The idle is way to low. That's why it sounds like shit and that's why it won't stay running. You have to have it at 1000 rpm or oil doesn't get up to the heads it will run like shit or die when its cold.
i would get some stoppers for those forks as priority 1 , see how fast he grabbed them bars before the bars wacked the tank ! nice build but you forgot a crucial part to a build , now what ? pull front end off weld in stoppers ? repaint ? this is why when you build , you dry fit . just saying it would suck for the guy who bought it , to only get home and ding up the tank first day , you know he will .....

@@henryavery4461 oils haven't flowed up through the rocker boxes yet. When Harley's are cold the oil all sinks to the bottom and it takes a few minutes to cycle it through all the oil passages. Not good to push it when it's dry.

But it's a sportster, people are selling big twins in this range. A sportster that needs a little tuning, could just be they like the idle so low. They don't run much oil pressure to start with, I'd imagine idling so low is hell on parts
remove the front fork cover make it look skinny and change to old school bullet head light and change to old school queen king size seat Guranteed ,the bike look more beautiful than what you are now

I’m trying to build one this winter (something to keep me busy) and I wanna build a bobber/chopper that’s loud, sounds good, don’t really care about speed just want something that looks more old school and that I can cruise around town in and maybe take on a road trip
Sportster if that's what you are asking friend. Go for an Evo 1200. I got mine for £1500. Sold everything I didn't need for £1700. Kept the engine, front wheel and front half of the frame. Good luck.

No. Just custom pegs. Mini-floorboards are usually around 5 1/2" long at minimum. I have some on my bike. And believe me, they beat the hell out of pegs, no contest.
j Her the white wall in the rear is a traditional thing from way back. Most Big Harley’s had stock whitewall tires. You got a stocker pulled it apart, chopped or bobbed it put a 19 or 21 on the front but kept the stock white wall on the rear cause nobody wanted to buy a new tire when you already had a good one. After a while it became a “ thing” and is still used a lot on traditional choppers on the east coast.

Your right about the idle. I also don't like the seat. One wrong move and you will be sitting on the fender. I know because I had an XLH 1200.
