Really enjoyed this video, all kinds of travel, interesting situations. Your single-handed lock docking invention is brilliant! Patent it. Stuart is my (winter) hometown -- love roaring around the area in a center console. Safe Harbor marina is nice but the marina with the Sailor's Return restaurant is tops in Stuart -- excellent floating docks, and the Sailor's Return restaurant is one of the best eateries in Stuart. Lake Okeechobee can be nasty for sure. The two times I've crossed it we were lucky -- the seas were moderate and we went straight across at 25 knots. You're about done on your Great Loop adventure -- hope you continue to make videos on your next boat.
Wow, almost finished. That first video was somewhat concerning, watching you get started and the apprehensions it seemed you had. Experience is the only way to get better and you’ve had a lot of. My hat off to you, sir.
Boy, things sure have changed since the 70’s when I lived and worked in Ft.Myers! My oldest boy was born there. (Ft.Myers) I worked as a contractor for the phone company so I’ve been to LaBelle, also Ft.Myers main and Cape Coral.
@ if you do you could make tips and tricks for every lock or bridge. Especially the ones where you started and had issues. You may need a videographer to help you document.
Never done it in a lock, but I tie to my rear corner an put the engine back in gear. That holds the boat on a dock. If you have the whole lock to yourself you could do the same thing. Tie the first line to your rear corner with as much slack as you can, then put it in gear. You would swing off that line in to the wall an sit there. You would just move backwards as the water went down. But that assumes you have the space and a lockmaster who lets you both tie and leave your engine running. Have you thought about getting one of those tiny 12V heater/defrosters to put on your dash blowing up. Had one in my car in high school. They are useless for heat but they put out enough to clear the fog on a window. The one I used was long before cars had that button to have it warm up before you got in it. It cleared my windshield enough to see, an I was half way to school before the cars heater started working. The time spent waiting for heat was spent driving down the road, not sitting in the driveway.
I have a question: Do you take any medications daily? My Dr's require me to see them every 3/6 months to get refills, it might be hard to do the loop given this. Getting refills from a pharmacy might be tough also.
We were planning on the loop however my wife has NMO and she needs eye injections periodically. So we would have to have here fly back or find eye care along the route.
Have you opened that boat up at all? I know your boat buddies are on trawlers but you’ve been running in low rpm for a while I wonder if that’s bad t]for the engine?
What an amazing adventure. It has been so cool to follow your journey. Thank you for sharing.

We need to hire you to teach us how to drive. Hate this trip is nearly over but hoping you do another soon. - Casey
Thanks Casey.

Got to admit, the lizard clip was pretty funny. Good luck on the home stretch!
What did you see for depths going into punta Blanca
Pulled up to that fuel dock like a "boss"! Little different that those early days on the loop. Great job.
Thanks 👍
You are an amazing sailor! A one man band!
Wow, thank you!
Nice video as always, you seem to have mastered the locks. Are you going to do another loop?
Possibly!

I noticed a zerk fitting ( grease ) on that water pump. It appears to not have had a shot of lube in awhile. Check it out.

@@RLoose9494 Yes, I do 2 different injections every 2 weeks. One would be no problem, the other would be.
I understand completely.

Diesels an 4 stroke gas engines are not bothered by it. 2 stroke gas engines hate idling around, an will give you problems doing it.
I noticed that on the port side of your boat the railing is bent. Did that happen on the loop?
Are you stopping in Melbourne, Florida on your way north?
No.
I enjoyed this video as well. Do you still plan to sell your boat after you cross your wake? It seems to me she is ready for another loop.
Yes.
@@MV_Checkmateyes to another loop or selling
@@7iron707 selling her.
Amazed that you would move your fenders before Indiantown at that Speed. On camera it looks boat id moving to fast.
It was moving at 6 mph. Cameras never seem to depict accurately
Did Not So Fast cross their wake?
Yes.
I bet they were celebrating!
Correction, auxiliary drive pulley.
more gas burned in those few boat going by at speed than you did on the whole loop
I know, right.
I’m not the glove police or anything but that could have been a painful lock if you really got thrown around.
Yep.
Ha, I'm the first viewer again! And first commenter. Now, I have to watch the video.
You're the best!
