    Ok. There are A LOT of things you clearly ignored in some movies.
    1: Mulan stayed for her family's honor. She says that to her father in a sense, as she brings back the sword and medal from the emporer.
    2: Gaston found the castle through the magic mirror. All he had to say was "Show me the way to the Beast." and the mirror would take him there.
    3: Lottie didn't turn into a Frog because Dr Facilier was dead. His voodoo was no more at that point. So the only way Naveen and Tiana could turn back was through kissing a princess.

    • @lilliansheldon4366
      @lilliansheldon4366 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      4: Hercules was turned into a God after saving Meg because he was measured by his heart, not his actions. Zeus says so himself, that doing so made him a true hero. Giving one's life for another is a true heroic act, so it was enough to restore his immortality.
      5: Frolo took Quasimodo in to save himself from damnnation. The "eyes of Notre Dame" saw him try to commit a heinous act. So to save himself, he let him live by hiding him away in the bell tower.
      6: Cinderella's slippers are pure magic. She didn't have any shoes on for them to turn into the glass slippers. Unlike the case for the pumpkin turning into the carriage. It's also not so wrong for the fairy godmother to let her have them as a gift. If anything, they're a symbol of hope. To prove to her that her dream did come true. It also explains why the slippers only fit her.

      In the original story, everyone in the palace is magically put to sleep, and the palace ground are encased in thorns and vegetation, with a magical aura that "repels" people. I always thought it was like a retreat that many nobles/royalty had during that timeframe. It wouldn't be so unheard of for them to go to another castle to winter/get away from palace life. Many such nobles had a specific entourage that would have made the trip. And considering the excess of the French monarchy, it's not hard to see the townsfolk not even knowing their prince was next door. It doesn't exactly state the timeframe for the movie, other than obviously pre-revolution. All those could easily be a factor.

    Alot were fine, but some disagree
    Mulan - Would have brought shame and dishonor upon the entire family
    Cinderella - cause I think the slipper represented her, I'm sure the magic also made sure it fitted only her
    Tangled - Could be bandits, the guards, etc that could caught them if they did try to move out, Gothel was very protective of healing powers
    Frozen - Iduna (Elsa Mother) was blessed by Atohallan as a reward for saving Agnarr (Elsa Father) I'm confused cause you did mention the sequel explained it but dismiss it?
    Aladdin - Well his father was the King of Thieves so maybe cause Aladdin already was an prince technically, the genie can only make him look more like one
    The Little Mermaid - I'm 50/50 on agreeing and not, even if she did wrote down that she saved him, how can she get him to believe all about her real life and I doubt she would write how she feel to him than telling him
    Hunchback - Cause Frollo saw it in an way to make up for his sins
    Cinderella - Surprised this was number 1, the slippers weren't made from anything like the carriage, they were made from pure magic

    In various stories Dwarves have a strong love for gems & precious metals so they probably are hoarding them.
    Mulan is explained by lines like “It is an honor to protect my country and my family.” as her father planned to go due to pride not because he had to and the same for why Mulan stayed. She was consistently concerned about bring shame to her family and so she stayed to try to bring honor to them.
    Cinderella is answered by…. Fairy Godmother magic and the Fairy Godmother playing matchmaker.
    Tangled is answered by Mother Gothel being an idiot.
    Hercules godhood timing is maybe explained by his mental state as he seemed pretty suicidal when he faced the cyclops and didn’t value his life so it wasn’t a selfless sacrifice but when he literally offered his life’s for Megs it was. In terms of noticing his soul being missing if you notice it’s a giant, swirling river so I could see it being difficult to notice the soul of one toddler.

    In the live action Aladdin, Jasmine actually asks Aladdin where his kingdom is since she can’t find it on any of her maps and he has Genie make the ‘kingdom’ Ababwa appear after hilariously showing different parts of Disneyland. He gives him a name, fancy clothes and a parade, but certainly he would give him a royal bloodline and homeland so his kingdom can be joined with Agrabah for peace and trade. True Aladdin is an orphan and it’s later revealed his father is the King of Thieves, but he has no extended family or other connections to royalty

    • @DragonSkyNija
      @DragonSkyNija 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I think because Aladdin whis was just to become a Prince he did became one, but because the country/location Abuwa didn't exist he became more a Prince from no where, and because he didn't knew the rest of the world he couldn't say he Wished to become a prince from a specific country.
      A other thing I think becuse Genie in Arabian culture is a Djinn, even if he is good but because of his nature the wishes he makes will not be 100% exactly what a person wished for and will high change backfire in someway.
      If we look at Jaffar's wishes:
      First he wished to become Sultan sure got the title and everything else but no person saw him really as the Sultan, his Second wish was probably his best one until he got tricked and outsmarted by Aladdin.

    • @AliAngelpie
      @AliAngelpie 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@DragonSkyNija That’s true. Genie does regret granting Jafar’s wishes and he had limitations. It just would have been interesting if Jasmine and the Sultan never found out Aladdin was actually a homeless peasant and he married Jasmine. Now he’s married into royalty, but they may be suspicious if they suggest going to visit his kingdom to meet his family and add it to their trading route. It would seem odd that he’s the prince of a city that’s not real but again it’s Disney and one of its many lessons is to love someone for their heart and not their status. Aladdin lied, but he acknowledged it in the end, he believed he wasn’t good enough for Jasmine because of her position as princess and he can’t provide a life for her.

    • @Skye_Writer
      @Skye_Writer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Right. Returning home after being kicked out of the army because she wasn't up to the standards is basically being dishonorably discharged. It would have been the same for her father, though he likely would not have gone through boot camp like Mulan did because he was an experienced veteran. He'd have been merely sent into battle, where he would have died. And in that day and time and place in the world, that would have left the Fa women without an income or a home. In ancient Chinese culture, when you marry a man you become part of _his_ family. Unless he had some brothers or uncles or long-lost cousins who could have taken them in, Mulan and her mother and grandmother would have been left without a home, because Fa Zhou's wife could not inherit the land and the house after his death. Really, this is no plot hole at all, and even a cursory examination of the original story gives the reason for why Mulan joined the army, why she stayed, and why it was such a big deal when she was found out.

    Mulan aready answered it herself: Besides her father, she joined, and stayed, to prove something to herself
    Also, when it comes to the Beast's age, nobody ever brings up these important details: THE PORTRAIT and CHIP'S AGE. The portrait clearly shows a fully grown person, not a preteen. Also the curse can't be any older than Chip since he's like, what, five or six? I think it'd be a stretch to call him ten. Instead of getting hung up on that one song lyric, I like to think it was simply on oversight on the lyricist's part, or Lumierre was exaggerating.

    There’s a fan theory that Andy’s father was also named Andy. I think Woody was kept as a collectable and passed down in the family, and came to life once he was removed from the box and brought to life by a child’s imagination. That’s why Toy Story 4 is so weird to me, because the toys become autonomous and independent of the child imagination that brought them to life in the first place. UNLESS of course the whole movie was just college-age Andy’s imagination of what his old toys would be up to now that they’re gone.

    Whether Buzz thinks he's a real spaceranger is beside the point. He is a toy and is subject to toy instincts. And a toy's first instinct is to freeze when humans are around. Perhaps older toys like Woody can override this base instinct as he did with Sid, but Buzz is a brand new toy and so can't help but freeze. This is a commonly held theory among die-hard Toy Story fans, I'm sure you've heard it somewhere. There's literally no plot hole there.
    As for why Woody doesn't remember the Roundup Gang. One theory puts it that the original toy (the kind Woody is) wasn't based on a TV show, but was simply a generic cowboy doll. To boost sales, the manufacturers struck a deal with a production company to create a show around this cowboy doll, and that's how the Roundup Gang was born. Certainly there would have been other iterations of the Woody doll that came after the show that would have known about it, but Woody, being the original, doesn't.

    Ariel not being able to write to Eric despite writing her name on Ursula’s contract is an *adaptation-induced plot hole.*
    In the eponymous fairy tale, there was a VERBAL AGREEMENT between the sea witch and the little mermaid, so it made sense why the little mermaid couldn’t write to the prince because it was never established that she could write.
    At least the 1975 Japanese anime version of “The Little Mermaid” had the prince ask the mute mermaid Marina to write her name even though she couldn’t because, as I said before, it was never established that Marina could write.
    I don’t know why Disney thought that a contract would be more preferable than a verbal agreement, nor why they didn’t have Eric ask Ariel to write her name when she couldn’t say it to him. 🤦‍♀️
    Granted the live action remake got rid of the magical contract by instead having *Ariel make the agreement in blood (that is, removing one of her fish scales).*

Even in the 2d animated movie/series, despite being several months after she reclaimed her title, her hair still pretty much looks the same as when it was first cut. Same for the wedding, which takes place even longer afterward.
    As for frollo, my guess is the priest was HOPING that MAYBE caring for another human being, might actually teach him some empathy. Always sucks when people count on that for someone who CLEARLY won't learn, and the child is left to suffer for it.

    Simba & Nala are NOT related! Disney has stated this many times over the years! They even gave Nala a father in the Lion Guard which is canon as they have officially stated.
    Yes, in a real life lion pride all of the cubs are typically related in some way, but in the Lion King they based them more off of humans and so they did not have them be related.
    That is also why they decided against making Kovu be Scar's son in TLK2: Simba's Pride. They wanted the romance between Kovu and Kiara to happen and so they couldn't be related.
    So this stop spreading the lies and actually do your research before talking about something you know obviously nothing about.

    For Zootopia, there are fish markets in the city and one of the the characters were originally going to work in a food stand called Bug Burger, its implied that fish, insects and other invertebrates act like real animals in the Zootopia universe, it also means that the predators eat them, the predators have to eat something, we don’t know if birds, reptiles and amphibians are sentient in the movie either. I imagine the ice cream came from cows’ milk, there are domestic sheep, pigs and horses in the movie, so I think a lot of the cows work in the milk industry(some goats too), yes there’s ice cream that comes from almond milk and coconut milk.
    Who knows why none of the townspeople know about The Beast, enchantment, dangerous creatures in the forest and maybe the people were scared of the castle when they it’s scary statues and dark, ominous atmosphere. I think Gaston knew where Beast lived because he told the magic mirror to show him where he was.
    Maybe Buzz freezes when people are around because the other toys told him to or convinced him.
    Maybe Mother Gothel was a little lazy to move at first but after Rapunzel found out she was the lost princess and found out Gothel kidnapped her, Gothel was going to lock her away somewhere.
    Please, Nala and Simba are not siblings(not half siblings either), this is a family movie, not a nature documentary, yes, they have lions and other African animals living in their natural habitats, yet they have their monarch, a lion becomes friends with a warthog and meerkat(yeah, Nala did try to eat Pumbaa at first), I don’t think they’re cousins either, besides Nala and her mom are not related to Simba, yeah lions in a pride in real life are related to each other but in a family movie, likely both family and friends are can be in a pride. Nala probably lost her dad.
    Hercules might’ve thought that slaying monsters and being famous would make him a true hero. When he offered to take Meg’s place in the Underworld and saved her soul, he earned his place as a god(I guess you could say that sacrificing himself for a person who he truly loves was also part of what he had to do).
    I guess the Good Fairies didn’t plan it. They thought they could help keep Aurora safe.
    Maybe Woody doesn’t like to talk about his old owners or its because his favorite is Andy.
    Maybe Elsa or her ancestors were given magical ice powers by a witch/wizard or a god for some reason.
    Maybe Aladdin even after Genie turned Aladdin into a prince, he still didn’t feel like he was one.
    Yeah, Pocahontas and John Smith understanding each other even though they speak different languages, that’s lazy writing. Why not have Grandmother Willow give them the magic ability to understand different languages?
    It could be that merpeople are vegetarian and eat water plants or maybe clams or oysters, alas probably aquatic plants or even coral.

    For the Little Mermaid... perhaps both the Prince and Ariel could read/write, but language might be different. It might have been part of the spell to make Ariel human, to give her the ability to understand human speech as well as having legs. When Ursula "borrowed" Ariel's voice, she doesn't sing in words, just the melody.

    20. Dwarves are known to horde gems and gold in Norse myth, so this probably an unspoken retelling of that story.
    19: all the animals in zootopia are mammals, so it could be responsibly said fish, birds and insects could provide that nutriets.
    18. It’s a status thing. Firstly if Milan goes home, it wouldn’t be long before people asked questions about where she was, bringing shame and possibly death as her father hints to them. You also got to remeber, even Shang knows Fa Zhu, it’s very unlikely a veteran like that would have to go through the same regiment as the new recruits.
    17: First off there’s no indication that The Beasts influence was that major, for all we know he’s the ruler of a small principality and is probably a relative to a larger monarch. Second, Gaston as the mirror, that’s how he finds the place.
    16. There glass. You can’t stretch glass’s physical perimeters like felt or leather.
    15. Instinct. Most people do things they don’t think about, why should it be any different for Buzz. Toy Story is essentially a kids version of the cave, Buzz is just following the shadows.
    14. Because she felt she didn’t need to. A tower hidden by cliffs and accessible by a hidden door or climbing, she doesn’t exactly need to worry about hiding.
    13. Most lions are, this basic biology.
    12. Firstly, Suicide does not make you a hero. That’s exactly why Herc was out there. Hades tricked him, Olympus was being attacked by Titans and Meg betrayed him. The point of Hercules’s journey is to put aside his desires (becoming a hero) and risk his life because it’s the right thing to do. And for Hades, this version of the god is clearly uncaring to his job, why would he pay attention to the number of souls.
    11. Hubris, it’s a common thread in most stories.
    10. Because as animals, the troupe would not risk moving into the territory of another troupe or risk loosing their food source.
    9. Hubris and he clearly tries to sending the hyenas. It’s not his fault they’re idiots.
    8. Because the spell had a time limit that passed. Once the spell was set, what’s the point if someone who is “royalty” kisses him?
    7. He didn’t have contact with other toys and he has such an emotional attachment to Andy, he doesn’t need to remember.
    6. This one’s ridiculous. First what does it matter, it’s the plot of the movie, so you really need all magic explained in every movie?
    5. Because he isn’t and people do. Jasmine believes his story, because unlike jafar who just took the title, Aladdin puts the effort to show off his wealth to make him look like a prince. But that’s the key word, it’s a show. If the lie wasn’t revelead, what would happen if Jasmine wanted to see his home? There would be nothing to show.
    4. Magic, which is dumb, buts it’s an explanation the movie gives.
    3. Because she didn’t think of it, and besides, why would Eric believe her. If she just out right said she was a mermaid, he would think she’s crazy. Also the stipulation is make him fall in love first then kiss. Just writing in the sand isn’t going to get that.
    2. He was living as a tyrant with no regards for his servants or the outside world. Also nobody said the enchantress was a good guy, she’s only the instagator of the plot.
    For the honorable mentions
    Because it’s connected to Rapunsel not the hair.
    Because he’s been living away from civilization and only knows English for a few weeks.
    Hell, that’s seem pretty good reason to be afraid
    Truckers thought he was a dog
    Clearly not because of what Triton says about humans
    1. It’s a chance to help her. The shoes are meant to help identify her. And if you don’t like it, take it with the story itself, that’s how it goes.

    I know it was just an honorable mention, but the Frollo thing really isn't a plot hole
    It's subtly explained through the archdeacon that Frollo will be punished by God if he kills Quasimodo, and being the religious fanatic he is, Frollo takes this seriously and even asks the archdeacon what he must do

    • @jaclynsanture6643
      @jaclynsanture6643 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, Frollo was killed, by God.

    • @5th_cellar
      @5th_cellar 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'd say there's a slight plot hole there due to the archdeacon supposedly being this benevolent, wise figure and his first thought is 'this guy who just murdered someone should absolutely do penance by raising the baby he was ALSO going to murder.' And he must know Frollo is abusive, but he never steps in to intervene with more of that fear of God stuff.
      This is what happens when you remove all nuance from a character. Movie Frollo is just a racist who fixated on a sexy woman in a weird, fetish-y kinda way and was forced to raise a baby. Book Frollo was an exasperated, doting older brother who took the abandoned Quasimodo in out of kindness and the idea that if he dedicated the good deed to his hard-partying younger brother, Jehan's, name it would get the dude into heaven. He set Quasimodo the task of ringing the bells to give him a purpose, and then taught him a sort of sign language when it made him deaf. Esmeralda was an unfortunate teenager (about 14) who was minding her own business and happened to dance in exactly the wrong part of town and give a 30-something year old virgin a delayed 'awakening,' so to speak.

    • @MorganKing95
      @MorganKing95 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @5th_cellar
      But that's the thing, the Archdeacon and Frollo represent the two contrasts within religion: forgiveness for the former and fanaticism for the latter. The Archdeacon already recognizes that Frollo has violated God's will and offended Mary, but he sees it as a sin to be redeemed and forgiven, as opposed to Frollo who sees every sin as something to be judged and punished
      The Archdeacon may come off as naive, but it's not really accurate to say that it's a plot hole, and you also have to consider that not only is religion different from a "humanist" or atheist approach, the story is set before human rights were properly recognized, so a crime is only treated as truly punishable if it's against the King's will

    • @5th_cellar
      @5th_cellar 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@MorganKing95 I’m aware of what they were going for and when it was set. But, again, they changed so much about the story and Frollo’s character (and even added a new character, seeing as Frollo WAS the archdeacon) that they removed all nuance. Leaving, instead, a weak, heavy-handed metaphor that makes the archdeacon appear powerful and wise one minute and bumbling the next.
      As for the time period, “set before human rights were properly recognized,” falls apart in the face of Esmeralda the SJW. A character very much changed to appeal to modern sensibilities. Not only is she a teenager in the novel, but it’s subtly hinted that she’s fully aware Phoebus is a creepy philanderer who left her to die for his supposed murder and wants him, anyway. She saves a man from being hanged by Clopin, but there’s none of that “justice for the outcasts!” stuff.
      Then, you have to look at the interactions between her and the archdeacon where Frollo is concerned. She’s, understandably, upset that no one outside the church will stand up to Frollo and the archdeacon just tells her to pray about it. And that’s all well and good, but it’s an ineffective attitude.
      He knows he can reign Frollo in from the worst of it by reminding him God is watching. Don’t kill that baby, God and the Virgin Mary are already angry with you for killing the mother. Don’t drag this woman outside the church to arrest her. And, at the end, he tries once more to appeal to a higher authority to stop Frollo from attacking the church. It fails because Frollo is fully off the leash, by then, but what about earlier? There’s a kid growing up abused and neglected in his church, and there’s a hint that Quasimodo isn’t even allowed downstairs when that man shouts at him for it. Frollo even says, outright, when he’s forced into raising him, that he wants Quasimodo locked up out of sight. The archdeacon goes from “where am I supposed to put a baby around here,” to “yeah, bell tower’s fine,” awfully fast, it seems. He hears Frollo call the baby a foul creature and doesn’t stop to second guess any of this? Just goes on thinking this is the perfect penance and a great idea? He’s done enough by stopping the second murder.
      His whole attitude seems to be “people are bad, take it to God and hope for the best.” Which is naive at best, and negligently cruel, at worst, given the circumstances. Like he was so focused on Frollo earning forgiveness that who really cares what happens to the kid so long as it lives, I guess.

      "Properly recognized", as in by the higher-ups in society. Esmeralda is part of a marginalized group, so her role is irrelevant in terms of the point. Society as a whole obviously doesn't recognize that gypsies deserve rights, hence the song "God help the outcasts". Changes from the novel doesn't automatically mean modernization
      Yes, Quasimodo was isolated and neglected, which also means that nobody knows how he was treated. The Archdeacon hence assumes that Quasimodo is alive and well since the bell obviously is being rung, so he has no real reason to assume that there's anything immoral going on
      As for your problem with the Archdeacon's attitude, that's on religion and the time periods, and not the writers, and it's clear that you're looking at things way too much from the perspective of the 20th century
      Also, your assessment overall misunderstand what "plot hole" actually means. A plot hole is inconveniences within the established rules and internal logic, and not problematic aspects from a certain societal perspective. This is why Borat suddenly being filmed when he's broke and homeless on the street is a plot hole, since the movie is meant to be a mockumentary, but the racial stereotypes and crude comments are not

    The creators of Zootopia, Byron Howard and Rich Moore, were very responsive to viewer's questions after the film was released. As many have already noted they explained that fish and insects did not evolve and were used as a protein source along with plants. There's a chain in Zootopia called "Buga-Burger" and when Judy is trying to arrest Nick for lying to her, they pass thru an alley to a wooden fence. On the ground in that alley is a buga-burger container. Also, "ice cream" is made from plant milk like soy-milk. When Judy first arrives by train, there's a smoothie store in the station. With the blu-ray version you can see an item on the menu called the "Coco Nut-Job" that clearly lists "soy-milk" as an ingredient. The creators also never committed as to whether reptiles, amphibians, and birds did or did not evolve and having only said that for this story they wanted to focus on mammals and so Zootopia is only populated by mammals.

    Most versions of the Cinderella story have the same plot hole of the glass slippers that did not revert back to their original form. However, in the book, Beauty, by Sherri S. 5 That's what it seems to me too, The Genie only made Aladdin a Prince only on the outside, apparently, that's something I never understood.
    6Well, since the movie was inspired by the story of The Snow Queen, there was not much effort to explain the origin of Elsa's powers until the sequel.
    9It is precisely for that reason, besides Scar would probably have been caught red-handed, and in order not to risk it, he thought it would be better to send the hyenas to do it.

    The answer to #15, I believe Buzz froze when people were around because deep down he already knew that he was a toy. Why don't people consider that? That kind of plot hole has happened in other stories as well. For example, in "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi," when Luke revealed to Leia that she was his sister, she said: "I know. Somehow, I've always known." There is often a moment in stories where people don't show signs of knowing something, and you don't see how they could have totally known it, but it shows that deep down they knew that it was the truth all along, and that's why they show certain behaviors. Buzz may have denied being a toy, but I think deep down he already knew he was.

And as for Beast's age, I kinda always thought that he was 22 because the rose began wilting after he turned 21.Toy Story; toy instinct/reflex?

    The Hercules plot hole to me seems taken out of context. He was tricked by Hades to give up his god strength for 24 hrs, unless Meg was harmed in any way during that time period. Hades then revealed that she was working for him the whole time because he owned her. He then sent the Cyclops to finish him off and tie up loose ends. He gets his strength back when Meg sacrifices herself for him. He didn't get his godhood back because he wasn't the one who committed the ultimate sacrifice at the time.
    Also, all those decions weren't his alone to make of his own volition in a way, he was coerced, but when he chooses to go to the Underworld of his own volition and chooses to sacrifice himself to save Meg, he then gets his godhood back. The decision of self-sacrifice had to be his and his alone to make with no strings attached.

    You know as a kid watching Cinderella I had always thought about the glass slipper as a plot hole for many years.

      She could also have been found if someone drew a picture of her face, ithe prince could have described how the girl looked he danced with all night. Zfaces are more unique than shoes.
