Very true like I’m an OKC fan so he will always be cupcake to me no matter what but his legacy is permanently tarnished nobody takes those championships seriously after he left a championship caliber team, that mostly lost an embarrassing fashion in seven games because he played like shit for half the series then he leaves for already the best team in the world to make them essentially unbeatable yet he wants respect for that

@ispeakfactsbruhif anything it was an insult to Pippen. You do understand that any player in a Finals series can win the MVP. Iggy won MVP of the '15 Finals when everyone knows Steph should've won and he should've had one of the two KD has. KD's job in the Finals was made easy because of the attention Steph gets and Steph still had great stats. Playing along side Steph makes any player's job easy.

Chuck's career doesnt look that good at all unless you're glazing him. He's actually worse than you think KD is. He didnt get anywhere with Philly and requested a trade. He got to the finals with PHX and conceded to MJ even saying that he admitted MJ was better back then.
Then he requested a trade to the Rockets who had gone through Chuck twice in a row to get 2 championships. Chuck had blown a 2-0 lead and then a 3-1 lead to the Rockets before requesting to be traded there. Do yall even do your research or just back him because he trashes KD?

      @ninocrown3247 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

Well they made a huge mistake, especially since Oden had injuries in college at 7’1 280. I always heard because the Blazers had Lamarcus Aldridge, who was playing at an All Star level at that time, they needed a center not a PF.
Same reason Portland chose Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan in 1984. They had Clyde Drexler at SG and needed center, Hakeem was a sure bet, but went #1, so Bowie was the 2nd best center in college and was taken at #2. Like Oden he had injury issues in college. Portland made the same mistake twice, 20 years apart 🤦🏾‍♂️

The Nets WERE dumb for letting the go, but that's not the only reason. The Nets had a good thing going in the 2020-2021 season. Guess what they did? They kept Steve Nash as HC and let Ime Udoka leave the coaching staff and go be the Celtics HC.
Ime goes there and causes a scandal, then the Nets try to get him back after Steve Nash shows us he wasnt meant for the job. But they let the Celtics talk them out of hiring him. Then the owner was a complete idiot who was trying to find any reason to have an issue with Kyrie also.
They themselves werent exhausting. What's exhausting was the media and haters that needed to have something negative to say day in and day out about ANY team KD is involved with post-Warriors. Reality is that a lot of NBA players are in the top .005% of the population of skilled ball players. How you mesh with your team, coaching staff, and how you match up against other defenders and teams matters the most. Durant is a fantastic player but he drops off some games and is usually on a team that has critical mismatches that can win games but not get through the Finals with ease. Personally I think his career would have been so different if Kobe, LeBron, and Dirk weren’t playing at the same time. That, and if GSW kept him and moved Draymond out instead.

Well neither Steph nor KD are great leaders. Draymond was the leader of that GS dynasty, which is probably why they tolerated his antics so long. Steph just gets a pass, but when Draymond is acting a fool on the court, Steph is usually recorded walking away with his mouthpiece hanging out his mouth in frustration or sitting on the bench sulking, sometimes with a towel over his head. Steph just gets a pass for not being a good leader, where KD didn’t.
KD’s legacy probably would have been better if he stayed in OKC or settled in GS to win 3-4 chips. But between Draymond saying they didn’t need him, the Team President making that slick comment about KD at the championship parade and people constantly doubting him as a “real Warrior”.

I can't down KD for being a great player who isn't the team leader. Jrue was the leader/driver for Milwaukee, and Giannis was the engine. Steph has the luxury of being the best shooter, Franchise player, and just happens to play PG. That's like being Magic with Birds shooting/scoring ability. No one's taking that spot, and someone will catch hell trying to replace him when he's gone. KD is KD. Period! He's always been the same highly effective, highly efficient, and highly productive superstar he is today. He's wise enough to know that doing CP3's job would destroy his love for the game. Even Steph learned how to let Draymond facilitate for the team, so he can be free to just play the game the right way. Leader is not for everyone. MJ needed Pippen to be the bridge between he and the team, and both Kobe & Shaq needed Fish & other vets to do the actual team leader thing because they were competing for #1 offensive option. KD is the ultimate weapon because he is good at everything. He's just not a natural TEAM leader, just the most dangerously versatile "go to" weapon on every team he's been on. Beale was a hideous trade. He's been a lone wolf, like Dame, for his whole career. He's had complete autonomy without true help. He was the Box Office draw. It took CP3's pure PG leadership to stabilize Phoenix, and they've been lost without him. It's D-U-M-B to build your team around 3 wing players who can average 30, but have no PG running the show through a Big. It's a poorly constructed roster, and you're asking scorers to facilitate. Scorers facilitate THEIR offense 1st, which is why KD's best option was he, Booker, CP3, and Ayton. That combo maximizes point production because that's 80-100pts per game without including any others. Age got CP3. KD & Book need a Center or PF & a PG. There's no balance, just space. You can't give scorers space AND the ball for 4qtrs. They'll play well, and lose games the would win with a floor general & a presence in the paint. A floor general takes complete command in crucial moments, waving off scorers, in favor of dominating the flow of the game & the clock. They're calling specific plays to get specific shots that draw fouls or stress the defense into positional mistakes. Scorers don't see the game that way. They're gonna score until it's over, then look at the scoreboard. You can't demand a player become who he's not. Some things are natural to some people, hence Steph deferring to Draymond. Steph is a PG because he was too small to play any other position, yet too good to sit or cut. Let's have more perspective. It's the old "unwilling or unable" question.

7:00 defense does indeed win championships- 90s bulls, 80s 90s pistons both some of the best defensive teams weve ever seen.
80s LAL sure they ran teams out of the building but you have to get the ball first in order to do that = good defense. 80s BOS- tough team defense. 💪

KD does realize that by getting him you have to give up assets. With no assets it's kind of hard to succeed. If they had won a championship, then you couldn't take the trash. Only problem the Suns haven't won one.

Best description for KD is that he's a mercenary.

People truly underestimate what MJ would do to these guys mentally. Can you imagine the gamesmanship, cigars, etc.?

I think KD has done his part. I know everyone wants to shit on him, but he's carried the part he needed to carry. Truthfully, I know people think is crazy. But he should go back to golden state. I think that's his best option. He would still fit great within the team and they aren't "Unbeatable" like before. But it would give them the best chance of winning again and not having to give up much for it.

That Clip of Steve Kerr telling KD Isolation Ball can't win you chips and then seconds later in the clip, he holds the ball for almost the whole shot clock while Steve Kerr is yelling at him to move the ball screams louder and louder the longer he plays!

In the 2010's, specifically 2013-2020, offense did win championships, but you still needed to be a top 10 defense. Problem is, during that time, the average player's offensive skills took a huge leap to follow that trend. Big men can now shoot 3's, there is more ball movement now. Everyone has good offense, which in turn, now requires better defense to put your team ahead.

having the same expectations as a healthy player for someone who went from playing in 86% to 64% of his games played is wild.. he only played in 33% of his games before this season, yet is treated like he’s been fully healthy

KD doesn't want the responsibilities of a leader he just wants the praise and respect.

People need to understand the difference between BEST and GREATEST. Greatness comes from the accolades and legacy you leave behind.
KD is one of the BEST scorers in this NBA's history, but he doesn't deserve to be listed next to the GREATEST scorers to play the game.
