Hey Gus I comented about six months ago saying how much I wanted one of you signature guitars and after six months I finally saved up enough and I’m so happy
I remember this guitar. I think it was 95-96, you came to our house and you were jamming with my brother (Dimitris with the yellow ibanez). Back then our small house in Papafi, was something like a jamming session room! I was mesmerized that a15-16 year old kid could play so well. Nice memories !
My first electric guitar was a 1983 BC Rich Bich I got new in 1983 when I was 13 years old. The color was ultra-violet which was a flip flop type pinkish purple lol. Had Kahler trem on it with DiMarzio Super Ds. Sadly I was playing a show at a club one night and it was stolen. Miss it so dearly. Glad you still have yours!
Yeah don't ever sell that! The Newer re issues just are not the same! I Have an RG 550 from 91 the Neck is incredible on it. My newer RG doesn't feel the same.
That was a great gift from your father. My first Electric Guitar back in the early 80’s was a very very cheap Les Paul Custom Copy. It was not a good quality. My second guitar was a Ibanez, this one was OK. I sold them a long time ago.
GUS I see why you treasure this Fender guitar so much, beautiful and the meaning behind it even better.( I LOVED TO HEAR YOU PLAYING FROM A PERSONAL LEVEL AGAIN).My first guitar was a Fender candy apple red Strat in 1975 (I THINK A LATE 60'S MODEL) when I was 15 years old.I was turned on to Black Sabbath that summer and some older guys started teaching me lots of Sabbaths riffs and songs and we played the old Sabbath cassettes in their cars at night cruising the small little summer town of North Carolina that I was in for the summer! THX for sharing!!!💯👀🔥🔥
I still have my first electric guitar, a Azalea Stratocaster black since 2008 and still work it with D tuning. And my acoustic guitar Tenson since 2007 than my Dad bought me to play in my music class in the school.
Love it. I still have my first guitar. A Memphis Strat copy that I played to death and wore the frets out. Sitting in my studio now. I'll never get rid of it. Awesome video, Gus.
Awesome guitar Gus, I love it! My first guitar was a 1981 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Tobacco Sunburst) and I still have it. I've been collecting guitars more recently but the first one always will be special to me. Keep rockin' Gus, you are awesome!
My first guitar was a KH2 from Grass Roots. Back then it was the low budget line from ESP. We had a small ESP Customshop in our town and my father went with me there and bought it for me. I was so happy! From this day I was addicted to guitar. P.S.: This guitar also had a licensed Floyd Rose on it and I learned to hate that system with time. Now any guitar I buy must have an Evertune! A real epiphany to me! *lol*
I have heard people who love, and people who hate, the evertune bridge. I am attracted to Solar guitars and noticed a number of them come with evertune's. Is it hard to restring them or something? I will try and find a video here on TH-cam about it.
@@saltpeter7429 It´s not hard. It´s the same as a fixed bridge. Evertune is really simple and has just one downside. It has less sustain than a fixed bridge. For me it´s not a Problem. If you see the Videos on my channel you´ll see that I do not run out of sustain but you better know that before.
I OWN MY FIRST GUITAR AND I STILL MAKING MODIFICATIONS TO HER TILL THIS DAY. IT'S AN EPIPHONE SG 400-PRO. I VE GOT MY OTHER IBANEZ GUITAR, SUPER SHREDDY AND ALL THAT STUFF, BUT EVERY TIME I GRAB MY SG IT IS LIKE GOING BACK HOME. I AM SURE YOU KNOW THE FEELING. ΓΕΙΑ ΣΟΥ ΡΕ GUS ΑΛΆΝΙ!
Awesome Dad you have. My first guitar was an import Strat copy that I bought at a local shop, along with a terrible circuit amp that had zero gain and distortion, all for $120.00. I saved my paper route money in 1983 to buy it.
That guitar sounds great! My first guitar was a white Stratocaster, I don’t have it anymore, sold it so I could get a Jackson Soloist that I still have.
Gus, you are my idol. I have even started vacationing in Greece (not this past year) because of you and I plan to move from the USA to the south side of Athens in a few years. Black straws only with the frappes because of you. Rock on, brother!!!
Cool Video Gus! Indeed a very good guitar for beginners. My first one was a Squier Strat for like 200 bugs back in 95. i sold it after two years to get a Jackson RR. I still own that Jackson and never tried any other brands since hahaha
Im glad that you still have that guitar! the thing i regret most in my life is that i sold my first electric guitar, it was an old Levin Strat and it played so smooth and clean. So i think the phrase "young and stupid" fiths very well in why it's not here with me today. . /Lars
That's awesome, really cool to learn and see you play your first guitar. My first guitar was a Hohner Rockwood LX90L which is a strat copy budget guitar. A friend of mine had it and never played it so he just gave to me at 20 years old. It was such a gift as I always wanted to.learn to play. Once he gave it to me, I had to.learn... now at 37 I am grateful for that gift. I still play my original guitar sometimes and this year I plan to do some upgrades to the pickups and add a humbucker on the bridge as well as getting it professionally setup. Like you I will always keep my original first guitar!
I'm an American born Greek, I don't know if that has something to do with it... You are by Far my favorite guitarist and human and there are some super talented guitarists who are good people out there today. But you my friend are top* notch.🤘🙌🙌🙌
First guitar was an ESP LTD EX - 50 that i put a EMG 81 in the bridge, it was stolen, one day from my car. Its sister an M-100FM is still with me as my oldest but without pickups at the moment. Just scored an Edwards Alexi Pink Sawtooth that im getting his EMG put in, I have your Red LTD - 200 with Lace Alumitone Deathbucker and regular in, thinking about putting your signatures in at some point.
My first guitar was 100 euro and came with a book, a tuner, an amp, plecks, strap and music stand so it wasn't the greatest guitar! It was a strat shape in black called an SX traditional hand made... I swapped it for a pedal a couple of years later when I got me second guitar an ltd ex 50! I love that guitar to this day! Bought it in 2004!
I also had a floyd rose equipped guitar early on (although it wasn't my first guitar but my second one), I remember the first time I tuned it, I didn't know how it worked and messed up the whole tuning and didn't know how to get it back in tune 😂
Awesome guitar! My first guitar was a Kramer Baretta as i was 16 years old! Now i am 64 and i have some different Guitars! My most playing guitar is a Jackson Scott ian signatur. Greetings from Frankfurt germany!
Gus G. rules! 🤘 I wish I still had my first bass. I bought it back in 1988, it was a Kramer Aerostar ZX70, I couldn't afford a good bass amp, so I ended up getting a Gorilla TC 35 guitar amp. My first Guitar was a 1970's Giannini steel string Acoustic. My second Guitar was my First electric. A black Charvel 100 model super Strat with the dual humbucker EMG's, with the Fender style tremelo and the reverse pointy Headstock. For amplification I bought a used Create 200w dual channel combo amp.
that was amazing! so cool of you to share those memories with us, man! wow! when you play that guitar its you 15 years old all over again! I wish I would have never gotten rid of my first guitar, it was a G&L legacy, I got it for a 100 dollars and got rid of it for a low end Jackson dinky reverse just because I wanted to be cool like megadeth and I had to have a Jackson because that's what Dave and Marty played lol! that's how 15 year old kids think sometimes lol! thanks for the memories Gus, Your Dad is super cool, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for the storry. My first guitar was a elektric washburn, also with a Floyd rose system. I couldent play it at home, my dad did not like my playing, lol. So the guitar was at a frinds house, and then somebody set his home on fire.
Hi. Yes, i still have my first good guitar too. It’s a 93 LP Studio with an Ebony fingerboard. And im about to buy your signature Jackson San Dimas, the one with the mahogany body, hope i will find a light one.
Awesome video. I'm catching up on your channel so I just saw this today. My first guitar was a black 1994 Fender USA Strat. Just single coils. I still have it but don't play it much. I will never sell this. Why? Because like you said too many great memories. I gigged with this guitar and played lots of SRV and Hendrix. I actually used it for a Halloween costume and went as Jimi Hendrix with a mini amp. I was performing all night. Crazy fun. If I only had pics and videos.
I still have my second guitar (the 1st was a no name called Lamba) which I consider as the first! I was 16 years old and was a brand new fender stratocaster bought by the money I collected from the carols in resent years
Man, I got my first guitar just this month, a Fender Strat sunburst , and I love it, it's my first guitar so the learning curve is a bit high but I am having a lot of fun atm and trying to keep motivated, your video makes me feel like keep practicing , Thanks! :)
Those guitars are highly sought after these days. When you do find them for sale people are asking a lot of money for them. I have a candy apple red one, I love it. Cool video!
Hi GuG!! Beautiful sentiment behind this awesome guitar!! 😊appreciate you’share this with us. And you re great full feelings towards ya Dad! ! That Stays! Yea! ❤️ the sound you pull out this 🎸 and your pro fingers running trough those strings! Are like the sound of a waterfall 😅 My 1st guitar was a cheap acoustic one but then we had the ‘real deal.. Les Paul!! This one costed about 2000 florin lol😂 about €800 nowadays. we jammed in coffee shops ( our own shops) I was about 16 years ol, young😂but then about 14 ye ago it was stolen after my partner died. We’ve seen a lotta shows but i didn’t pickup another one for ‘real’ who knows... ❤🎼⚡️
In 2007 I was playing drums in a wedding band where your dad was singing, that's how I heard about Firewind. At first I thought he was just kidding when he said that his son was a world class guitarist. Then he brought me a Firewind CD...
Awesome! my first guitar friend had a squier strat! he taught me some of my first riffs, lots of Iron maiden and some classics like led zeppelin and Kansas, 1987 or so, around the time of Iron Maiden's no prayer for the dying, great album, great memories, kids learning guitar finding other kids who play guitar and just being young and enjoying great music, wow!
Gus as you get older you come to appreciate how much and how fortunate we were to have parents that made so many sacrifices for us. God please - I really hope your dad is still with us and can see your success
I have one of the Dave Murray Strat Signature guitar, It has a Floyd and 2 hot rails. It sounds so good for everything. I mostly Death Metal riffs on it lol.
Love it man. I just built a strat, but not happy with the neck because I'm spoiled by Charvels. So going to buy a used charvel neck and stick on it. It has 3 emg single coils and it sounds great. Japanse body. No trem. No floyd I mean. 6 point gotoh trem which I just have against the body and don't use. I have floyd guitars for whammy stuff. 🤣.. Very cool kind sir. Thanks for sharing man. Really appreciated my friend!
My first guitar was an off-brand no one outside of France has heard of but it was a strat knock-off really. I'm currently in the process of doing a full upgrade of it, hoping to have it done soon as this is the only guitar I have which only has single coils so should be a nice change from all the humbuckers ;)
Fantastic! I have a Fender Stratocaster myself, same colour body, maple fingerboard. Mine doesn't have the Floyd or humbuckers, though. They are shred monsters, though I'm no shredder. Lol Great story & love the neo-classical links.
Yeap I know that 1...cause I happen 2 have the same 1... mine is a 2000 reissue, swapped out the pups 4 my favorite super distortion in the bridge, area 61 middle & a virtual vintage heavy blues 2 in the neck...my 1st love as well 🎸💣🤘!!!
Hey Gus, I've never liked Floyds either. Have you ever tried a Kahler? I've always liked that you can turn a Kahler 2300 into a fixed bridge. And yes My first axe is a Hondo 737 Les Paul copy. $125 back in 1989 from my brother who bought it brand new and gave it to me from my 17th birthday. And I just had my first amp, a Crate G20c, fixed. The Hondo has the most interesting harmonics. Love it!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Hey Gus I comented about six months ago saying how much I wanted one of you signature guitars and after six months I finally saved up enough and I’m so happy
Thanks🎸
Your dad is a hero! Beautiful guitar.

His dad made a great investment. Shout out to all the parents out there.
Both stories were great... The one spoken and the played one. Thank you so much dude for existing!

My first was a Epiphone LP Gothic, don't have it been through a few since then but my heart is with my Jackson KV2-F
This has me remembering my dad buying me a used rg 550 ( first guitar) in 1995 or so and i will never sell it, thanks dad (rip)
Yeah don't ever sell that! The Newer re issues just are not the same! I Have an RG 550 from 91 the Neck is incredible on it. My newer RG doesn't feel the same.
I still have my first guitar that I bought back in 1982. An Arbor Les Paul. Still all original. Same pickups. Never been changed.

Rosewood fretboard is one of the best ever made. One hell of a Father and an incredibly inspirational gift/Father❤

I wish I still had my first bass.

It was a great bass to learn with.
My first guitar was a Fender Stratocaster american standard. I replaced the bridge and neck pu with hot rails to play Iron Maiden
My first Guitar was a 1970's Giannini steel string Acoustic. My second Guitar was my First electric. A black Charvel 100 model super Strat with the dual humbucker EMG's, with the Fender style tremelo and the reverse pointy Headstock. Geez. Your first guitar was cool ! Mine was a horrendous Squier starter pack where if I bent a string I'd see the tuning peg unwind.
What a dad Gus! Hope you nick-named one of your axes after him and thanks for sharing.
Can’t beat the strat sound !
I still have my first guitar i bought back in 93 . Its a Jackson Kelly still.looks pretty new.
I have this same guitar, only in black. I love it🤘🏻
Thanks for the storry.
Killer axe! Even better story.

So true. And yes, Papa G is alive and well and very proud. As I am of him
Sounds killer man! What an awesome guitar! Youre Dad rules!!!
Always loved those Dave Murray Floyd strats 🤘😝🤘
I have one of the Dave Murray Strat Signature guitar, It has a Floyd and 2 hot rails. It sounds so good for everything. I mostly Death Metal riffs on it lol.
I think that it’s GREAT that you still have your first guitar! Sadly, while I still have my first acoustic guitar, I don’t have my first electric.
Everyone should keep and preserve their first 3 guitars imo.
Man, I love listening to and watching you play! That was some beautiful stuff bro!
I still have my first guitar that my dad bought me. It is a bronze series B.C. Rich Warlock.
I have a BC Rich Warlock. Once I saved up enough money I bought a Gibson Lespaul Studio. Smashed the Warlock but I still have it.
Cool story! Thanks for sharing!
I love your new jackson sd1 guitar
KUDOS to your father man! Away of his time for psarokwstena Greece
And yes
My first axe is a Hondo 737 Les Paul copy.
$125 back in 1989 from my brother who bought it brand new and gave it to me from my 17th birthday.
And I just had my first amp, a Crate G20c, fixed.
The Hondo has the most interesting harmonics.
Love it!
Oh so lovely ❤
Such a cool pickup configuration for a Stratocaster!
Beautiful guitar and sound!
