I had cos squared 30 - sin squared 30 then I used special angles

Good evening sir
Why is sin 45 = root 2 over 2 instead of root 2 over 1 according our triangle because opposite site is 1 and hypo site is root 2??
The other method where you draw something like a cast diagram where you write special angles doesn’t work for me 😔

Sir I have a question , on 21:11 why in this case did we write it as cos49 instead of breaking it down using the compound angle formula ?
Same question on the cos(79 - 49)...
