I admire the transparency on the last point you made. Starting a business is far from easy. Growing a TH-cam channel to 146k subscriptions requires countless hours of work, consistency, commitment, etc.
You've earned the ability to forge these types of business relationships and sponsorships. I'm a big fan of your work, keep crushing it, sir!

Hope you will see a question this long after the video. I happened upon your video from Jul 18, 2020 where you discussed the Worst 5 Tractors You Can Buy. No. 5 was all other tractors except Deere and Kubota. Top reasons were great resale, dealers support all over the country, etc, reliability, etc. I don't think your recent videos have adequately squared this massive departure from that prior recommendation to now recommend pretty strongly a brand new tractor from a brand new company where tractors aren't even available yet in Texas. Yes, the potential is there, the owners have experience, the feature list is rich, and the pricing seems aggressive. But buying a tractor is a major investment, especially when it's an unknown company. Great ideas and promises can disappear especially with the economic rough waters we are facing. This needs to be addressed up front and very strongly to make this tractor join the short list of options. Particularly when you already panned the Kubota BX series as a viable alternative to the 1025R. Thank you.

One thing I could see helping get summit off the ground (and help you too) is having parts and service kits available on your website (a place people trust). Serviceability is going to likely be people’s number 1 reservation with these and the more that can be proactively debunked the better.

After seeing a lot of your videos on the 1025r I bought a 2021 1025 R and 2 of my neighbors bought 1025Rs also I’ve been with John Deere since 1985 In my opinion you should be compensated by JD. I’m calling JD corporate, why are they giving GWT a hard time, JD should be praising you for all the videos you made. Love my 1025 R thanks to you. Great channel never stop watching Courtney!!

Courtney, you are doing a fantastic job with your videos!! As a recently retired (early) auto mechanic and instructor for a private college teaching vehicle repair, I really appreciate the variety and depth of your videos. My wife and I are looking to buy and move to a property somewhere in the 10 - 100 acre range. We are researching all the details about animals and crops and all the equipment necessary to start a farm, and your tractor and attachment videos are very helpful. I like the Summit tractor and their approach and thoroughness and attention to detail with their design. Heck, I might even hook up with them on the training and /or repair side to see what we might put together.
I really appreciate you and your honest approach with your videos about sharing not only your experience with different tractors but all the attachments that there are out there and how they can be used to get things done. Keep up the great work, stay safe and I’ll see you on the next one!

Seems to me from experience... watching these videos of yours, along with maybe a dozen others... Folks like yourself have given us so much more information on the ins/outs of tractors and attachments than the dealerships will ever care about sharing with us. Thank you all for making these videos and earning that unquestionable trust. Summit has given the other brands something to scratch their heads about IMO.

Thanks for giving us some insights into your decision making process and for your transparency. Your work SHOULD be recognized. There seems to be a stigma attached to doing publicity and people want to know if and how you're being paid etc. Bottom line is you're upfront with all that stuff so it's easy to know where you're coming from when you make recommendations. Your channel has always been a favourite of mine for that. Besides, we get to see new toys and equipment a lot of us (I imagine or maybe it's just me) wont get to try and buy in our lifetime! Keep 'em coming!

You’ve got very good, informative tractor videos. With the following you have you could help a lot of people by highlighting the water issue you’re having with your shop. Floor elevation in relation to surrounding terrain. It costs money to build up the site but it’s money well spent. No taper at the edge of the floor at the door, etc. Once the concrete is poured there’s no going back. I made the mistake “once” and have seen it many times. The water needs to stay outside.

GREAT CHANNEL PERIOD!!! Anyone that doesn’t enjoy seeing new and improved equipment and hear real and honest reviews is NOT a real tractor guy!!!! I’m basically a Case/NH Guy but Also own a 7520 Mahindra & a 8100 PST Mahindra across my 10ea tractors that range in size from 33hp to 150hp. That said I really enjoy your Channel and would love to own and try one of the summit 38hp cab tractors when they become available, all because of the fact that you have show cased this new brand on your channel with all the features that Summit includes into their machine. They should have the best compact tractor in the market as long as they will provide enough service and spare parts support. With out service support and parts, how nice the tractor is simply won’t matter. Keep doing what you are doing!! Huge Fan of your Channel!! 👍👍

I can understand the drift out of the low-hour used market for you, but you REALLY had a lot of great tractors for sale/sold over the years I've followed the channel. I had hoped a Summit dealer would pop up in the Midwest, and maybe someday they will, but for now, they look to be a great all-inclusive feature offering, and should have high interest. I hope they are successful with their business plan, and hope to see the tractor used in many of your future videos. Thanks

    • @GoodWorksTractors

One reason was a large dealer network for support. Summit has solved that when they launch nationwide by partnering with tractor dealers around the country to provide service in every area they’re located.
Another reason was that JD and Kubota give more value and, again, Summit has gone above and beyond to provide an overload of value.
Holding resale value…I believe with more included on the machine AND at a cheaper price than Deere or Kubota, it will minimize the depreciation rate experienced by other lesser known brands.
Reliability? Well they all have problems, but this tractor is not new. It’s based on an existing platform from a manufacturer that has been building tractors for decades. The bugs were worked out long ago. Plus, Yanmar engineering has a 30% stake in this platform further legitimizing it.
The only thing constant in life is change, my opinions included.

@@JeepAddict Not sure of your angle on that one. I made lots of money selling JD and Kubota. I still could if I wanted to. I don’t need to sell any tractors though. My business is selling attachments.

It’s a great tractor, I speak from in depth experience. I have worked extensively with the tractor, and I am speaking as a John Deere 1025R owner. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Deere!…but if I did not already own a compact, I would buy a Summit without question. The price is outstanding for the options you get and I have spoken to all the Summit crew, they are tirelessly devoted to their tractors and customers, which is a major benefit. Nice video!

Given that many tractor owners are DIY type folks, it seems to me that something truly innovative, and almost opposite to what Deere and Kubota seem to be doing, would be to truly support and encourage owner maintenance and repair. If Summit would make videos of common maintenance and repair tasks, provide quick mail order parts support, and provide rental tools when specialized tools are needed, this could truly be a game changer for a company that plans to not have a dealer network. I suspect this is too radical a concept for Summit, but I think this could be a game changer. Now, you still need the independent service centers for those who don’t want to get their hands dirty or for larger jobs that many would not want to tackle such as engine or transmission rebuilds, but the same repair literature/videos and tool and parts support that an independent repair center needs is nearly the same as a competent DIY customer could use.

Summit should also consider a "parts only" component to their warranty, where they would ship the parts needed for a repair to the tractor owner, who would then do their own repair. Woodland Mills has this as their only type of warranty, and it hasn't seemed to hurt their business. Of course a tractor is much more complex, so it probably could only work for certain subsystems, not the entire tractor.

A lesser man would have only shown the positive so you could sell it but you were honest knowing that you might get stuck with it and you did it anyway. That's one of the many reasons I trust you. $18,999. That's the current price listed on Summits web page for this tractor. Seems like a question lots of folks are asking, so there it is. Considering the extras included, seems like a good price to me. Now go beat on that thing so we can see how it holds up 😉 Of course I bought my tractor over a year ago now so, unless it's the best thing since sliced bread, I'll just keep the JD. Excellent video. In my opinion, your reasons for buying one are spot on. There is room in the marketplace for another brand to be sure. It really looks like they have done their research on what we all want. I appreciate your candor in the videos you produce. The concept that a manufacturer listens to and appreciates the buyers should be the standard. It sure seems like Summitt is on to something forgotten by the big companies. I'm interested in getting one. I'm waiting for the backhoe attachment to come out but from what I see today, this is the tractor to have. Thanks for a great video.

I've had people I only want a tractor that's made in America like John deere or Kubota. Well I'd like to buy one made in America but like you said no one could afford it. I have a Mahindra 1626 love the tractor it will work with any tractor out there but didn't have none of the options as the summit does. I can't believe John deere wasn't thankful of all the videos you put out on their tractors and equipment but they are like Harley Davidson use to be they said Harley sells them selves that's way John deere dealers around here are. Glad summit realizes how hard you work to show folks products and how well you like them or not . Thanks for sharing be safe have fun

Only things I’m not too crazy about- the rear tail lights look like they might be susceptible to damage and I would like to see an integrated 3rd function vs a diverter valve. The last one is just a personal preference though, I like the way it operates over a 3rd function.

There are so many rebranded tractors out there already. Why buy a Summit when you already have Kioti (Daedong), RK (TYM), New Holland (LS), Massey Ferguson (Iseki), etc with established dealer networks and service centers. There’s a very real risk of Summit tractor buyers ending up with an orphan like Montana, Cub Cadet, or Cabela tractors. The only pure breds out there are Kubota and Yanmar, they both build everything from the wheels up including the engine. Stick to an established brand so you have confidence in future serviceability and resale value.

Cory, it would be extremely helpful to the viewers if you priced out the Kubota / John Deere with all the standard options of the summit. Even the mods….i.e. extra step, mirrors, tool box. This would clearly illustrate this tractor’s true worth. Thx

My TYM has been a good machine, I don't need self leveling or hydrostat, 2 rear remotes minimum, which is why we bought tiny tymy, and 3rd function front end would be great. With the caviot that you could run a 3rd function off of your rear if you have enough. Just my thoughts.

It's a neat tractor....HOWEVER...you're double talking here. Previously, when you sold used tractors, you made videos stating why you should buy green (john deere) and orange (kubota)...the resale value. Someone who buys this tractor will find themselves stuck with it even though they (and they will...) want bigger because resale will be really BAD. My last Kubota I upgraded from, I sold for what paid for it new after 200 hours! It cost me nothing to own aside from fuel, maintenance, and I did add some addons. I don't personally care too much about dealer support for service/repairs as my Kubotas are easy for me to service and just don't break down or have any problems. John Deere's do break down, but you get them fixed anywhere due to dealers everywhere. They use cheap readily available parts outsourced (good and bad thing depending on who looks at it). I hear you about John Deere though...I personally don't like the company...Kubota ANYDAY. Hope it works out for you, but honestly it's an uphill battle as there already are other more well established yet smaller tractor brands aside from John Deere, Kubota, New Holland/Case that offer decent products.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not double talking

Thanks for showing the Summit tractor. Very interesting as it shows it to be a potential future tractor to be purchase. Having said that - have a few Qs.
Is it setup with a Skid Steer mounting system?
Is the ROPS low enough to allow the tractor be driven under a standard garage door?
How does the loader (FEL) comes off? As easy as JD’s or Kubota’s?

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The SSQA is standard, yes. And the ROPS fold down so you can get under a garage door, but just like all of the others it's too tall to drive straight into.

We drop the loader off the 1025r before mowing for close quarters work. Is the loader on the Summit removable? From what I can tell from all of the videos and their corporate web site it does not appear to be.
