Because of Riot's storytelling, Valorant's lore is not that known even to its players. You have to dig through the hints they give in voicelines, character cards, even sprays, and most importantly the agent trailers and the cinematics. So here's a list on what you need to know Valorant's lore.
1. Valorant is a game depicting the battle between two worlds. They are called *Alpha Earth* and *Omega Earth.*
2. Because of the two Earths, there's also two sets of agents belonging to two Valorant organizations. Alpha Earth agents belongs to *Valorant Protocol* while Omega Earth agents belongs to *Valorant Legion.* The difference between the two is that Valorant Protocol is a secret organization who are even considered fugitives by the people of Alpha Earth(12:37) while Valorant Legion is considered as heroes(39:04), kinda like the Avengers, of the people of Omega Earth. The story is also told mostly via Valorant Protocol's perspective. This is also the in lore explanation on why one agent can exist on both teams at the same time and why there's a team of Attackers(Terrorists in CS) and a team of Defenders(Counter Terrorists in CS).
3. Valorant agents themselves are also divided into two categories. The *Radiants* and the normal humans. The Radiants are agents with superpowers like Jett, Phoenix, Yoru, etc. while the normal humans are agents like Killjoy, Raze, Brimstone etc. who mostly use technology.
4. In Valorant there's this event that happened 10 years ago before the Duelist Cinematic(00:50) called The *First Light.* This event gave some humans superpowers who we now call Radiants. This event may have also gave birth to *Radianite.*
5. Coincidentally, 10 years ago a company in Alpha Earth called *Kingdom Corporation* first discovered a substance they called Radianite and subsequently used it to power Alpha Earth's technology. (btw Omega Earth also have their version of Kingdom called *Kingdom Industries* )
6. Due to some as of yet unknown reasons, Omega Earth is running out of Radianite and so they are attacking Alpha Earth to get their Radianite. They use the device called as *Spike* (Bomb in CS) to syphon off the Radianite boxes that exist in the map's sites. Its the reason why you plant the spike in site as Attacker and why you defend the sites as a Defender in order to prevent the enemy from stealing your radianite.
Here's some miscellaneous facts;
- Alpha Earth's Radianite is colored green while Omega Earth's Radianite is colored orange.
- Out of the 8 maps in Valorant, 7 are located in Alpha Earth with Pearl the only one located in Omega Earth.
- Fracture(20:54) is a weird map in that it is half Alpha Earth Fracture and half Omega Earth Fracture. This is due to some incident that a certain French gun guy caused resulting in the map being half greenery and half desert. You could also see this in the colors of the Radianite boxes present in the sites.
- Excessive exposure to Radianite apparently results in unusual feats of strength and sometimes it may give you a permanent superpower, effectively making you a Radiant.
Finally I highly recommend you to watch Sovereign Guide's breakdown of DRX vs FPX. It shows you how Valorant is played on the highest level even among pros because this was played in the semi finals. Its widely considered to be one of the best, if not the best match of this year's VCT(Valorant Champions Tour) because of how neck and neck both teams were.
Also just to add onto the reason Omega earth is stealing radianite,
-After First Light, Omega earth's climate began to collapse. On the Portuguese coast, sea levels were beginning to rise so high they they were on track to completely submerge coastal cities far beneath the ocean surface. Kingdom Industries (omega) and the VALORANT Legion (omega) worked to encase several settlements in geo-domes, keeping them habitable as the Atlantic eventually rose far above them. This is how the Portuguese map, Pearl, came to be.
-In the Shattered cinematic, we see Reyna, Killjoy, and Neon entering Omega earth to get back the radianite that Omega earth stole from Alpha earth. The VALORANT protocol initially suspects Omega earth is stealing the radianite to make a weapon, but as Killjoy hacks into the system in the cinematic, she says "it's a life support system." We then find out that the radianite that Omega earth took is not for a weapon, but it's to help with their collapsing climate. At the end of Shattered, we see the comic/magazine depicting VALORANT protocol (alpha) as Alpha Threat. On Omega earth, they see Alpha earth and the VALORANT protocol as enemies, trying to steal the radianite that is pretty much the only thing keeping Omega earth alive and functioning. This is why Neon asks if they are still the good guys, because they realise that Omega earth is trying to use the radianite for survival and Alpha earth is seen as the enemy.

Also there is the part of the lore where in Kay/o's original time line the humans fought a war against the Radiants with reyna being their "queen", resulting in that earth getting destroyed and Kay/o escaping to our reality after finally killing the Reyna of his original time line
Im pretty sure that orange radianite is just superheated radianite, the difference between normal radianite and it's superheated version is that the superheated radianite is more unstable but also gives you more energy
@@knhosh786 Not exactly. Even in the wiki there's no mention or hint that Omega Earth's orange radianite is meant to be superheated radianite. It's just noted as an unusual difference between both worlds.
Looking at the textures of the boxes, there is no difference other than the color, indicating that it might just be design choice to differentiate each world.
In the duality cinematic, I think you missed the post-credits scene, where they show where the "other" Phoenix went after escaping....

You missed the ending of the killjoy/viper/Phoenix cinematic. It's duel earths. The other team from Omega earth.
I'm in my 30's and I've been playing CS:Go for years and started Valorant in 2022 and I can say Valorant is better.
There is a running inside joke that Cypher (the one playing chess) dies in all Cinematics and trailer he's in. That's why they made that scene in 30:21
Super short version:
Two Dimensions, Two Earths.
Alpha is the protagonist, Omega the “bad” guys.
Agents from Omega started invading Alpha’s Radianite, with the bomb (spike) they got it, and that’s why Venice is floating. When you play the “Terrorists” are Omega and the Defendants Alpha. After reactivating a dimensional portal, they get to Pearl (underwater map) to search why Omega is stealing the radianite, they think is a mass destruction weapon.
Then Killjoy realizes they needed it because Omega's earth is collapsing, p.e. omega builded a shield to protect Pearl. So then Alpha starts to wonder if they are the good ones.
Also when you play on Pearl the Terrorists are Alpha.

The girl with the blue hair and lightning powers is named Neon and the characters themselves are generally referred to as "agents." Also just a heads up you did spell Harbor's name wrong in the chapters. I also see there is some confusion for you between Reyna and Fade, they are different, the one where Cypher(chess guy) was getting stared at by multiple cameras and Neon was taken into the earth was the reveal for Fade, the girl with the grey aesthetic and black and red utility, Reyna is the purple girl who is one of the main three agents at the start of episode 5 (shattered).
That’s not an incorrect way of spelling the word harbour. Harbour without a “u” is the American way of spelling it. Same as the word colour.

he's from a third dimension where radiant and human are at war and reyna was the leader of the radiant, kay/o was built just to kill radiant (Kill All Your Oponent)
after he ended the war by killing reyna he go travel to other dimension to prevent the war from happening or to kill all the rouge radiant if the war end up happen
The Kill All Your Opponents is just a second acronym. The a tual one is so. withing like Kingdom Anti Yield Operative, may not be exactly like that but pretty sure it is

An interesting fact about how Valorant approached cheating: wallhack is literally a part of Sova's abilities. There's no point in it anymore if it's legal.
Of keeping an anti cheat system? Also wall hacks are not legal. Sova's recon dart is only for a few seconds and you need to be LOS (line of sight) for it to mark you. Wall hacks give information about the person 24/7
It's also an initiator to give info for the team. Also Root's Vanguard system, which is the anti cheat you have to install to play Valorant in the first place, is very good at banning cheaters. It's not perfect but it's good.

So bascially, theres alpha earth and omega earth. Alpha earth is the radiants that we see, and omega earth are the "bad radiants" we see. In the shattered cinematic, you can see at the end they stumble upon a shop with merch for omega radiants because they were on omega earth doing that mission, and in the shop it said alpha threat.
In reality, there is no good and bad but they view eachother as that. The main goal for alpha earth on missions is to stop omega radiants from stealing their radianite which is a high power source used for many things.
Thats why killjoy in the shattered cinematic questioned what theyre builing in omega earth with all the radianite theyre stealing, assuming it was a weapon. However, as she claimed its not a weapon, it's a life support system as we see on the trailer for Pearl. Due to destruction from climate changes, the entire city was going to be flooded, so before it did they created a life support system which is why the city is under water. They arent bad guys, theyre just trying to steal radianite to survive.
csgo is csgo and valorant is valorant ... The gameplay is diff, the playstyle also diff so dont compare. Enjoy what you want
the core gameplay is the same. i say core because they are both a plant the bomb or defend from bomb plant sort of games but the things you can do are way different
Valorant Agents(characters) also has their own respective origins or countries like Jett is from Korea, Sage is from China, etc.

I mean there too different it's that simple, i'd argue Valo requires more skill just due to the fact you have to be more reactive due to the hero abilities but it's 100% a harder viewing experience if you don't know some of the Agents in it where as CS is so basic it's a better viewer experience than most games on the market some 8 months even after this video.

I think the name is just coincidence. The guy Harbor was with knew that the relic would attach to someone that interacted with it so he brought him along. I think at least

Because unlike CS, Valorant actually has lore. Making it better in a story telling tense and actually giving you characters to know and possibly relate with in some way.
@@Grimm196 wtf?! that doesn't make any sense. How can you simply judge something without even trying... a simple trailer won't make you think that CS is better. They both are multi-player tactical 1st person shooter game and you gotta know and try what's the difference and then you can decide if it's better or not. Watching a trailer won't make you relate with the game you will just find it a ripp off. And the lore is just a side story of the characters that has no connection to the gameplay. This is not a single player story mode game...
@@jamesnalo4408 Valorant has better lore standards, which makes it better than CS in that part of sense. Also how exactly is the lore disconnected from the game? Duelists creates the map Ascent. Duality literally gives a lore reason of why the same agent can be on both sides. Also also, the lore is what has been giving the new maps and agents. Just for instance Fade. She was their blackmailer and once they caught her, Brim allowed her to join the Valorant Protocol to help her find the guy she is searching for and also because she useful as an ally. Why even include the "this is not a single player story mode game"? Like no shit sherlock.

It's a real chat, but the audience i have on twitch was mainly build off when i played genshin. So none of them play or know what valorant is.
