Google “Fritz Beckhardt”. He was a German, World War One, ace fighter pilot who adorned his aircraft with swastika, considered as a symbol of good luck in that era, both in Germany and the USA. Prior to the rise of the National Socialists, a book was published in Germany titled,”Judische Flieger Im Weltkrieg” (Jewish Flyers in the World War). Ironically, the photo that adorned the dust cover of the book was a photo of Beckherdt seated in the cockpit of his Siemens Schuckert fighter with his “good luck” swastika painted on its fuselage. American World War One fighter pilots, in French service in Lafayette Escadrille, all flew with a swastika adorning the headdress of the Native American warrior that was the symbol of the squadron.
The reversed one also represents positivity - Goodwill and well-being. The tilted one is the Hakenkreuz (hooked cross) which represents Jesus's revival after being crucified and later used by Hitler.
The same symbol can mean different things to different people. Why did you accept the "new" meaning of "rainbow" and let go of the meaning you like? The Rainbow Coalition is still going strong and it's not about gender or sex at all. It's about diversity. But the Rainbow coalition and the gays aren't fighting over the friggin word. This is a bit erroneous. Tilted and without dots, as well as both right and left facing, is found within dharmic culture. I say this as a sadhaka myself
