The rings argument is kind of flawed or else bill russell would be the greatest ever. In terms of skill and being extremely fun to watch as a fan he’s easily top 15 but I feel like people have been shitting on him way too much and not appreciating his skill level because of his Brooklyn and Phoenix years. It's more so that Durant needed the Warriors vs Durant needed Steph. It wasn't just Steph. The Warriors had other pieces as well but more importantly what they had was a system and a clear identity on how to maximize their stars. He needed the Warriors system to win a championship. Think about how many teams have had top tier talent but either lack the coaching to run a good system or lack a good front office to get the right pieces to compliment their top talent or lack locker room leadership to get players to be on the same page and playing together to win. When Durant came to the Warriors those were things the Warriors already had in place. He just had to come in and be a superweapon. This is where he shines the best. All the other teams he has been on have not been that where he can just come in and the system and leadership is taken care of and he can just come in and be a superweapon.
