we do this with elk here in washington every year. we’ve found that pulling them from their back legs is a lot easier and seems to allow the head and antlers to go through the brush easier.
I could see that working way better for antlers but probably harder on the cape. Is that an issue at all? Also, what’s the method you use to tie up legs? Thanks for the insight!
@@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRusty it all kinda depends on the terrain and brush your pulling them through but hasn’t been to much of a problem yet anyway haha we just wrap both legs together above the knuckle and do a half hitch. you could go through the tendon rigut there but i could see that breaking.
I just need one of those for my hunting season to be great! Drew the 29 moose tag after 3 try’s! Don’t think I take this lightly! As you did I have plenty of friends waiting to help
Was an amazing day buddy! So glad u guys were there and you were able to film it!
Definitely a once in a lifetime event!

Well if you have dragging experience you’re doing better than most elk hunters in WA! Thanks for the tips.
So cool good job.
Thanks for watching!
@@NorthwestOutdoorsWithRusty you’re welcome. Have a good day.
What an epic hunt! So cool to see the memories the family made. I'm going to start pulling tags, but I'll need a guide... you in?
You better believe it!
Great day of hunting!
For sure! It will be hard to beat, but you better believe I’ll be out there trying every year!
Pretty awesome. How wide are those bulls. Trying to get an idea of judging for my son. He has a moose tag for north Idaho this fall.
Congrats on the tag! They were right around 45 and 48 inches.

Congrats on the draw! Just remember, many hands make light work, whether it be glassing, packing, or anything in between!
