Building Bourbon Barrel Bars

A friend of mine recently acquired a couple of Bourbon Whiskey barrels from a local distillery ‪@CaseyJonesDistillery‬ , and he asked me if I would convert them into bars. He is keeping one and giving one as a gift. Very rarely do I do commission work, but this one sounded fun, so I agreed. There was a lot of work in just removing the rust and corrosion from the metal bands, not to mention all the drilling, screwing, and finishing to make these barrels into what you see here.

Thanks Kevin! I bet you’re correct on your Devil’s Cut theory! They looked pretty rough. I don’t have any robots myself, although I have a lot of friends and fellow makers that do. I love how they expand what can be done in a shop. Thanks again for the kind words!
