that summer (‘84) as their warmup band. I got to see him when he played in Charlevoix, Michigan. Absolutely ELECTRIC. He almost stole the show. We had close seats too! Back then you could get concert tickets for $12-15. Good times!!!
Man i miss the 80"s & 90's. Such a great time to grow up in. Love these jeresy boys as well. Much love from Kentucky!!
Great footage. I was 12 yrs old at this time and fully in to MTV. I bought this album that same year, but somehow missed this AB appearance. Great to watch!
I watched this performance the day it aired, awesome!!!😊
The TV host said "Sounds like a French Band". He never thought that they would change the world a couple of years later.
That’s Dick Clark.
Young but stars even back then.
I love how Jon said that his band is opening up for The Scorpions. Who knew that just a few years later Bon Jovi would be the headliner band? I also like how Jon introduced David by his real name, David Rashbaum.
We had the Best Bands! & Bon Jovi was definitely an all Time Favorite for most of us Xers. Loved American Bandstand
Great🎵 Music 🎶
Awesome Band
💥💥💥💥💥
Great hair styles!
After hearing their hit song Runaway on the radio I went out and bought the cassette tape which I still have to this day. Also while at work back in 83 I was the fourth caller to my local radio station and won two tickets to see them perform live at a night club on US 1 in NJ just as they were starting their career. Forgot the name of the club but it was a great time. Miss the 80's!
Seems like forever ago. Yet it brings me back like it was yesterday. ~ I will forever love you Bon Jovi. My very early teenage years when I was just becoming women. Jon Bon Jovi was my first true love, although he never quite knew it. lol But that young girl turned into a women one day and she got to meet him and the band. Yes, that was me and it was the highlight of my entire life. Never will forget these amazing memories and all the concerts I want to. ~ Forever in my heart. 🩷
I always loved the Runaway song! ♥️🌟👋
my favorite during my high school years!!! 1987 baby 😊 Jon and Ritchie Sambora ❤
I love each one of them. I wonder how they felt lipsyncing that whole thing. Still love it.
Getting signed to a major label, having hit radio songs, going on world tours, videos being shown on MTV & performing on Dick Clark’s “American Bandstand”…Wow!!!
I know right who would ever think it possible with an uncle head of a major recording studio…it’s mostly who ya know, ya know?
❤😂 Married my wife in 1984 and I was a senior in high school back then.. what an awesome song I lived it!!!..... Peace ✌️ out WARRIOR 💯
I saw them in 1984 backing up The Scorpions and I kind of died. 🥰
I saw them open for RATT. They didn't do "she dont know me" I was mad
Great wonderful memories I grew up on ❤❤thank you for the reminder
Notice that when Jon introduces Bryan David, the band's keyboardist, he uses Bryan's real last name.
I noticed
Love this song and video ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nothing like the 80s
I don't even care about the lip synching, I still love it. They were so cool, Jon and his "holey" shirt is classic. These were great times.
99% of stars lip-syched on that Program,.Van Halen as well~
RIP Alec.
Incredible start!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
Always loved Bon Jovi ❤️🎤💯❤️🔥🎤

That's the great Tim Pierce on that guitar solo...
Got to admit.. They were pretty tight. Remember when this came on the stage. Fresh, new, big hair, great pants !! 😅 Time goes by fast.. Thank you Maynard James..
1 of my favorite bands ❤ yall please do 1 more tour .. the world needs good music again !!
Love this video of the star band! Always enjoyed Dick Clark show especially when Bon Jovi band was entertaining everyone! ♥️🌟👋
The lead solo was actually played by Tim Pierce on the album’s recording studio.
I love this song and group! Very talented and very good looking! ❤😊

When this aired my dad had just graduated highschool and became an uncle, and my mom had just moved from new york times fly
I love Bon Jovi
My favorite group since I was a teenager and still is ❤
I wore that exact shirt to Applebee's last week
First time seeing them was opening for Ratt at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis in 1985. Great show! Hard to believe almost 40 years ago!
Pronouncing "Bon Jovi" in a French way is a stroke of genius. I will from now on always pronounce the band name this way.
They did a great job of lip synchronization to their studio recording! 👏
Bon talked this girl from jumping off of some crazy bridge in New York and he was just happening to be walking by. Cahoots to Him. I now respect him. He saved her life and is now a real hero to me!
I remember seeing this. I was 9 in 84
I love bon Jovi yes the 80s were awesome awesome time❤❤
John’s top and the way he’s dancing around… things sure changed before the 2nd album!
I had this on vinyl. I had their second album on cassette tape.
Man they came out kicking hard God bless us all 💕🙏
La magia de Jon,desde el principio,el lider de Bon Jovi,el todo , con su calida voz y esa belleza incomparable...... Maravilloso Jon Bon Jovi ,te amo desde siempre❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I saw Bon Jovi open for Ratt in 1985. 7800 degrees Fahrenheit. Was there new lp. I liked it. But they hit it big time after that. I still love this song.
Aired right before my birthday.

Runaway es una estupenda canción, no entiendo porque a los chicos de Bon Jovi ya no les gusta, es perfecta. 👌👌
I loved watching American Bandstand! I was a 70's watcher, some 80's. It was all good!
