11:02 This means "Confoederatio Helvetica" which is the official name of Switzerland. And yes its in Latin, because if you pick one of the four official languages it would be unfair to the other one's.
(They are truly the boss of neutrality.
It also fits with CHees and CHocolate. 😉)
And yes, this is their Countrycode
The one from China is: CHN
everything right, but more explained reason is that that Switzerland was once very religious country and would use latin a lot, and since Switzerland doesnt have single official language for every canton, they stay with latin. But close enough i guess Lmao
Thanks brozo i was going to point it out
But itsnt china XN?
@@wavegodxxx420 zh, when not using chn, for zhongguo Pinyin romanisation of 中國 / 中国
He always do this on purpose.
Thank you! I was about to comment the same
10:58 maybe they’re not referring to China, they’re actually referring to Switzerland because the Swiss acronym is CH (Confédération Helvétique)
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking
The name is actually in Latin "Confoederatio Helvetica" or something like that which translates as "Swiss Confederation"
@@fanaticofmetal Correct the latin is official Singularity uses French, Nike uses registration plates for their acronyms(D for Germany/Deutchland, NL for the Netherlands/Nederland, the only 2 exeptions from countries that dont use their official acronym are USA and UK whom use US and GB for their registration plates)
Oh so thats why the shortening for swiss frank is CHF
Yeah, thought China is PRC
10:59 no, the Swiss one is correct lol, the CH stands for Confoederatio Helvetica, meaning Swiss Confederation.
All of them were correct. They used the official International vehicle registration codes.
sad that lol copied your comment
For the Springfield Missouri flag, why don't you just put the new flag's symbol on the old flag. Seems fair to me.
I live near there and i am ashamed
@@frenchfry1479 Yeah the solution seems pretty obvious imo
I was thinking the same thing. Just remove the city’s name and it would be fine.
Fun fact: The Act of Union was under a Scottish monarchy, not an English one. England hasn't had someone English on the throne since the 1400s. Current royal house is German
Yes, I believe the chronology of the nationality English/British houses, is English (Anglo-Saxon), French (Norman), Welsh (Tudors), Scottish (Stuarts) and now German (George I to Elizabeth II).
Yeah, the current British royals are from the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. They changed it in World War I because it would look bad to have Britain ruled by a king with such an aggressively German family name.
Though I believe when Prince Charles makes king, the monarch will technically be from a Danish royal house.
another fun fact about the UK is in this video it shows a yorkshire flag north of Yorkshire and Yorkshire is with a red and yellow flag combined with Lanc*shire
Or Greek? idk the details
8:00 "Flag of France but I changed the _yellow_ to gray"
WAIT WHAT?!
Ok
@@RaphaEditz npc reply
@@tornadoreaper nah
Why did he say yellow
Day 147 of asking drew to sell vampire Romania plushie
Damn long time
Do it!
Agreed
I’d buy that
I’m liking it just for the detication
11:01 'ch' is according to to one of the most accepted country code standarts(
(Iso 3166) the correct country code for switzerland(Confoederatio Helvetica)
China's would be 'cn'
Edit: it seems they used the International vehicle registration code with the exception of
GB -> UK and US -> USA
China becomes cartoon network. Makes sense
Greek
all registration plates are in the local language and sometimes they are the same as they would have been in English(NL for NederLand/NetherLands) but here they mix up because here latin is used if im right
7:21 What are you talking about? That concept of the new flag looks great. It looks much better and cleaner.
drew you're my lunch's channel, because when you post your videos, it's my lunch time, so I always watch your videos during my lunch
samee hahaha im in lunch right now hahaha
I really enjoy your videos Drew. Keep up the good work!
3:02 That Székely territory is so bad shaped inside Transylvania. Also, there should be breakaway flags for Capathian Ruthenia and South Slovakia
Moravia best
Catalonia, Galicia, Valencia and more are also very bad shaped. As well, in some of those places that are included in the map there isn’t any strong independent movement
There’s a south Slovakian separatist movement? What’s their complaint? Sick of those fat cats in Bratislava? Or tired of the Tatra-trash from the north.
In all seriousness, if you are Slovak, what’s going on?
@@pepintheshort7913 everybody wants to break away in the 21st century because it’s so rad and cool
Until they realize they’d start an economic meltdown 🤣🤣
@@pepintheshort7913 there's a lot of hungarians in south slovakia who wanted to be a part of hungary since 1918 (because whole slovakia was hungarian before)
10:18 you would be surprised how many vietnamese are in Czech republic :D
8:37 Nice try Cuba, but Israel is the OG Cube
Yoo lets go my post is in drews video! 1:43 :) yayyyyy
11:03 switzerland is often used by the initials “CH” as that’s their iso alpha-2 code and country code in their domain name .ch, from "confoederatio helvetica", another name for switzerland
4:42
Switzerland is always true neutral.
Love your videos, I watched almost every video of yours since 2021 summer Very relatable. Love from Philippines🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Happy Birthday Drew!
4:11 With the hammer and sickle, the hammer represents urban workers, while the sickle represents rural workers. In this case; the gear would represent urban workers, while the wheat would represent rural workers

Good Vid
Amazing as usual
you did not even fully see it
1:00 You also forgot mention the French flags in between the British flags
CH is actually used quite often for Switzerland, for one it is the suffix thats added if you enter a Swiss website
Your shirt looks really good, Drew!
Happy birthday drew!
3:37 merging the Italian speaking part of Switzerland with Germany definitely doesn't cause any problems *cough*
My man really just called papua new guinea new zealand 5:42
i love how this channel is fully about history, countryballs, flags, and countryhumans
I love your videos
Listening to the Names of Drew's Patrons is the highlight of my day.
Drew: "China has the Swiss flag"
Confederatio Helvetica: "Am I a joke to you!"
Hey Drew, I know you probably won’t see this but I wish you the best during the tsunamis that are currently affect the west coast, and I hope you, your friends, and family are safe.
3:23 Wow I'm surprised to see Cornwall included. It seems so often forgotten.
Love the isp music in the background
1:21 as a Kentuckian This Flag Is Way Better
7:59 Funny how the Taiwan flag is in the format of a ruby stone, considering ruby stones don’t even exist in Minecraft yet😂
But they were.
11:06 CH doesn't mean China, but this Is the initials of Switzerland in one of their official language.
1:14 When Belgium exists:
6:42
That's a great idea. Throw England out, let the Republic of Ireland join, smack dem Welsh Dragon, some green and some orange on it and rename the entire thing to "Celtic Union"
this is EASILY the best thing I have seen in this comment section
What about Brittany and Galicia ?
0:43 if a game is banned in mainland china why not use the taiwanese flag sicnce the only chinese able to play the game are from taiwan
4:27 I love how Switzerland is true neutral
I like that Switzerland calls itself CH while chineese people get to be Cartoon network
10:58, that's not china, that the Coenfederatio Helvetica, the formal name of Switzerland.
Nice
In Czech republic, there is a lot of Vietnamese they're like 6 largest minority we're like an European hotspot for Vietnamese
11:20 Ah yes, my favourite country
*Cadana*
It's an abbreviation for Canadian/canadien.
@@jeroylenkins1745 I know that, I'm just commenting that it put the letters in the wrong order. It should be CND, not CDN. In most cases it's neither, going for the frankly more recognizable CAN.
Aye Springfield got a shoutout 🙌
2:06 you placed the chilena flag wrong, when it’s placed vertically the star goes on the top left corner
I'm hoping my state gets that redesign. It's cool to see the redesign with the green background and the horse
10:53 That "chinese flag on the Shoe is swiss and the ch is the internet dlc
10:18 there is actually a huge Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic :D
3:18 “I guess the big one being Brittany”
Occitania:
Hey drew,
At the end, A note
China’s abbreviation code is CN
And Switzerland is CH
3:11 That's Andalucía, not Granada
10:38 As a brazilian I loved it when he put a star on that thing

Your first I'm second cool lol
3:15 if that shown islands, the principado da pontinha would be the smallest state
Hey drew can you watch countries scaled by gun ownership by pwa?
Thumbnail was unbelievable ngl
11:00 CH is for "Confédération Helvétique" : Switzerland
10:18
In czechia, a vietnamese shop is usually refered to as a small shop.
3:24 for anyone wondering, the other independent states in the uk are northumbria (the stripey flag), cornwall (the black and white cross) and yorkshire (the blue flag with a white rose, I live in yorkshire, however it is too high up on this map). I don’t know what the other one in scotland is though.
CH = Confederatio Helvetica (official name of Switzerland in latin)
CDN = Canada DominioN
In case someone was confused by that.
Seems cool
2:32 Missed opportunity to use a samurai sword. Ngl they should use this flag for war though.
3:23 *puts Yorkshire in Northumberland*
6:57 hometown getting recognition!!!!!!
Spain: Casually broken
Portugal: "I missed the part where thats my problem."
3:02 R.I.P France,Spain and UK
11:01 Ch is the official initials of Switzerland (no idea what it stands for though)

*Rohirrim*
0:34 the Chinese one makes way more sence then the other ones. For English you use the flag of England because thats where English is from and for Spanish the flag of Spain because thats where Spanish is from. People just dont get it...
Muchas grasias 😃👍
nice
Drew: the biggest takeaway from France is Brittany and Normandy
Occitania: am I joke to you?
I wonder what the next plush country ball is
11:00 I think, that CH doesn't mean China, but Confederation Helvetica, which is an official name for Switzerland
Bougainville will gain independence soon!
Fingers crossed! 🤞
I don't think 2027 is "soon"
6:54 spring field is a real state?!?!
It’s a city flag he never said state
11:00 Switzerland do have the Swiss letters.
(11:00) CH is the code for Switzerland, the code for China is CN and Chinese is ZH.
Can you please play World conqueror?
Don't be mistaken. It's not that the emoji standard has picked out which countries and subdepartments get flags. It's that the emoji standard is using ISO 3166, and therefore any region under ISO 3166 that has a code, therefore has a flag.
EZ is the official code for the Eurozone, and therefore has an emoji flag. Just that no emoji font includes it 🇪🇿
0:38 this cracked me up....😂
The breakaway state map shows Cornwall taking up Devon, Dorset and Somerset
11:00 the CH for Switzerland actually means 'Confederation Helvetica' which is their official name.
10:09 it looks better then our real flag in my opinion
Pretty impressed you named Galicia
6:52: The worst flags get approved, but the good designs get declined?
Cool
Neat
i actually have minecraft texture pack with flag items aswell some blocks (and u obviously know the only choice for obsidian is oman)
@11:00 no....CH is the shorthand for switzerland in swiss (The letters CH appearing on Swiss cars and in internet addresses stand for the Latin words Confoederatio Helvetica)
Finally my country the philippines is in a video, btw the yellow chips are my fav
:)
My man at 3:14 calling Andalusia, with capital Seville, "Granada"
(0:38) That is a very random flag, since CH is the code for Chamorro, a language spoken in Guam and Northern Mariana Islands. It is also not the country code, since CH is the code for Switzerland.
day 4 of asking Drew to start making Officer Sanchez again
CH is the official swiss acronym, it stands for helvetic confederation in latin I believe. Cool video anyway!
CH is used to depict Switzerland in Europe. For china we use CHN or ZH
Drew the french watermark is actually Dutch but they had to twist it to make sure it suits
