I’m fact, the plaintiff stated that he took the cats to the vet the day after he picked them up, and the vet gave them a clean bill of health. So clearly, they contracted the illness while in his care. His first mistake was spending almost $3,000 on 2 cats.
I got my cat from the Humane Society and a week after I got her home, boom $1,000 of vet bills for the kitty cold. Kittens are very vulnerable when young and it is very common they have a cold and/or diarrhea. This lady offering a refund is the right thing to do and the plaintiff was just wrong.

Yes, particularly since she does this as a business and even requires her clients to sign a contract. In addition, she appears to know what she is doing.
What is beyond me is she is NOT even a legit breeder. She does this for "pleasure" as she stated. Who would pay a stranger that amount of money to somebody who doesn't even know it's a pretty common breed in America. She's just full of herself and clearly sells sick kittens. It's not normal for kittens to have diarrhea
Well good for you. That wasn’t his choice which is his right to make. I have two rescues. My friend has a dog she got from a reputable breeder. So what? She didn’t want to risk the things I did when I got a rescue who turned out to have two life threatening illnesses they didn’t disclose but knew about. I spent over $1k in vet bills. She spent half of that on her dog. People get to choose their pet. My other rescue will be on expensive meds his whole life. He did all the right things, his family was traumatized, and he is out lord knows how much money.
@@zoorenard1101 if she sells that many kittens, she is a legit breeder. He researched a breeder and chose her. Do you suggest that good breeders have to run a giant pet breeding operation? My sister in law breeds labs. She doesn’t over breed her dogs. She does it because she enjoys breeding dogs as a hobby. She’s done it for 30 years. Does that mean she’s not a breeder? You’re better off with someone who isn’t running a pet mill.
@@debshaw680 if she was a legitimate breeder she would say so and have paperworks. That's why her "it's for pleasure" should be considerate. She could ran a 120 puppies a month mill and it wouldn't mean a thing. I never said she didn't bred enough puppies to be legit. But if a breeder tells you that kind of breed is "very rare" and one Google search would show you it isn't. They are very common cats around the continent. Also, they come from Scotland, so her buying it from Russa should be a red flag. And diarrhea is NOT common for kitten. As somebody who volunteered in shelters for many years I know one thing. That cat was sick before the sell it and she knew that.
I lost a baby. That doesn’t make the loss of a pet any easier for me. She didn’t lose a baby because of him. He has a right to get some of the vet bills paid. Especially being out that kind of money. His family is devastated too. A fetus does not equal a live animal that suffers for weeks before the eyes of your entire family.
With her losing her child any added stress doesn’t help; no one knows her personal life and what else she is going through. Having this crap ontop would be stressful
She lost a child but continues to add to the overpopulation of cats in America. When we experience trauma we need to face it and overcome as opposed to covering it with making bigger issues
Yes but she has to prove that him suing her is the only reason that she lost her child. No it didn't help, but she has to prove that stress is the only thing that killed her child. Most likely if she lost her kid it was due to other health issues not just stress alone.

I had a beautiful white Turkish Angora that died that same way, he was such a wonderful cat. I opted to have him put down because in the stage where he bloated up he was in so much pain and was no longer himself, plus it could take a matter days to weeks for him to finally pass and that was too much for him to go through. Sometimes you can't find the type of dog that will fit into your lifestyle. I needed a very small indoor dog that I could travel easily with. My teacup Yorkie is only 2.9 pounds and doesn't shed. They also have no odor. I looked for a tiny dog for 5 months at shelters and rescues but finally gave up and bought from a breeder. Scottish fold is such an irresponsible breed of cat, they breed them to have folded ear cartilage which In turn makes all their cartilage in their bodies weak. Giving an animal health problems to make it more “cute” is awful.
The first Scottish fold was born to Scottish barn cat who's kittens had a natural mutation. Yes 2 Scottish folds should not be bred together and anyone doing so is disgusting I'm sure these people are far and few between and the majority of Scottish folds cats are just cats with this natural mutation.
Scottish fold cats have a slew of health issues that can occur in their lives. All Scottish fold cats can trace their history back to one cat in Scotland to a cat names Susie. I don’t see anything about them being a Russian cat.
@@Ambelica I used to see them at cat shows all the time. Maybe not super common, but not impossible to find. The fact she had a clause identifying the exact disease the kittens had was sketchy. @@Mitsurilove_84 just because you know people and have had your own doesn’t make them uncommon:) she has a different mother language, so honestly her words have to be taken into that context. I know of the breed, but I’ve never seen one in person in my 28 years. That’s how uncommon they are !
She offered him a refund that he should have taken although I do feel sorry for him. Miscarriages can happen due to stress. Many women do not experience miscarriages with their "first pregnancy" just because the judge SADLY did.
Well, I miscarried my first pregnancy and was told by my gynecologist, that miscarriages do happen comparatively often during the first pregnancy. Including myself, I personally know of four women having lost their babies with their first pregnancy, and one who miscarried her third one. Sure, I'm not the measure of things either, but my doctor, I'm sure, had the information from a reliable source. - Just saying. Perhaps the judge had been told the same back then. It might be somewhat insensitive, but it also takes away some of the worry arising, whether you'll ever be able to carry a child to term.
I adopted an 8 week old kitten from the shelter, and at that time I paid $40 for a check up and vaccinations. They also set up a time to bring her in to be spayed. She lived almost 23 years and we still miss her very much. I would not spend a $1000 on a kitten when there are so many affordable pets at the animal shelter that need a good home.
We found a 1 year old sickly cat outside my office. She'd been hit by a car too and healed kind of crooked. She's almost 21 years old now and still alive and kicking and has the loudest mrawl when she's ready to eat.
So the women was giving the cats the same antibiotic that the vet continued to give him for this sickness but that doesn't prove they were sick before he got them?
No because kittens have a tendency to have diarrhea, and Vets use the same medicine for both conditions, that was part of why he couldn't prove his case. There is also no way a Vet would know for certain if she pumped the kitten full of the medicine in order to sell it, especially if it was a different Vet then she dealt with.
the fact that the cat was not sick afterwards shows that the seller was not to blame. Sure the kitten could have caught Covid, but that isn't the sellers fault.
He took them to a vet the day after he got them and it was all fine. If they were sick the whole time why would it be that way? And if they gave the same medication she did what did she do to “weaken the immune system” like he made up? It’s just one of those unfortunate things. If a vet didn’t know the cat was sick, beyond just a touch of diarrhea, how could she?
Why…? In all honesty he’s not being slick, because she sold an animal that carried this vicious virus. That’s why there is a clause in her b-ll$h-t stipulations within the contract. That proves that she had prior knowledge of the potentiality of a problem and she covered herself…She’s the one that’s slick. That was all done with forethought on her end.
Scottish Fold: The breed was not accepted for showing in Europe and the GCCF withdrew registrations in 1971 due to crippling deformity of the limbs and tail in some cats and concerns about genetic difficulties and ear problems such as infection, mites, and deafness, but the Folds were exported to America and the breed continued to be established using crosses with British Shorthairs and American Shorthairs. Since the initial concerns were brought, the Fold breed has not had the mite and infection problems, though wax buildup in the ears may be greater than in other cats
"Umm, i like to breed them for fun", lady you are just adding more to the over population of cats. There are so many kittens out there starving for a good home and love. I rescued my oldest cat when she was 5 weeks old. She was a starving stray living under my house. I took her in, and I got her just in time, every little bone was sticking out because she didn't get food hardly at all. She is 10 now, and my fur buddy. I love her so much 💗
Obviously fun was the code word for money. This lady doesn’t care about population of cats when she’s breeding cats several times per year to have 25 cats to sell yearly.
@@lauvasquez7198 Especially breeding Scottish Folds. They're so inbred, they're very prone to many problems, and immune problems should not be considered startling.
People are trying to keep specific breeds, you know. Not everyone wants a rescue that you have no idea of the genetics of the animal, and also, people have the right to own the animal they want. Not everyone wants an alleycat or a pit bull.
@@magnificent6668 You can get any specific breed you want from the shelter if that is your preference. But it is nonsensical to say the choices are only alley-cats and Pitt bull as if they are the only pets that are abandoned and neglected. Shelters offer from kittens to adult cats in any breed you just have to look for it. I would think as an animal lover you would get it from there instead of going to breeders that dont care fr the animal welfare and give you one with genetic problems.
Back in the day, you just put out some food and a stray wandered up. First cat I paid for was a tiny kitten from the pound. Paid $15, and had him for 17 years. Then there was a half-Scottish fold from a rescue shelter for $100,. He stayed with us for 16 years. Cheap cats from shelters seem to be the best bargain.
Breeder should have, DEF, told defendant about antibiotics BEFORE she released kitten 💯‼️‼️‼️Yes, kittens will have diarrhea, usually, after worming which does NOT require antibiotics! I understood EVERYTHING plaintiff explained about FIP. Had it happen to a Siamese kitten i bought YEARS AGO. I didn't even think about suing the breeder as I became so attached to this baby 😢. I just dealt with it and the passing was, DEVASTATINGLY, PAINFUL. SAD 😢😢😢😢 Judge, imo, made the wrong decision 😮😢😢😢
There’s a reason her contract specifically lists not being responsible for FIP. When you are purposefully breeding animals, inbreeding and genetic similarities are very likely. I wouldn’t be shocked if her entire litter develops it. I believe this is her first time being sued but this wasn’t the first time a kitten died on her for FIP. And this is one of the cons of buying pets as most of them are being inbred for aesthetic/behavioral purposes.
Preach. The Scottish fold gets their trademark from their folded ears. To achieve that, they selective breed to get weakened cartilage. The problem is that cartilage isn’t just in the cats ears. All of their cartilage is weakened, most notably in their heart. Scottish folds and Persians are the English and French bulldogs of cats.
@@rylee4202 I never claimed that it did. My point is that in and of itself, the Scottish fold is a breed riddled with issues. It’s a breed that suffers because of vanity breeding. That has no effect on it contracting fip. I would be interested to know if their weakened heart is a complication when trying to treat FIP but FIP isn’t genetic nor is it breed specific to the Scottish fold.
@@Aubz47 there is no way of knowing, but considering fip is practically untreatable it's something we would never know. also no part of FIP specifically targets the heart at first, so i dont think it has a ton of bearing to link their heart issues to it.

I absolutely find these unscrupulous breeders disgusting. Shes just doing this for money? Deplorable....as a lot of breeders do, FIP is a horrible disease. It’s fatal in cats.
Got my tortie for free. She’s sassy ass loving cat. This man purchased a cat whom he knew was sick. He could’ve taken the cat back and refused. That’s his bad. She also offered a refund and he refused that too.
He bonded with that cat and when it died after binding that had to be emotional and a bit traumatic. She sold a sick cat and knew about it because she had the sickness listed in the contract. She needs to stop breeding cats and he needs to be smarter and adopt from a shelter
I got my tortie from my vet and she got FIP. It was a long, expensive process, but my vet was super supportive and we managed to save her. Now she's the queen of sass and rules the house, like all torties should. :D
I adore the way she questions these irresponsible breeders! The way she presses them to explain why the hell they’re doing this especially when they try to use “for fun” “for my pleasure” as an excuse. Wish there were regulations and a registry to control pet breeding.
FIP comes up at about 5 months and up to 3 years old. It’s a horrible disease, and the defendant should not be breeding her cat any more if there’s evidence of FIP in any kittens.
Scottish folds are susceptible to polycystic kidney disease and cardiomyopathy. Scottish folds are also prone to degenerative joint disease, most commonly affecting the tail, ankles, and knees which can result in reduced range of motion.
Oh. My. GOODNESS!!! Wow. The ending there- she even offered to pay him already AND literally lost her baby! (on record I'm assuming, too) and he went on about how hard it was for his family that got attached to a kitten... and watching this, I knew exactly what it's like to lose a kitten to this disease. A very similar thing happened when we got a sick kitten, and declined quickly from the same thing but suffered so much in the end. It was devastating, absolutely. But even the interviewer at the end was so ignorant to the fact that her loss was incredible, too! I don't like to compare things in general, truly. But that was outrageous! Too much. That made him look like a real jerk. And he's looking to try to prepare to go after her again for the other cat, too.
this honestly happens more than you would think, something similar happened to a friend who bought two bengal kittens. I think they both died soon after she paid $4K for them....just remember that pure breeds have a lot of issues friends.
Doctors advise pregnant women to not be around cat litters or cat products which can cause miscarriages and I think that’s what happened in her case as to why she miscarried. Not because of stress.
We got some kittens from PetSmart cause they were cute and I felt bad for them. When we walked into the cat area it smelled HORRID and the employee even commented that she was sorry about the smell. We took them home and 3 weeks later the boy Qi (chi) started having trouble breathing. We took him to the emergency clinic and they said he had a respiratory infection. I stayed up all night watching him and in the morning he still hadn't gotten better so I rushed him back to the emergency clinic. They then diagnosed him with a rare FIP disease which spawns from gastrointestinal coronavirus in cats which happens in sickly environments where they aren't separated. He died 15 minutes later and both my bf and I were completely distraught. His sister Toph was then taken to the vet as a safety precaution and she was diagnosed with giardia which she would have gotten from PetSmart as well. Moral of the story people who don't take care of animals in shelters or breeding homes suck and I am FOREVER traumatized that my first kitten died because of how they were treated when their immune system are the most sensitive. His sibling Toph was very lonely and my mom found a kitten being fostered and we decided, even though we weren't necessarily emotionally ready, it would be good for Toph to have a companion because we are gone most of the morning. Toph and Ty Lee are bff's and love to talk and both are happy and VERY healthy in our care.
This is exactly why if I get any pet from the shelter I only get pets who are in foster homes because I’ve had a really bad experience when I went to the Forsyth Humane Society. I was looking for a kitten and they had handed me this white cat that has black spots. He was adorable and they didn’t really have a lot of medical history on him. I wasn’t really thinking about it because I guess he had just came to the shelter recently so I wasn’t thinking anything about it so Three days you know I was really happy. I actually ended up in the hospital and my boyfriend was taking care of the cat and he was doing really good. He fed him and he was eating and he was drinking water and everything then two days later he became sick now by this time I was already discharged from the hospital so you know everything was fine he was still eating he was still drinking. He was using the litter box. Everything was fine and then two days later I noticed that he had stopped eating and he wasn’t drinking water and he had stuff in his nose and his eyes were getting full of drainage now I had a second Care. She was two years old at the time, but they were separated, my cat has all her shots she she’s well she is not sick or anything but I still separated them because my cat is a little skittish around other cats but he ended up getting sick and he was getting bones and wasn’t eating or anything so I ended up taking him to the emergency hospital and they said that he was failure to thrive. They gave me medication and Warren bottles and everything to keep him warm and everything but I ended up having to take him back to the shelter because my mom wanted me to take care of myself and she didn’t want me to be sick since I had recently just got out the hospital but it was really sad.
Yes. But I’m also glad this judge is not cold about it as well. She makes her emotions about it very clear in the case but does not let that interfere with her verdicts. And I respect her for that.
Especially considering that she's a cat person and once had one of her cats eaten by a rogue dog. She understands completely what it's like to lose a cat.
That's a nice suggestion but you should be commenting on the case. I don't have animals but it's obvious to me some people choose to have pure bred cats. So what?
Awe I’m so sorry she lost her baby! His emotional stress? What about here emotional stress? She lost her HUMAN BABY! And he wants to go after her again? I don’t spend a lot of money on anything that can die.

I got a kitty from a shelter and he got FIP. It was the worst way to die. He got the brain version instead of the tummy one. I donated his body to UC Davis and with his help we now have a vaccine. So at least my tragedy wasn't a complete waste.
I had a beautiful white Turkish Angora that died that same way, he was such a wonderful cat. I opted to have him put down because in the stage where he bloated up he was in so much pain and was no longer himself, plus it could take a matter days to weeks for him to finally pass and that was too much for him to go through. He was my very first cat after I moved out of my parent’s house. You will be forever loved and remembered Cho Cho!💙
I'm sorry for what you and he went through. I hope you have another cat now who's making your life better.
The cure for FIP is only available on the black market in America. I went through this as well.

You were very kind and loving to Cho Cho. He was lucky to have you too.
People should adopt a 🐈 from a shelter. They need a home.
I think it's great if people can adopt but unfortunately it doesn't work for some people.
I did get a kitten from a neighbor when a stray pregnant cat showed up on her doorstep. There were 6 kittens and they were all adopted by people in our neighborhood.

Scottish fold is such an irresponsible breed of cat, they breed them to have folded ear cartilage which In turn makes all their cartilage in their bodies weak. Giving an animal health problems to make it more “cute” is awful.
Wow, thanks for the information. That's an interesting fact
Because they're not. They're *pikachu face* from Scotland.

he didn't wanted the refund, he wanted to take he to court for the five grand .You can see it in his face ,he gave her a hell amount of stress .
Agreed. Judge Millian was making a statement about someone else's pregnancy based on her own. Very arrogant
@Beaverish Buck Teeth I'm not sure who you're addressing here, but you're incorrect.
@Beaverish Buck Teeth If you were a woman ,had a vagina and carried a child for nine months, you would have think otherwise
He don't want a cat for the same reason you wanted one. His are for show
We found a 1 year old sickly cat outside my office.
Yeah this was a tricky one
@MR IV and Russians will lie that’s their culture! Stop generalizing . See how that is unfair ? Adopt dont shop
the fact that the cat was not sick afterwards shows that the seller was not to blame.
Did he just say she’ll be even more stressed if she has to pay the plaintiff $5000? Such a savage 🤦🏽♀️

I just dealt with it and the passing was, DEVASTATINGLY, PAINFUL. SAD 😢😢😢😢
Judge, imo, made the wrong decision 😮😢😢😢
There’s a reason her contract specifically lists not being responsible for FIP. When you are purposefully breeding animals, inbreeding and genetic similarities are very likely. I wouldn’t be shocked if her entire litter develops it. I believe this is her first time being sued but this wasn’t the first time a kitten died on her for FIP. And this is one of the cons of buying pets as most of them are being inbred for aesthetic/behavioral purposes.
FIP is not genetic. FIP is a random mutation that can happen in any cat, specific breed or not.
@@Aubz47 This still has no bearing on their chance to contract FIP.

This is exactly why if I get any pet from the shelter I only get pets who are in foster homes because I’ve had a really bad experience when I went to the Forsyth Humane Society.

That car was better than brand new again. 4 coats of Burgandy lacquer, with pearl. It was on the road for 2 days, people admiring it and the work I put into it.
Then an Ice cream truck ran a red light and T-boned me.
I was literally sitting in the middle of a 4 way intersection crying like baby. I couldn't even stand up because my legs were so weak from crying.
To this day I remember my stomach hurting so much because I cried so hard.
Talk about depression? I got the book value because it was property.
Just like a cat.
They have alot of health issues 😞 but my goodness they're so damn cute
With so many cats needing adoption, it seems wrong to be breeding and selling expensive cats.
Scottish folds are not from Russia they're from Scotland but I do think Russian blue cats are the most precious also 🤗💞
Russian blues are wonderful and quite unique. Had one years back and he was something else lol
people who breed animals to the point they’re born deformed and genetically damaged are evil and sick…. and so are the people who purchase their animals.
ADOPT, DON’T SHOP!! ❤️
Did she just shutdown that woman by saying it's common to loose your first child...who told her that and why would she say that... That's messed up and simply not true.
It actually is pretty common. I’m currently eight months pregnant, but prior to this I’ve had seven miscarriages… and this will be my first child. I’ve heard from many peers that they have also lost pregnancies their first time.
What a nasty guy the plaintiff is. He was offered a refund. But still chose to harass this woman and take her to court. Shame on him. I feel so terrible for her for losing her child. Judge maybe onto something about defendant needing therapy.
If you pay a thousand dollars for a cat you should be arrested.
There are kittens in shelters that need homes. If she really cared about cats then she wouldn't keep breeding more cats.
I cannot believe the Judge said tht about her miscarriage. That was just so unnecessary and insensitive.
The famous Japanese cat Maru is a Scottish fold. I have watched Maru grow from a kitten to now becoming a senior kitty.
The guy doing the intro sounds like the man who peaks in windows at night 😆 🤣
$1800 for a cat?! I got an ally full of cats for you for $1800!!!
😆 🤣
Defendant is GORGEOUS! skin, hair and eyes are beautiful
I adopted my cat 11 years ago from the shelter. Best decision I ever made. Please adopt!!
Blessings 🙌
HE should NEVER have pets. He's too ignorant.
I had to rewind the video a few times to make sure I heard the prices he paid for the cats, correctly.
The weird "deification" of pets in western first-world countries is still baffling to me.
Was this in Brooklyn?
Prayers to her child
Woman: I like to make people happy with "my kitten"
Judge: oh you're in that line of job, huh? I won't judge....
God bless everyone on here❤
METONIDIZOLE is NOT AN ANTI-BIOTIC!!!!!
25 kittens a year. IMO that is just so awful. So many animals by accident and strays and I just don't understand adding more so many more per year to sell. Maybe that's just me.
It's all about the money
Judge is like "but you sell them right" I looked the reaction on Judge Milian's face after and I laughed so hard😂😂😂 like the Plaintiff is dumb
