      @@tiagoj8020 Yes, I've been very happy with the EGO Pole Saw attachment. The battery still seems to hold as much power as the day I purchased it, and last just as long. I can't believe its been 2 years already!

    Great video. Bought mine because of your review. Works fantastic. I used it with a 7.5a battery(heavy) but adjusted the handle for balance. Cut about 50 3” trees for 4 hours. Worked great but now blade is dull just saw your harbor freight sharpening video. I recommend buying a second chain. Hard to find. Order online.

    I love my Kobalt Pole Saw - 80-volt - 5-ah battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Saw. No cable. Using an Oregon Bar and Chain. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees in the woods of our 20-acre farm. I carry it all over our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front. I am also using (2) Kobalt 80 volt 18" Bar Chainsaw and using the 5 AH Batteries. Cuts huge logs great. The first one wound up in a puddle and stopped working but after a couple of weeks and it had dried out, it started working again.

    Jeff, loved your video. Thank you for just getting to the point and not feeling like you need to be funny and "entertaining". I come here for no frills no gimmicks content. That aside, i'm new to the ego family after having just bought my first home a few months ago. So Just last week i bought the Ego lawnmower, trimmer and blower. I'm looking at this saw attachment. So I don't even need to buy the whole unit, just the saw and pole since it's compatible with the Ego trimmer i just bought last week?

    I have an older ego weed eater and blower that both use the same battery. And a self propelled mower with the bigger battery. I need a pole saw now and saw how the new weed eater is so much easier to feed string. I'm jelly! But the pole saw is what I need now and thanks for the video. Btw to clear the tops of those trees did you have a sky lift or something? especially the apple tree.

    How long does it take until the oil seeps out of the reservoir so that it drips down the entire handle and makes it slick?

    • @TinkerForward
      @TinkerForward  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had oil drip down out of the reservoir at all, simply lubes the chain.

    What’s the total length with the extension? Thanks

    • @zaineridling
      @zaineridling 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In other comments, he said it is 94 inches (almost 8 feet), and with the 31-inch extension, that would put it at 10.4 feet. At 5:35 he adds the extension and stands next to it, estimating about 10 feet. This would be equivalent to most commercial pole saws.

    Looks great Jeff. Thanks. I’m enjoying the trimmer and edger but haven’t purchased the saw and extension yet. Is it very heavy? I have found the trimmer etc quite weighty and found the shoulder strap useful because of that. Is the pole saw attachment very heavy?

      Thanks for watching! I'm glad you're enjoying the trimmer and edger! I have really enjoyed using the pole saw with the extension. It has some weight to it but it is not overly heavy. The shoulder strap is a big help to reduce weight on my arms. I would highly recommend it!

      Malcolm, I thought i was just being wimpy but I also found the trimmer a bit heavy! When you're trying to make precision cuts and hold the thing steady to not destroy big patches of grass accidentally, your arm gets a workout!

  • @noelv1976
    @noelv1976 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I must be doing something wrong. The saw starts smoking every time I make any cuts. Have you had any experience with that? I'm using the Ego premium bar and chain lubricant

    • @TinkerForward
      @TinkerForward  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make sure you have enough chain lubricant in the chamber and make sure you have a sharpened chain as a dull chain can make it harder to cut and might also be causing it to smoke because its working harder than it needs to. I bought a Harbor Freight Chainsaw Sharpener to sharpen the blade myself and did a video on it here: th-cam.com/video/Y5aX0gCVyoM/w-d-xo.html

    Can you add two extension poles together to make it longer?

    • @TinkerForward
      @TinkerForward  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joel, technically it has the same connection port so you could use more than one extension but on EGOs website it says not to use more than one extension pole. (My guess is it gets harder to maneuver the longer the pole is made.)

  • @danidani7401

    Hi Jeff, how do you store your EGO 10-Inch Pole Saw when you are not using it? we have oil leaking and wondered if maybe we just need to store it in a different manner? we were storing it flat.

    • @zaineridling
      @zaineridling 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Drain the oil, all the oil. Then store with a flat pan under the head, such as a cookie sheet pan or small pizza pan. (FYI, all pole saws do this if the oil isn't drained. It's not unique to EGO.)

    I wish they had made the pole saw as powerful as the stand alone chainsaws.

    • @zaineridling
      @zaineridling 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They could do that, but it would also weigh so much more that it would be very difficult to handle.

  • @wharrison7131
    @wharrison7131 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If you can reach limbs from the ground the saw seems to be fine but don’t expect to climb a ladder with this thing. Way too heavy.

    • @zaineridling
      @zaineridling 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would want the EP7500 extension. Besides, ladders and saws are a bad idea.

    Poor review. We got to listen to the music you like, and watch you cut logs. One of the things that aggravated me was how you kept the camera almost exclusively on the top, where the chain saw is, and more or less assumed everybody understood how the attachment at the other end works. I didn't and don't.
    Also, twice you talked about putting it in position two (and didn't show what you were talking about) on the trimmer. What trimmer ? The hedge trimmer ? The edge trimmer ? Weren't they detached ? Confusing.
    I'll look for a reviewer that doesn't assume we already know how to set it up.

    • @TinkerForward
      @TinkerForward  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Youpattube1, I'm sorry that my review was not to your liking. Yep, that's my music (are you a country music fan then?) and that's me cutting logs (something you do with a pole saw). I don't talk a bunch about how it attaches because I've done several other videos on this channel about the multi-tool system and I wanted to focus on the pole saw performance for this video. You can check out more info about how the pole saw attaches and how the 1 and 2 power positions switch works on the multi-tool system in this video: th-cam.com/video/cyYgrM5l-TE/w-d-xo.html or in the other videos I have done on this channel here in my EGO products playlist: th-cam.com/play/PL-ejpb-NKxVAOBgeD6D-xK3R8QheXZ8yi.html The multi-tool system allows you to change out different attachments such as the pole saw and replace it with a trimmer head, edger head, etc. Feel free to look for another reviewer that talks in more detail, but since I've done a ton of videos on EGO products on this channel, I think I've covered very well. Thanks for watching!
