  • A short video about a day out in London for the 2024 European Astrofest. It's a big conference with talks and all sorts of vendors and exhibitors, and this year they hosted their inaugural imaging competition sponsored by Celestron. My image of the solar system planets was shortlisted and exhibited at the hall, unfortunately I didn't win, but it was really nice to see among some great astrophotos. Also, you may now call me Commander Ivana!

I think all shows should have a competition like this, it was fantastic to see so many good entries printed out in a nice large format. Cracking image of the planets by the way!!!!

Looks fascinating and I love looking at optical equipment and observatories.I visited the North Pennines Observatory in Allenheads, Northumberland a few days back not actually inside it just looked at the buildings on the outside and camped out on Killhope Law (673m),a mountain on the Co Durham/Northumberland border and an amazing view of Scorpius ♏'s claws at 0500 as it was so dark there plus I even picked up the galaxy M51 in my 8x25 Opticron monocular.

It was a great Saturday. Gutted I couldn't take time off on Friday to attend the talks but the ones on the weekend were super. Your photo of the planets is great. Great detail.
