It's a heck of a radio. You'll have no trouble using the basics and getting on the air but there will still be lots to grow into later.

The audio is only playing on the left speaker. You probably should adjust your audio settings to ensure that you are recorded in stereo.

My only grip with the ft3 ft5 is the tiny clock and tx power indicators on the vfo a and b have been removed as on the ft2d

How do you change the mic audio control? many complain that my audio is too low on the analog repeaters. THe digital is fine.

Hi I’m in 🇬🇧 UK just been watching your video, thank you for the great information, you explained it very well indeed.
My question is, what is the best antenna for my new yaesu ft5d also I take my foundation exam next week and I am brand new to this hobby.
At 62 I’m finding it very interesting but hard to understand, however you do a great job at making it very easy to understand.

Thanks for the video. I have just bought an FT5D and my Nagoya antenna is slightly too wide to fit because of the GPS “hump”. It looks like you have added an adapter to allow you to use a similar antenna - could you please let us know what adapter this is? Many thanks 😀
