Altho no doubt at all that Clint was THE star of this movie, he purposely took a back seat to Chief Dan George when it came to handing out all the classic lines, especially the comedic ones.

I first watched Clint in the spaghetti westerns at the drive in around 1969ish, give or take a year, I was only around 11-12 yo. Then Dirty Harry came out when I was in high school and I had a poster of him on my bedroom wall. Through the years I have never been disappointed with any of his movies. He will be sorely missed when he is gone. I pray he realizes that accepting Jesus is the only way to heaven, before it is too late.

I’m inclined to agree. As westerns go, this one is hard to beat. High Plains Drifter had more innuendo. But for in your face Western this is the model.

I'm 55 years old now. I first saw this movie close to 10 yrs old. It is still one of the best western's to this day.
I'm 70 now and went to see this movie 3 times in the theaters when it first came out! Have also worn out 2 VHS tapes, have it on DVD, streaming, and never tire of watching it on TV or streaming cable/sat channels! Close 2nd is "Tombstone" and other tied are "Silverado", both "Magnificent 7" versions (Yul Brynner & Denzel Washington), and "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon"!! Would also mix in "Pale Rider" and "High Plains Drifter" as needed!

As far as I'm concerned, this was he best movie EVER! Not just the best Clint Eastwood movie but honestly, the best movie in the history of movies. ...even better than star wars. One of the aspects that I loved best was the way they showed the Native American as an honorable and intelligent human being.
