  • CHIPPING MISTAKES YOU MUST FIX! SIMPLE GOLF TIPS
These are some of the chipping mistakes that could be costing you shots on the golf course. In this golf lesson Matt Fryer Golf talks you through 3 things you need to do when chipping to give you a better chance of hitting good chip shots. The golf lesson covers the basic setup when chipping, to how to approach your chips when on the golf course.
Adopting this approach and applying some practice time, you will see you don't lose as many shots around the greens next time you are on the golf course.

You’ve got way more of a coach vibe than an instructor vibe like the rest of the guides on TH-cam and it’s awesome man keep it up

The thing i love about your instruction is that after watching i always say to myself, "that makes sense." When im on the course every shot i hit im thinking about a Sportscenter highlight rather than a smart, solid play. Thanks for the fundamental reinforcement.

Excellent Matt, nice short informative video. Love to see ones where you use lob wedge and sand wedge and show the differences from the same spot.

Good video, shorter than some of the others so I could concentrate the entire time. Liked the three steps, well explained and then reviewed. I usually can pitch these shots unless I try the weight forward, that makes me dig the club in. I usually open my stance up and that helps me.

Really like the ‘think of where you’d throw the ball’ analogy. So simple but I’ve never thought of it like that

Another great video. Starting with the observation from a student is really inclusive. Like it

One thing that I’ve found with my game with a wedge in that situation is confidence. You know what to do but you have to stay fairly aggressive with the shot. If I lose confidence I get less aggressive and I’m far more likely to duff the shot.

Great video Matt! I struggle with chipping vs full swing with my wedges. This helped tons.

These videos from various points and challenges the golfcourse are so awesome. It is like have a private round with a pro that would cost a fortune here in Norway (or anywhere probably).

Hi Matt great video and tips, 'throw the ball,' tip that's a beauty. I always struggle with shots down to the green on very steep holes, do you have any videos on that situation
    Keep up the great work

Matt. I liked that you tossed a ball on to the green. I do this to help with my tempo, length and speed of swing when I'm practising chipping. Question, standing the club up on its toe would cause the shot to start a little right due to face angle. Yes or No.

Thanks for that affirmation. I was trained by a pro who preached your message. I really took away the idea of “brushing” or “grazing” strokes before stepping up, so to speak. The club selection and landing zones and visualization, my pro brought me up to speed. My chip shots earn me piles and piles of compliments. They ask me for advice. Hahahahaha.... Cheers and Thanks!!

There is another way of playing this shot which gives more loft and spin i.e. angled stance and ball played at the back of the stance. Is this shown anywhere Matt? I practice this in the back garden. Mixed results but practice makes perfect.

Using my wedges with this bounce shot the club tends to grab at the toe then it twists and spoils the shot. Is there something I am missing or is the lie of the club to flat for my stance?

I played recently and for the last 6 holes i destroyed my score by digging the club into the ground being just off the green, I just can't understand what happens, I even say to myself don't hit it fat now, I nearly cried coming off after being just 7 over on the 13th, finished 21 over 😡

Not what the master Phil teaches, never plays the ball in the middle of his stance when pitching, back foot or front foot... Never middle of stance... I'll stick with Phils advice... 👌

Here we go again! Another coach that doesn't know the difference between a CHIP and a PITCH. He is demonstrating a PITCH and calling it a CHIP. In a chip the club doesn't pass the hands. In a pitch the club passes the hands to FOLLOW THROUGH. Bad!
