    I heard about the type of wiper blade before... but head to find around here. I will be looking for it online now.

      @johnnysweekends  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, most are found online. They don’t wanna sell stuff that lasts.

    I use that spray on everything plastic that goes outdoors for long periods of time. Motorcycle fairings, kayaks, even life vests. I swear by it. The 303 protectant, not rainx.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes , the 303 is one of the best products still today! I remember when it came out and the manufacture actually lived right down the road from me. We used it at boat stores and more. I even used it on every single thing on a old truck like the guy told me to do, including buffing the material into the paint. That thing looked amazing even years after I sold it. I would see it driving around and it still looked great.

    I put a ceramic glass coating on my windshield. Its made a huge difference in both visibility and chatter. No report back on added life of the blades too new

      Regular wiper blades or silicone?

    • @mattbrew11
      @mattbrew11 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnnysweekends I have Michelin silicon blades

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice. More and more companies are making them but stores don’t stock them much. I can’t find a small one though for the rear wiper on my wife’s car. No one makes one lol.

    Great video and idea Johnny! I will be using the 303 on my slide seals. So, I will add wiper blades to the regiment. We are up at 8000feet and don’t have a garage; so our blades definitely get weathered.

      Alan I have been using 303 since I was a detailer in and worked in the boat business I swear it’s still one of the best items out today.
      And I still have that old bottle of rain X 🤣 that bottle is probably 5 years old because it always messes up my wipers.
      But it does sheet water good. But I find as long as you wash your car with a good wash and wax or a ceramic wash that works fine for sheeting water and the wipers will do the rest.

      I also use 303 on my trailer. The whole thing top to bottom. Roof and all 👍🏼

    • @campingalan
      @campingalan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnnysweekends Ok...OK... to know!! Ironically, the tech that did our trailer orientation said we don't have to do anything to the roof; just check the caulking. I really felt that was terrible advice as any rubber item will deteriorate out in the sun eventually.
      Of course, CO is known for great sun, which equates to fabulous rubber deterioration. So, I will take your heed and just get up there and clean the roof maybe twice per year; it is easy to just also wipe some 303 on it too.
      Having said that, we will have a fairly aggressive solar panel system up there; hopefully get close to 1400w on a 22 foot box. That should provide good protection too.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a good solar setup. I will be adding a little as well plus have a portable panel set up as well.
      My next trailer will be fully off grid but will wait till kids are gone lol. This one is good but to big and long for some trails.

    • @campingalan
      @campingalan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnysweekends that is awesome! Yes...we are now without kids, so this will be an off grid set up too. I got 5 batteries during the pre black friday sale of Battle Born; that essentially got us 5 batteries and the inverter and controllers for the price of 4 batteries and an inverter.

    I had the same problem with the Rain X blades and cleaner, streaks, and noise, and it cost 3 times the price

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea I don’t use the rain x spray any more. Haven’t for about 4 years. Except when I just did this video and sure enough my truck and 4runner chatter again. The 4 runner just stopped this morning on my way to work.

    What do you guys think? Do you use those types of blades now? Or add a extra product to help make your blades last longer? What are your tricks? 👍🏼😀

  • @keithroberts5611
    @keithroberts5611 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Any Glass cleaner spray is better than that 303 stuff, Or a bucket of weak solution of warm household kitchen detergent and a micro fibre cloth, For wiper blades and wind shield!!!

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually most all glass cleaners contain ammonia. Which is absolutely horrible for all rubber windshield wipers. And will only destroy then quicker.
      It dries out the rubber and makes them brittle

    • @keithroberts5611
      @keithroberts5611 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Used this method all my life of driving 50years!! With no issues,? The percentage of Ammonia and Alcohol are so small is irrelevant!!!

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @keithroberts5611 if it works then great! Im pretty much staying silicone as they are 5 years old and still going strong…👍🏼

    That's not road dirt, it's actually degrading rubber

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh minimal considering they are “silicone” wiper blades. But it is also dirt.
      And yes like rubber silicone does still contain carbon materials just less.

      Degrading rubber?? What about oil, salt, and other materials such as grit and grime!!🤔
