Crows Enjoy New Treat

Since it has gotten absolutely frigid, I put out a new treat: (salt-free) rice cake, slathered in peanut butter (no corn syrup), then dipped into the high protein fruit and nut mix.
The first crow fills his beak and gullet, then the second two more casually snack after sharing some really cool cooing and calls.

Mine are ravenous for a pile of fresh raw hamburger… never seen them go so crazy over it.. 2 of them grabbed and took the One lb pile away in about 3 trips back to feed the babies… simply amazed at their actions…

Love to know what the treat is also! I am mostly paralyzed except for one hand and arm. My caregivers make things I call Egg bites for the crows! What it is is eggs oatmeal little soy milk mixed together put in a small pan put in the microwave. When it's done my girls cutting in a little bite-size pieces well Crow size pieces! The crows go crazy for it and the starlings and the bluebirds and the scrub jay! It stinks being paralyzed but it's awesome because I have the luxury of being able to be with the birds all day!!!

That’s so sweet, Laura! I’m sure they love it. I’ll give it a try (but how long to microwave?). This was an unsalted rice cake with a thin layer of peanut butter, then pressed into a Lyric brand fruit and nut mix. 😋. I’ve found they prefer meat and eggs, so they’re probably happier with your treat.

I love crows they are so smart and always doing something interesting. I would've loved to know what the treat is. I have a crow couple that live around my yard. They know me and I'd love to give them a good treat 😅❤😊

I mix peanutbutter with birdseeds, oatmeal and raisins. My crows love it! (Starlings are also fond of it.)
