Some facts and explained references about the song:
- The videoclip's feast part was shot in the living room of the bassist.
- Right before Odin enters, there is a Hebrew part that is interesting on multiple levels.
1) It is a bent version of a quote from the Bible. Originally it's "Shema Israel, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Ehad", which roughly translates to "Hear Israel, the Lord is your God, the Lord is one".
2) It is obviously bent to fit the Norse theme of the song.
3) The exact same thing is written above it in Hebrew, correctly. It makes sense, since the bassist speaks Hebrew.
4) The bassist speaks 7 other languages and has a PhD in Astrophysics.
5)
- At the ending there is a line "falegn-amen". Falegname means Carpenter in Italian.
- Systembolaget: the only place you can buy alcohol in Sweden in order to fight alcoholism.
- Permafrost: a layer of ice that is stuck to the floor.
- Amon Amarth & Hammerfall: two Swedish bands. Amon Amarth is death metal, Hammerfall is power metal.
- Slayer of the giants: the giants attack the humans and Thor protects us.
- For the plunder and the rape (...) for the chopping of the heads: what vikings did.
- For Normandy, Britannia, Greenland, Scandinavia: places where the vikings were.
- For Nicaragua & Azerbaidjan we don't sing at all: the vikings were in Europe, so they didn't know where Nicaragua (Central America) or Azerbaidjan (Transcaucasia) were.
- Shema Yggdrasil: it's a reference to the Torah, where the original is Shema Israel (listen, Israel). Yggdrasil is the mythical tree that connects all the worlds in the Nordic mythology.
- Odin eloheinu: "Odin, our god" in Jewish.
- I'm a gentle god: a reference to the extreme Swedish politeness nowadays compared to their viking past.
- Master of IKEA: IKEA is the most known Swedish company, and even has the same colors as the flag of Sweden.
- Gloria patri furnituribus in nomine IKEA: a slight reference to Powerwolf, a German power metal band that usually sings in Latin and uses church organs in their background mixed with metal. It also makes sense, because they're Italians and Latin was what Romans spoke.
- Beddinge and Kivik: a clic clac sofa bed and a modular sofa.
- The pencils and the meatballs: things you can find in any IKEA.
- Knopparp: Swedish for doorknob.
- Ora pro nobis: Latin for "pray for us".
- Besta TV: a sideboard.
- Knisa grey: an armchair.
- Sasha Grey: a pornstar.
- The movie in the background: it's Trading Places (1983), starring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, and it's considered as a Christmas comedy.

Knopparp is not Swedish for doorknob, it’s a 2-seat sofa from IKEA.
Trading Places is an Italian Tv tradition on Christmas Eve.
Knopparp is not a doorknob, it's a small village in Sweden, all sofas are named after places.
"Systembolaget" is the Swedish alcohol monopoly. State owned.
Systembolaget is the only store allowed to sell alcoholic drinks that are above 3,5% and yes it is state-owned.

Sadly, not anymore. They kicked him out some time ago, probably because Angus McFife died in the last album and Chris Bowes "needs" a new singer for a new role.
@@MetalRock92 It would be okay for this reason. But they said there were 'organisation problems'. Maybe because Thomas Winkler is a notar and wouldn't give his business up... But I'm just guessing. Anywaym they announced a new lead singer yesterday and he will take over the role of Angus McFife.. It's a real shame. I loved Thomas and the charisma he filled the role with; saw them live a couple of times and it was always a joy to see him but I wish new one just the best...
Oh, and Grailknights announced a cooperation with Thomas Winkler, so maybe we wil se a lot more of him. I think they would work awesome together :D
The best part is that Odin is just Angus McFife with an eye patch.

I can sort of see his reasoning - I don't imagine that the guys in the band are making a ton of money, particularly given the limited touring opportunities of the last couple years. Not to mention that Chris Bowes is probably the one earning all the songwriting royalties.
They’re from Italy and yes, lasagne is traditional Christmas dinner.

Angus Mc Fife, prince of the land of Fife, noble and true with a heart of steel. Thomas Winkler is along with DIO, one of the best singers i have ever heard. You can hear the incredible vocal range of this man in songs like Hootsforce and Amulet of Justice
Nanowar of Steel is a comedy heavy metal band from Rome, Italy
I had the pleasure to chat with nanowar in dusseldorf after the concert, they are nice and funny and gattopanceri (the bass player) speaks 10 languages. A great pleasure to remember one of their concerts in Turin 12 13 years ago and they said "but in those years we sucked, now we have improved and we suck less". And at the concert we Italians were in the minority and the German audience even knew the songs in Italian!
Gattopanceri666 is also a founder of Nanowar of Steel, machine learning specialist and worked hard in astroniomics stuff (thats why Uranus is so acurate in describing cosmos).

Nanowar of Steel - Norweggian Reggaeton next, please! And "Odin" in this video is Tomas Winkler a.k.a. Angus McFife (ex. Gloryhammer). You definitely want to check out Gloryhammer. It is also a parody band, like Nanowar, - but in a different vein. They [used to] tell the AD&D-esque epic story of the kingdom of Fife and its prince Angus McFife and his feud against the evil sorcerer Zargothrax as it unfolded throughout centuries and dimensions. A good place to start would be The Unicorn Invasion Of Dundee, which is the opening song from Gloryhammer`s debut album Tales from the Kingdom of Fife

Well, I first listened to this amazing piece a few years back and every time I am in IKEA it plays non stop in my head! IKEA should be paying them!

Nanowar of steel come from Italy and I am very proud of them
They changed the hebrew prayer from Adonai to Odinai and Israel with Yggdrasil (the Tree of life in the norse mythology) and That's brilliant! ( shema israel adonai elohenu adonai ehad more or less "Liste Israel God is our Lord, God is one ....to Listen Yggdrasil Odin is our Lord Odin is One)
And for non italian speaking the "Falegn-Amen" joke, "falegname" is the italian word for Carpenter.

Norwegian Reggaeton does have some multilingual-ness going on, so make sure you've got the captions turned on for it. (Honestly, captions for Nanowar of Steel songs are pretty much always a good idea.)

One of the motifs in the "let us pray" segment is the old song "Amen" from the Sidney Poitier film "Lilies of the Field."
as a side note here, both Amon Amarth (Melodic death metal with a heavy influence of the Viking era) and Hammerfall (Power/heavy metal) are Swedish metal bands.
Nanowar are from Italy, but the song is sang as if the main character is from Sweden. It's opera.

Great italian fun Band with great musicians. Although it´s only a hobby for them. they all work full time in normal jobs.
The Name "nanowar of steel" is a multi-reference to the well known Metal-Band "Manowar" (obviously) and the name change of another italian Metal band (Former "Rhapsody") to "Rhapsody of fire".
They do all kind of stuff. and they mix music-styles like no one else. check out "norwegian reggeaton" or "Barbie, milf princess of the Twilight" also great is the Song "uranus" - one of their latest songs is Called "polenta Taragnarok" it´s in collaboration with an very popular italian tv-cook and it´s about the north italian Dish "Polenta Taragna".
Most of their songs are sung in english with Swedish or Norwegian phrases. Sometimes a little bit of spanish.
Polenta Taragnarock is the first song i heard from them all in italian. and in my opinion one of their best songs ever.
This is a band you never know you needed in your life until you finally discovered them xD
The guy singing odin in this video Angus McFife is also the leadsinger of the british fun-Power-metal Band "Gloryhammer" you definetley should also check out some of their songs.
I´d recommend the songs "gloryhammer" and "hootsforce" they are hillarious.

This is what you hallucinate when you drink a mix of expired eggnog with alcohol. So glad i'm not the only one who noticed the same cliffs that were used for the MCU Thor Ragnarok's Odin scene too.
So actually I subscribed to your channel about a year ago. This band Nanowar of Steel is from Italy, this is their style, just making things hilarious but in an entertaining vibe.
"Norwegian Reggaeton" or "And then I noticed that she was a Gargoyle" are my suggestion songs to react to from this band. Hilarious again with many references 👌.
I have tons of suggestions actually, in different genres, mostly metal and blues rock but also some soul or mixing genres bands. But I guess you have plenty of suggestions so I don't even know if you would ever get to do all of them 😅 And I have like 20 or more 😅.

Obviously it's a music video. The track was recorded ahead. But that's Mohammed Abdul (real name Valerio Storch), the guitar player of Nanowar of Steel, wearing a yellow ikea personnel outfit and a Pippi Longstocking wig. And he is the one who recorded the guitar part and solo, obviously. Anyway, in the videos, he usually does something weird during the solo. Like in Uranus or La Polenta Taragnarock
