It is! I love mine but you are quickly finished since theres not a lot of room. My gf wasn't initially thrilled about the aquariums but the 32G is now one of her favorites because of all the action in it. Its in the dinning room so we enjoy it a lot.
I didn't know it was OK to add oak leaves to a tropical fish aquarium. Do they lower the pH? Do you know if they have medicinal properties like Indian almond leaves? Where is the LFS fish store?
- Yes it's ok to add oak leaves or other leaves/seed pods (commonly referred to as ''botanicals'' in the hobby) and lots of people have been doing it safely. Not all botanicals are appropriate so some research must be done beforehand before adding random things in the aquarium. I need to add that proper care (washing, drying, treating, boiling) is necessary when adding collected botanicals to any aquarium, a practice that is also recommended for purchased botanicals. - The potential pH change is negligible for the small quantity of leaves added here, it is something more frequent when adding large pieces of wood. - I haven't read proper research papers reporting medicinal properties, it could be possible. I added them mostly for look. - My local fish store is situated in the province of Quebec, Canada. If I remember correctly you mentionned being from Ontario in a previous comment. From my knowledge they don't offer shipping and would be too far away from you to justify a trip. However there is a shop in Montreal called Aquarius that could be a reasonable trip. You can also easily find the supplies online from Canadian suppliers. However, I have tried none so I cannot recommend any at the moment.
Can you recommend stores in the Montreal area where I could find a great selection of spider wood, dragon stones and aquatic plants? I go to my local Nature store but I'm sure there are a few go-to places where they have a better selection and more reasonable prices. I plan to get a Flex 32 like yours this week.
Yeah Nature is good for a large selection of items but I often find them quite empty in terms of hardscape. I would recommend that you try Aquarius store. I'm always impressed by the pieces of hardacape that they have.
@@DoAqua Thanks for the tip on Aquarius. According to their website they seem to have some stuff I'm looking for such as Monte Carlo plants and such. It's little far from where I live but I could make the trip once in a while. Great find.
@@CarcPazu same for me, not the easiest to go to but always a treat! I've heard of a few other stores that are also nice but haven't had the chance to properly check them out.
@@DoAqua I finally made the move. I just came back home with a Flex 32 and $140 worth of maple stones. Unfortunately, I didn't find the spider wood I was looking for. Most of what Nature in Pointe-Claire had was for terrarium, not made prolonged submersion. Maybe I'll hit Aquarius soon. I need to build a cabinet for the tank first, I don't like theirs.
Do you have an aquarium with botanicals (leaves, pods, etc.)? Are there some botanicals that you think I should add in my scape?
Looks nice 👍
Thanks Reuben! :)
Just an awesome setup 👍👍👍
Thanks Skull! :D
Sweet set-up! I'm trying to convince the wife to let me get the Flex 32. I love the Flex 9 but it's very limiting.

@@DoAqua Ahh - LFS = local fish store 😀
Yes! I'm sorry for the confusion 😅😅
