    We DONT WORK with Specialized! Only a few copies has ever been sold in sweden! we had about 3 in so far and done videos on those. Its a good ebike but if you buy a Specialized ebike you most like WONT be able to buy a new battery when you need it since they usually only Sell spare batteri 3-4 years after the bike is released and the battery usually last 4-5 years and cant be repaired. Well Of course they can be repaired by reverse engereering the specialized system but it cost about 11,2 miljon dollars so no one will do that. It might be different in their homemaket in USA but if spare batterier are not in production they are NOT AVAIBLE.

      This is factually wrong - I just checked for the Specialized Levo. The first generation has been released 2015. Seven years have past since then and you can still buy a battery online, delivered within 2-4 days. I then got curios and continued checking for older models: Specialized has made its first E-Bike in 2013, called the Specialized Turbo, and you can STILL buy a battery in 2022! Not only that: You can buy a battery now that has WAY more power than the one from 2013 and yes, it does fit to the old bikes. Stop spreading lies.

    • @NemoNobody0
      @NemoNobody0 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nicolozak you fell for a lie from @The Battery Doctor. Research by yourself or read my comment above: You can still get batteries for the first E-Bike Specialized has ever produced, you can even get a battery with MORE power now then the release version had in 2013...

      @@NemoNobody0 e-bike battery has to be repairable, not repairable means more garbage in our planet and less sustainability, Europe have to change rules for CE requirements on lithium batteries.

      @NemoNobody0 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nicolozak I agree with you on that, but this goes for all E-Bike manufacturers. The point of discussion was that @The Batter doctor stated that Specialized E-Bikes would be obsolete after four years, claiming they would not provide batteries for sale after this period. According to my research this is wrong.

    Or any way of creating a smaller backup battery to take?

    Hey Doctor! We need to hear if you got this battery alive again? I had the same issue! But the bike drove OK for 35 to 40 kilometers.. I talked to LBS and he advice me to firmware upgrade the battery.. My charger worked and I could charge the battery.. but the bike cut off at 30%.. I measured the cells and have 3 cells with 0.2V under the other 7 cells. After the FW upgrade the battery is dead!! It flashes red in 5 of 10 pixels and the test software says replace battery. (before fw upgrade the bike worked) So specialized killed my battery :( Now im charging cells individually.. But software is still locked to this dead battery state. Have you had any success in charting individual cells?

    The red blinking is normal - It's waiting for an input from the rider to switch to "start" mode - I.e. it's booted up / ready / Armed - it will switch to run status once a load is put on it . If you have a big resistor sitting around or anything to discharge with - put a load on it and it should switch to the charge status and mode indication . The really "stupid" part with this pack is that it does not care if the drive unit is connected or not - it simply does load / draw etc . . .

    • @veryconfusing

      @@user-ib5sq6kx7d These batteries have a behavior where the controller will bring the battery up to a ready state but the indicator will flash red until there is a draw from the motor. I'm not sure how this is programmed in the controller but it is a bit strange as they do not seem to that all the time. It may have something to do with not being actively paired with the app. You can trick the battery into going "green" by briefly putting a load on the leads that would connect to the motor - or just plug it directly to the motor and test. I have never found a thorough explanation of this mode just vague mentions of it somewhere on a troubleshooting forum. I rebuilt two of these packs after insulating and sealing around the controller board. I replaced all the cells in both packs and charged them equally to about 60 percent prior to sealing the packs back together then charging them. Notably I have no knowledge of how this controller "exactly" works but I was willing to try it as I had nothing to loose as both my packs were working but would voltage dip in a few miles and cause a shutdown. ;) Overall - the design of this pack seems great except for the control board buttons which in both of my packs ( including a non-recalled one ) was open to allow water in.
