    Smart owner, looks like it’s been Krowned, rust checked, oil sprayed or something. No rust underneath, and you sound Canadian ( you also used,kilometres) so you know how these trucks rust. makes it easier wrenching too, I imagine.

      9L3Z 9J279 C was the number on this truck but you should confirm by the vin number as there are a few different ones depending on the wheel base and tank size.

    I don't know why some of you guys making videos on working on gas tanks you don't drop the drive shaft gives you so much more room to work on the tops of the tank. it doesn't take that long

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did drop the back section of the drive shaft in this video. Really the only way you can get in there between the muffler and tank.

    I started having a p0451 code on my 2014 f150 5.0 with 115k miles several months ago and I would clean the cap less fuel area and clear the code and it would go away for a few months then come back on. Well I done this several times but now the code will clear but then immediately come back. I don’t have a high dollar scanner like yours but I wonder if it wasn’t the fuel cap less fitting at all but something else like this problem. From what I understand it can be 4 or 5 different parts for this one code

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct it could be a sticky purge or vent solenoid, line leaking, skewed pressure sensor or the capless system leaking. There are many economical scanners out there that will read data and do testing. Check out Thinkdiag

    Nice video. Does the customer get to keep the fuel line that you did not use?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess if he really wants it he can have it for sure. I did keep it though as it might come in handy one day...

    I broke my vent valve hose connector can i just leave it or is it important that i repair it?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you don't fix it and it leaks it will fail the evap test and illuminate the mil. It should run fine though.

      Since I've never used Forscan I can't answer for sure but I think so. It appears to be pretty capable software.

    Would it be easier to just take off the bed if I don't have a lift

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The tank is at least one third under the cab so I'm not sure how accessible that line is from the top. You will also need at least 3 people to lift the box, 4 preferred. Good luck and let me know how you fare.
