I love this version. All the other "8 bit" covers are just people using a MIDI though GX-SCC and calling it a day. This would be even more epic with VRC6 ♥
Look into Famitracker. You have certain amount of channels that can only play one frequency at a time with different wave shape. You control their settings by commands. This is the way how music was created for old console games (like NES). And the fun part about it is to make it sound as good as possible, while having these limitations and primitive "instruments". P. S. Yes, I know this is an old post, but I am a big fan of such music, so I felt I still needed to answer in case if the person still cares or someone passes by this comment like I just did.
