My experience: so the lipstick went on creamy and started off very satin-ey but then dried down to a matte. Then after eating and drinking, it left behind a lot of pigment, almost like a stain. For me, the longevity was amazing and I would definitely recommend and buy more from this line. I know it’s more pricey than their usual lip products but this is worth it. Great lipstick in terms of pigmentation and longevity. 10/10
They have been steadily upping their game with quality and ingredients, arguably better than higher priced drugstore items as well. $9, if the product is very good and a color that would work for me, is worth it to me!

I think a lot of the new ingredients Elf has been adding makes many of their newer products warrant the higher price (not that I like all the ingredients). It seems like a lot of higher priced drugstore products don’t include some of these ingredients. I also think Elf still does a good job at carrying much cheaper items too, like their $3.00 lippies and other really inexpensive eyeshadows, etc, plus I’m a sucker for a magnetic lipstick tube 😉 and thank you so much for all the swatches! Elf is really trying to be the next Makeup Revolution. These look nearly identical to NARS Audacious Lipsticks from years ago. With how the quality has gone up over the past 10 years, I'm not surprised they're taking on ABH, Charlotte Tilbury, and now NARS.
I love Elf! I saw other ladies do a wear test and they were pleasantly surprised how it wore. I’m going to try it being what my kids call me a lipstick queen!
I think for the quality products elf has been putting out with better ingredients , packaging, etc the price increase is justified. They're still significantly cheaper than the high end brands. If they had come out as a new brand today with the newer products that they developed within the past 2 years and the price range for everything was around the 10 dollar price point everyone would be running to buy it and raving about how much of a steal their products were. I think it's unfair as consumers to constantly complain about their slight price changes and refuse to purchase their products because we remember what they used to charge. Brands should be allowed to evolve and while some brands mark up prices for no good reason ELF has been a brand that creates products consistently that consumers absolutely adore with ingredients on particular to some higher end counterparts that people otherwise wouldn't be able to buy. We need to acknowledge that and be fair.

I’m like don’t fix if it isn’t broke and I still have my Maybelline & Milani old lipsticks 🤣 These stain too.. their old line didn’t stain. I have a strong feeling that Drive is a close dupe for their old blushing brown shade. Also YES I hate when they get rid of shades or products that they had for a long time and weren’t bad. I’m still mad about colourpop getting rid of their ultra matte lip mars shade.. it was ✨the one✨lip shade for me and the formula was really good for that color! I’m happy Milani still have their matte color statement lipsticks. The shade beauty is so good. I got shameless. It wasen't as cool as I expected and it is very drying. The color started coming off my lower lip in a half hour. I don't know why I would ever want to wear this matte pigmented but fading lipstick.
These lipsticks are coming off as all more muted tones, nothing too bright. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I wonder why they didn't put some bright colors in the line. A few years back they came out with the seriously satin lipsticks, great color range and only 3 dollars. These new ones seem ok, but not great. Just ok.
These remind me of the E.l.f mineral lipsticks they had back in 2015 (I think it was). Does anyone else remember those??They were really nice and they discontinued them🙄 Almost same packaging and similar colors with these with the added higher price point. The formulation is important to note as well. The formula is leaps and bounds better than past elf satin lipstick formulas. I’d say the formula is close to Maybelline colorsensational, but I’d argue the packaging is much nicer for elf. All these things considered, I don’t mind the price increase. I’d rather pay $9 for better quality all around. Drugstore prices are increasing no matter what brand you’re looking at.
