As a German native speaker I can shed some light on the lyrics for the interested reader. Already in the Video is mentioned that "Du hast" means "You have" and "Du hasst" means "you hate". So depending on how long the lyrics are before they are repeated it seems like he sings. "You, you hate, you hate me" Then it turns the song around when it is followed by "mich gefragt" Because then you know it's "You have asked me" And surprises again, when he follows up with "und ich hab nichts gesagt" what means "And I said nothing". And the "Willst du bis in alle Tage..." Part is the text of the german wedding vows. Which ends by repeated "No! No! No!" 😊

    • @BeOtterMyFriend
      @BeOtterMyFriend ปีที่แล้ว +25

Almost yes. But it's not just no, you can hear an angelic voice in the background going "yes" (timed with the pyrotechnics from above) and then they sing "no" (pyrotechnics from below). So he doesn't know. That's why he says nothing.

    • @BeerElf66

I'd taken it to mean that he's been backed into a corner to make promises he can't keep. I wondered about society's expectations forcing him, to live a "normal" life.

and in the lyrics it says 'Du hast' in the context of you have. If it would mean you hate, it would be 'Du hasst'. the extra s in the words makes a big difference :)

You don't need to be in the front row to feel the flames, it's unreal how far that heat can travel, I was about 20-30m from the front and I could feel it on my face. Du Hast is one of their most popular songs, I think everyone knows how to sing it, when this song comes on it's no surprise they let the crowd sing so much of it. Even in my country where people are more metal fans as a whole than fans of individual bands, the crowd was quiet for a lot of songs, but not this one!

    • @tomaac

oh yes, those fire pillars metal bands usually use are insane heat. I still remember being in one of Metallica shows and they used those fire towers and i could feel the heat from them in the middle of the stadium. I cant even imagine what it feels like on the stage right next to them.

I saw Rammstein for the first time in the early 90s in a tent in Vienna in front of maybe 1000 visitors and I was already enthusiastic back then. I was maybe 5 meters away from the band and there wasn't a spectacular show back then, but Till breathed fire and the music was awesome anyway. I never would have thought that a German-speaking band would one day become absolute world stars. In 2022 I saw Rammstein again, this time with 35,000 fans and currently there is nothing that can compete with the show. Lindemann is also a trained pyrotechnician and that also explains the stage show.

he shoots what's called a "comet" (small pyro). once it's out over the audience, their pyro person triggers "line rockets" which are exactly what they sound like, similar to bottle rockets but they are attached to thin wires so they fly in a specific straight direction.
When they reach the stage, they pyrotechnician then triggers what are called "air bursts" which are basic firework pellets wrapped up in cling wrap, along with the flame cannons to give the explosion.

Fun Fact: Flake - the keyboard player - was talking in a podcast a lot about his daily life in the band. The dirty, black, rusty paint on their skin used to be coffee powder. And because skin absorbs it, he started having extremely hard times falling asleep atall sometimes. But he wanted to keep applying the coffee powder on his skin, because they would use literally the same costumes throughout month long tours and their clothing was never washed. He said the smell of the costumes were disgusting, so he gladly applied the coffee powder. He said at some point he started using coffein free coffee powder :D

It's a shame the video is edited so much. Rammstein shows really don't need that. Yes, the lightning is fake. There's also a bunch of trickery with the saturation of the video to make the fire seem more intense, and a lot of slow motion and such. All things combined it's not really a live video anymore. And their shows are impressive enough as they really are.

Normally I listen to classical music (Hildegard of Bingen to Malcolm Arnold). But "mein Herz brennt" also for RAMMSTEIN‼️
By the way, your reaction was great. You are very friendly and I was laughing with you watching this clip ... 😅 👌

Saw them live 4 times and they're AMAZING!!! Best show ever! Each and every time! They're just the best!!!! 💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🧨🤘 I saw a lot of different performers (rock, pop, classic,... you name it, I saw it!) and Rammstein is just the best! Their show is a new level, something no one does! And if it's an open arena - be ready for a heat wave, it's hot wherever you're standing 🥵😂💥🔥❤‍🔥 And the crowd is the safest from them all! Everyone is so friendly and just celebrating to be a part of Rammstein family!

Feuer Frei is another good one. BTW, the title translates as "fire at will" in English. During the American Revolution plenty of Continental Army soldiers would have understood German commands since Baron von Steuben trained many units of the Continentals.

Speaking of flame throwers, you should watch Feuer Frei from this show. And for the vocals, check out Fruhling in Paris.
As for your reaction, it's always cool to see someone unfamiliar with Rammstein being shocked and delighted by them for the first time! I've grown up with their music, and have been to several shows throughout the years, seeing how much they've grown and perfected their craft. And yes, Till's ability to overcome his stage fright and come out onto the stage every single time makes all of us love and respect him so much more!

The German metal band Rammstein brought 1,350 tons of stage equipment into the stadium to build a stage fit with fire cannons and its own elevator. The equipment was flown in on seven 747 planes from Europe before being transported to each city on 90 semis.

"How did they do that?". The weapon in his hand is a pyro launcher (like rocket launcher). The rest is called rocket on a string. Pyro effects following a previous connected wire. So he shoots up in the air, the rocket on a string in the same red color go from the stage to FOH and from there return other rockets in golden colour to the stage where they "explode" in gold rain.

It's hard to be sure but the "return fire" seem to be sliding on wires, a much used way to "shoot" at people or things in movies.
A metal wire is used as a guide so the projectile [firework] has only one way it can travel.

  • @Bollalillo

The weapon was probably filled with flares designed to curve upwards and die out quick.
The flare effect coming back is most likely guided by thin wire to hit the right spot

A relative worked in an arena they played in. He said the 'manual' for pyro etc for most bands runs to several pages. Rammstein's is thicker than a stack of bibles, and Til knows every item!
