I was fortunate enough to see a grand prix that year. Those Cosworths were absolutely singing down the straight on Ile Notre Dame.
You’re a lucky man
God I miss turn 8 at 20K rpm! That was such a great track!
Engine Technician: how high do you want the Rev limiter to be?
Williams in 2006: yes
Yes mate haha
"What's this 'rev limiter' thing you keep talking about?"
@@Jejking the 20,000 rpm limit that this car was hitting
@@yoville73 Sorry mate but the joke went over your head (:
@@Jejking that was a joke? I was none the wiser to this.
F1 at these times was insane.
20k rpm and not even breaking 300km/h.
The first year of the V8s were rev machines but had hardly any torque.
But more rpm more horse power right??

@@Volvoman90 reallyy???🤔
@@Dsky-vu3nz Really. 300km/h was just about reached at Monza and Spa.
The Williams Cosworth cars had 20 DNFs from 36 starts.

Yess👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember perfect times it was in 2006 when McLaren Mercedes made a record archiving 21 rpm. It's proven by telemetry.
there i saw this video?
Now imagine a fictional 2.8 V10 revving to 23k rpm
Its soo awesome broo🔥

That triple apex… geez.

Is the TC for traction control?
They had tc back then? And I thought people complained modern cars have too much tech
TC doesnt make you flyby the opponent and they complain about it too.
And I thought my Rotax 125 MAX EVO was screaming at 15k...

Yes
what circuit is this?
Istanbul Park Circuit in Turkey. :)
Awesome footage but these captions ruin it
Oo sorry... do you want video footage without captions?
We had 20,000 rpm once... Now we have 20,000 amperes....how said is it...
20k amperes doesn't sound as fantastic as a 20k rpm internal combustion engine, right??
@@Dsky-vu3nz definitely not!!!
