Greetings. Today I will show you in depth the mechanics of springlocks, as well as fixing scraptrap which we all know needed fixing. I have studied springlocks to the point of headaches for years, I have given it all my effort and it's safe to say what's presented is accurate, even if I have had to take some logical leaps as it was the only fitting way to explain something's. I can now crown myself the king of springlocks!
@@ricardosmuts that’s not true, a broken suit isn’t going to be either on or off, there can be on betweens, that just sounds like a lazy excuse to prove a point. Like how a broken flashlight will occasionally become dimmer or turn off, The suit can still be mostly functional and malfunction from time to time. In fact, we see animatronics that are mostly functional but glitch out from time to time in security breach. Hell, the trailer for FNaF three has him glitching on the floor, and he’s clearly been dead for long. Despite that, he doesn’t glitch in the game.
Very cool video! I have some key takeaways I want to talk about tho: -The fact Scraptrap is so inconsistent is a mix of three factors: A lore reason (will get on that later), a redesign reason and Scott's abilities. All ennemies needed to looks fresh and new, hence the redesign, exept Scott's talent had limitations. He tried to depict a more flesh-made William Afton, but couldn't due to human modeling skill issues. As for the lore reason, the ultimate guide tells us that William is barely holding himself together with the suit. This shows us that after the fire, not much remained of his corpse, and he had to find a new suit to be able to stand/walk. This suit is also thinner, so maybey it has greater mobility. -The 'blocky' head in my suit design isn't meant to be worn, this design is based on an alternative use of springlocks, made to hang the costume on the endoskeleton and to ensure stability! Basicaly, it's more like the novels. Thanks for the inclusion in your video tho! -For the eye ring, these are fake eyes made to emulate the look of actual eyes while the performer wears the suit.
I’ll never understand how two metal bars are meant to mimic the appearance of eyes but alright. Also, you seem to be proving bits of my theory with this. “This shows us after the fire, not much remained of his corpse, and he had to find a new suit to be able to stand/walk.” So unless you’re talking about the fire of FNaF 6 which really wouldn’t make sense, you seem to prove some of what I said. My main idea was that he lost a lot of his corpse and he had to find a new suit. Idk, I really appreciate you watching my video. I didn’t think that you’d watch but the fact that you did made my day. And it was a pleasure to have you as a source to better understand this convoluted mess. I think what you’re doing is very cool, and hopefully one day I can grow some talent to make a springlock animatronic as well. Thanks.
Four things :one the people who say that scrap trap is a different type of spring Bonnie suit mean he got it from an abandoned Fredbears family dinner there for all the withering.two how can people put on the feet because they look solid so yeah three did you use an emoji for scrap traps skull because the style screams emoji to me and four can I draw your scrap trap redesign ? I think I might be able to make it look good if yes I hope you like it if no understandable and I respect you either way any ways love you’re content and especially this video it was a huge inspiration for me.
Look, I’ve thought about the feet too, idk, I put them over in the animation to solve this. No, I didn’t use an emoji, but it was a google image. And, dude, I can’t stop you from doing anything, if you wanna make it look better, go ahead. I definitely encourage it. And I’m glad it was an inspiration.
@@-S.F.K.the reason why I asked you is because I just like that I like to get permission from the original creator to re draw the original art work so thank you so much and I will gladly draw your take on scrap trap
But how do they get them in the Spring Lock if there is no Cavity.. do they unlock when there isn't a Person inside?? i dontt think you did this very well maybe you should build one in real to show how this works?
The endo widens, how else do I explain that? The endo is too big on it’s own, but with the springlocks the endo parts move to the side of the suit, so you can go inside. You’re surrounded by the endo. They unlock when people aren’t inside by loosing them. if you didn’t do this, they would not be able to function as animatronics as the parts would be disconnected. I don’t know what you mean by there is no cavity. If you mean hollow, then yes, it most definitely becomes hollow, but only when the springlocks are active. Didn’t the animation show you a visual representation? When you’re ready to address this issue in a way I can understand, I will be here. Until then, do not criticize me if you cannot get your words straight and talk about this professionally. I hope we resolve this soon, have a good rest of your day. Edit: after going over what you said, I think I see what you were trying to say. How does the endo skeleton go through the springlock? Well on a 2d image you cannot see this, but a possible explanation is that there is a hole in the endoskeleton. The spring is connected to the endo, the springlock tightens the spring and pulls it back, and the endo goes through the metal bar of the springlock through a hole. I’m not saying this is the answer, but it is a possibility. It up to interpretation, as Scott never answered many of these questions.
Fun fact: Scraptrap might be a spare suit used by William. You can see this spare suit in FNaF 4 and it is mentioned that there were spare suits in FNaF 3 Phone Guy phone calls. Also another thing is that Steel Wool might have just made a goof when they made VR Springtrap, maybe Scott never wanted them to be metal but Steel Wool did their thing anyway. Steel Wool gave Nightmare Fredbear a white button because of the way one of the FNaF 4 renders of Nightmare Fredbear looked, so they have proven to not be very accurate at making details sometimes, a simple weird eye ring texture might have just met the same fate, but idk. I still like this video though and it's cool, good work! Edit: Oh you did use the spare suit theory, all good
Thank you. Nonetheless, I think steel wool might have taken a good guess here. I just don’t see any other solution to the rings, and why on earth would they be plastic. I am very aware that steel wool makes a lot of goofs, I mean the render of his head is actually purple. Scott is the only one who can truly make the magic of this series shine. I appreciate your support. Oh, and maybe his ghostly pupils just hover over everything. I mean, they don’t look like real pupils,
@@-S.F.K. Yeah. Those are all fair points, but you can actually download some rpertty accurate models of Springtrap for Blender, so you can get a closer look. Springtrap's AR model also looks a little bit better cause they redesigned some parts of him to have less clipping and it shows the endo and exoskeletons better in some parts I think. I don't think Springtrap has hovering pupils tho, but idk
@@MackGall I actually have the blender model it’s pretty cool. And I don’t know why I said “hovering,” I didn’t know how else to word it. I think what I meant was, and I don’t really know if this is what I meant it’s a bit hard to explain, is that his pupils aren’t really a part of his true eyes. If you look at his eyes, they look like they’ve been rotting for thirty years with a yellow tint and arteries. basically, they look realistic. But if you look at his pupils, you can tell what you’re looking at but they do not look like true rotting pupils. I mean, heck, they glow. I think they are seen relative to where you’re looking at them. They look ghostly, the pupil glows and the iris is white, so I do not think they’re a part of the world. Perhaps he projects them. Therefore, you’ll kinda always see them.
@@-S.F.K. What I now believe after having a think is that the glowing eyes are meant to show either his Remnant or his possession. I also realized that William having glowing eyes doesn't really matter very much because the other animatronics don't actually get their eye glow from the animatronic eyes in the first place. It doesn't make sense for Fazbear Entertainment for install tiny little white LEDs or something for them to glow like that, I think it might just be a sign of remnant or position maybe. But that's just my theory that I just thought of. I do agree that those eyes in Springtrap's head are William's though.
@@MackGall I do believe that the original animatronic eyes do have little lights in them, this is to help them see in the dark. Because if it were any other reason, they would look like springtraps eyes instead of little dots. Plus, why is Freddy’s face glowing up when the powers out ok, but dots are too much of a stretch. To add to this, the white eyes are probably a variation to Bonnie’s red eyes. And we also see the red eyes return in security breach along with the white eyes, and we’re fairly sure there’s nothing but ai in that game.
Why have I never acknowledged this comment, it’s hilarious! But, in reality, while TH-cam does have a bit of minor power in the situation, most of the control goes to the creator. The creator can choose to hold comments that might be inappropriate, or simply pick and choose to manually delete comments they do not like. I will never do that though, I believe in free speech and criticism, and will always allow everyone to have a voice. Under no circumstances shall I delete someone’s comment(s.) even if I really wanted to.
I noticed, but the problem was that I speak too quietly. I couldn’t bring myself to lower the music any more, (which I’ve already done) because it would would like a cheap piece of externally recorded audio, which it’s not. By plan is to speak louder in my new videos.

Hello hi
@@ricardosmuts well, it’s an old suit. It’s likely to malfunction from time to time. Or he couldn’t just be too far.
