- Where is the best place to thrift? The truth is, you can find great stuff everywhere. Here are some examples of things I've found at estate and yard sales, local thrift stores, and goodwill bins.

You could embroider some flowers over the paint stain . Then you wouldn’t have to cut up the table cloth.

Omg that is a good idea! You could do some vintage style sunflowers or daisys!
Other ideas: Cut a strip off the narrower end (re-hem) then cut a patch corresponding to the pattern and appliqué it on.
Also, for smaller paint stains, what I’ve sometimes done is just dab on paint in color that matches the fabric. Acrylic paints from the craft store work well, don’t wash out and are available in lots of colors.

I wonder if the round woven things are basket lids and the loops would have been part of a latch to hold the lid to the basket.
That’s what I thought! Bummed the baskets weren’t there, although they would have been difficult to bring home from Portland 😂

Hi Alli, I love your videos! Would be interested in a video about eliminating clutter. I try to be clean but my house never looks as put together and cohesive as I’d like! Many organizational videos focus on purchasing new storage items but I also try to be low waste.

Where do you get the solid steel mason jar lids? The canning lids drive me nuts too.
I hate to recommend amazon, but if you google "stainless steel mason jar lids" you'll find them there. The exact ones I purchased aren't available anymore. I've had mine for 3 years and they still look the same!

A belt makes it a bit too short right now, but it might work after I let the hem out!
I do the same with jar lids. I freaked when I learned peanut butter/mayo lids fit on small mouth Mason jars.

Just happened upon your channel. You got a fun and eclectic haul. I never thought about changing out the canning lids for solid ones; great tip. And I used to work for Goodwill a few years back; and you are correct. Although the general rule is to run items through the stores first, as you mentioned, the donation centers can get overwhelmed and stuff is sent directly to the bins. In fact, around Christmas is one of the best times for fresh merchandise overflowing directly to the bins, and lots of it; due to the sheer volume of donations coming in around that time. One customer ended up purchasing a vase for about a buck, which he found out later, was worth around 14k; and that's not an isolated incident.Still a win-win however, for the charity and customers alike, as it keeps folks coming back to donate and shop, again and again...Thanks for sharing your great finds.

Love your haul. I also have been the Portland bins back in Jan & it is by far the best one!. I've been to the Seattle, Santa Ana, and LA but Portland has the best inventory :)
