  • Google somehow managed to make one of the best pairs of noise cancelling earbuds we've tested in a while. If you're in the market for a new pair, our review takes a closer look at these buds, how they compare to more expensive earbuds like the Sony WF-1000XM4s or Bose Quiet Comfort II, how comfortable they are to wear compared to other buds like the Google Pixel Buds A-Series, especially for long periods of listening.
We'll also walk you through how well their noise cancellation works, how it stacks up against other competing buds, how much better they sound than the Pixel Buds A-Series, how well their mic quality performs, their transparency mode, battery life, and charging options. We'll also walk you through the Pixel Buds companion app, pointing out some of the most useful features and finally we'll walk you through who we think should pick up a pair of the Pixel Buds Pro.

What I love the best about these buds is the battery life as well as the bass which is pretty amazing. I did have a hard time with the fit in my ears, on some occasions one of my earbuds even fell off my ear onto the sidewalk. So I went on Amazon and purchased a set of foam ear tips and that helped a lot. Just a little tip for those of you who are having the same trouble with the fit 😉

I really wanted to like these since I have the watch and phone, but I just sent them back because I couldn't get them to fit me well with stock and comply ear tips. I just heard about how spinfit eartips may work. I did have an issue of the anc and transparency making a beep noise in the right ear when on, since day one, but I heard that a reset may fix it. I just never did it, since I knew I would probably have to send them back because of how they fit.

I have had the pixel buds pro for about 4 months now and the fit really annoys me - i feel like im always pushing them back in especially when moving around or working out or running etc. and some cases they have fallen out when on a run and ive just had to put them away because i don't want to lose them... This isnt to say don't order them - seems like it's a hit or miss when it comes to the fitment - some people think they're perfect and some people find the fit not tight enough.

If you Google "Pixel Buds Pro charging Reddit", there are dozens of reports of this issue, even with replacements, which could indicate it being a software issue, but nobody in tech media is mentioning the issue at all.

I received my Pixel Buds Pro on October 12 for free with the purchase of a Pixel Pro 8, and I charged them. The next day, I used them for a Microsoft Teams meeting. I started my meetings around 0730 CST and around 1150 CST. The Pixel Pro Buds are dead on me. I was using them on my Windows PC. However, they sound great, and the folks on the other side of the meeting had no issues listening to me. Is it normal for them to last around 4.5 hours? I was playing around with the ANC a lot, and maybe that was why the battery did not last long. I also had issues connecting with two devices. I activated the settings to connect two devices Pixel Pro 8 and Windows 11 PC when I was trying to switch from my PC to my Android Pixel 8 Pro to play music no sound at all, even thou I can see that I was connected to the Buds Pro. FYI, my PC was silent, and nothing was chiming or playing. I did notice when I walked away from my PC from my home office to the kitchen that the connections were pretty bad compared to my Sony XM5 overhead earphones. Has anyone had this issue before, especially when connecting between two devices?

I absolutely hate mine seeing as how much I had to pay for them. I'll be walking around, they fall out, bend over and they fall out, look to my left or right? Yep, they fall out. I can't use them at the gym or a phone call which are the only two reasons I use earphones. I really wanted to like them as part of their integrated Pixel system but these are just poorly designed. I do like the fit and EQ options. Not sure on the spatial audio yet but need to wait until they add head tracking too.
I have had issues with putting them into the case and a bud or both buds still being connected. I wish they could quickly auto connect to my CCwGTV like Airpods on Apple TV.

Its so bad, worse than my 60€ SoundCore p3.
For higher noise's the anc acts more like an amplifier.

Mine basically fell apart within like 6 months. Left ear stopped working or got extremely quiet/hard to hear anything out of. The right ear followed suit a few weeks later. I used to wear them maybe 3-4 hours a day. Treated them well. Never in water. Maybe I just got a defective pair. When I first got them they were pretty good. Noise cancelling. Definitely better sound than AirPods. But they just didn’t last at all. 😊

no comment on known issue of sound drifting to one side, or volume, whateever you want to call it. Sound balance goes more left or more right eat, only way to fix it is taking them out of your ears for few seconds, sometimes that helps balancing them again.

These are an improvement over the 1st gen buds. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxK5mc3yw4xA7Mf2j6k6n1Uqv_KUgrKdeM Pros: The fit is fantastic. This is the biggest plus. They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

as a self proclaimed google nut, I'm really disappointed that they didn't work out for me. Within 15 minutes of wearing them, they felt so uncomfortable in my ears. I tried wearing them for short intervals, then a bit longer every couple of hours and I ended up returning them because I just couldn't get past how uncomfortable they felt in my ears, my ears were in legit pain after more than 15 minutes of wear. Turns out my ears are just small, and they were uncomfortable because the buds were too big.
I ended up getting a pair of the A-series earbuds, because they're close to my original pixel buds that died in the beginning of november after two years of use. I love them, despite google getting rid of the volume control swiping option.

I would like to say that I feel ripped off by buying the pixel buds pro. I've owned $30 earbuds from amazon from a knockoff brand that were more reliable, more comfortable, show a battery indicator on the outside of the case, and its battery life was much longer. I think that google is making excuses about its shortcomings and reliability. as an excuse, Google says that opening and closing the case will show the battery indicator on your phone. This is cumbersome and doesn't work on Samsung galaxy s23 ultra. Something as simple as finding the battery indicator is difficult. I will stick with these earbuds for a while since they were expensive and get the job done, however, next time I'm not buying this brand.
