This was my very first World Series - but I was only five weeks old, so I don’t remember much about it… …except the catch, of course; that was unbelievable!!!
Very nice. I can imagine my Dad (an Indian fan) listening to this broadcast LIVE with his buddies back then from his dorm room at Ohio State University in Columbus
Lack of clutch hitting doomed the Indians in the first two games of this series, and set the stage for the four-game sweep. The Tribe should have won at least one of these games. They won 111 games and lost 43 in the regular season, the record for a 154-game season. Yet all people would remember was the "Catch," Dusty's big hits and the World Series fold. The Indians wouldn't get back to the World Series for 41 years, and hasn't won the World Series since 1948, 73 years ago. Sad tale of ineptitude.
I just love how your can hear the fans cheering and even talking, people whistling, the PA announcer. Radio announcer is excellent as well. I will listen to this entire broadcast completely. Wonder how many of these players are still alive besides Willie Mays.

@@footerotica882 Yes, should have noted the Indians' record was for the American League.
Frankie Frisch sounds like Walter Brennan!
Al Helfer and Jimmy Dudley (Indians) on the call.
Love the gams. The commercials take me back in time. Thanks.
They said that Mays catch in Game 1 would be talked about for years...they weren't kidding!
What a nice way to spend the off season to sit back and listen to all these great games keep them coming please.

Kevin Pyne Willie Mays & John Antonelli they are the only ones left.
I'm sorry, but Antonelli died in Feb 2020. Willie Mays is the only one left.
You can hear Russ Hodges calling the game for the Giants in back ground.
