This riggety thing is by far my favorite at Elitch Gardens! The fact it feels like it's going to fall apart at any moment and the tunnel of screams makes it the best.
+Pigeon-chan That rickety feeling is what makes wooden roller coasters the best thing ever!
@@davidjellis Go to Lakeside. It is *so* shaky.
@@alansvoodoo Went there a few years ago...looked lovely lit up at night but wasn't blown away by the Lakeside Cyclone.
@@davidjellis Well, I was! (Had Fun) Especially the fact that that thing could break down at any moment! I don't blame you. It didn't really y'know move me either.
@@alansvoodoo It did look lovely, but with so many enthusiasts raving about it, I was expecting more. It's still a lovely piece of coaster history to experience.
I closed my eyes the whole time I was on this ride so I’m watching this to see what it all looked liked 😂
Amelia H I love this ride
That’s what I did
Bruh I had my eyes open and I was screaming hella
May not be the tallest, fastest, or most intense coaster around, but this was my first “big” roller coaster so I will always remember it!
Omg Same i remember how much I screamed the first time now I’m so used to it that I like to record on this 😂
Same it was my favorite roller coaster
This ride will always be the ride where u think it’s gonna break and also seems insanely unsafe for how much it shakes yet it’s still good
Clorox Bleach, I have rode this before its scary I hated it so much, and I am a fan of rolling coasters
U think that’s bad u should go to Albuquerque and ride the rattler that’s will break ribs yo it shakes u hard
I've been on it before and it's AWESOME
Snow Leopard 626 same but it's so shaky
Me to
Wow David, the view from 1:00 on the lift hill is incredible. Really clear and filmed professionally.
Thanks for describing to me what the coaster look like from the highways around it~
Rob/Boston
Glad you enjoyed the video :-)
I went on twister 2 and I was screaming the entire time XD
Its lowkey not scary its sooooo fun and all that time in line is sooooo worth it
It is a good idea to have the rails on the sides of the tracks so that people can't fall out or jump out of the coaster. LOL
LOL - the rails do come in handy if you have to evacuate of course!
This is the first roller coaster I ever rode, and it is the first in eliches
I always feel like it's going to be my last ride.
Wow, it really is just right outside of Denver.
The camera was making a weird distortion effect on the track, or maybe it was being... twisted!? *further ideas of Eldritch Gardens*
+Hypernukeleosis Kirby It's pretty much in the heart of the city!
Reversed Out-n-Back? Sign me up!
If they could find a way to RMC this thing that would help this park tremendously. That layout is just begging for the RMC treatment
I might go on Friday!
I live in California but I grew up in Colorado. This made me super homesick
Hope you still enjoyed it :-)
Of course, I sent it to family members to make them Homesick
Well, Elitches is closing at the end of the summer so you won't have to be homesick for long.
nice video David, the coaster looks a bit of a shaker ??
It wasn't as shaky as I expected it to be...front seat was pretty good, a little shakier at the back of the train. John Pagel at the park mounted the camera on the front of the train - he is a great guy and was very helpful in getting me the on-ride POVs.
That's nice when they take an interest and help you promote their rides. Not to sure if the mounted camera sometimes takes away the reality of the rides but it seems to work well here ! :-)
I know what you mean - you see a lot of footage where the camera is mounted low on the front of the train - I am not a fan of that as it doesn't feel like you are riding it...I prefer videos that show POV - i.e. as you would see it yourself. John Pagel was a star...not only sorted out free tickets and fast passes but spent 90 minutes of his day with us, and helped me get POV on a few of the rides.
I'm glad he looked after you well David, I'll look forward to the other footage :-)
The downside is that we didn't get to film on much...we did a couple of POVs on Twister, the reverse POV on their Larson loop Brain Drain, and the Reverse Bungy sling shot ride, which I rode with John...that later one is still to be uploaded. The free tickets and rapid rider passes would have cost around $200 between us, so we were very happy with how he helped us! There is a couple of off-rides still to upload too.!
i love this ride
That hard brake at the end tho ugh. Every time
The lakeside wooden coaster is way better, but the wooden coasters are great.
I must admit I wasn't blown away by the Lakeside Cyclone but it did look lovely illuminated at night
This ride always feels like it’s gonna fall apart but i still like it lol
I went on it it yesterday and it was fun
No my opinion, this is the best ride there, who agrees
me
Ditto
I went on the Mind Eraser last year and it was my first time and I didn't decide to ride this one because I was scarred from the Mind Eraser
Second best if you have been on xlr8r then that’s the best but this one is the best roller coaster
Can someone plz tell me how the seats are built? Because I want to get on this but I'm kinda scared because of seat safety reasons
Can you elaborate...what sort of seat safety concerns do you have? The seat design is pretty standard and loads of wooden coasters use the same type of trains. You get some views of the trains on my other video th-cam.com/video/OiR54NouiAU/w-d-xo.html
davidjellis Ok, Thanks😀
I know I’m supper late but safety strap wise it’s a lap bar and a seat belt but super safe
This was closed when I was at the park:(
That's a shame
excellent, thanks.
Man this coaster has so much rmc potential!
I have mixed views on this...never experienced one yet, but it is a shame to lose wooden coasters unless they are in a desperate state of disrepair...this one will give plenty more years of service as a woodie in my view.
I'm thinking the same thing. This coaster could definitely use a makeover. While it is fully functional, it's seen better days. The ride is rough and almost completely forceless. Not to mention, it's also trim braked to death, making the already forceless hills drag out unnecessarily long. The structure is an eyesore, with the paint flat-out flaking off of the supports at parts. The whole thing looks and feels like it's going to fall apart at any second.
Meanwhile, just 3 miles northwest, Lakside's Cyclone, whose age surpasses this coaster's by a whopping 55 years, still packs a punch with loads of airtime that Twister II could only dream of having.
RMCing this coaster would also be Elitch Gardens' only opportunity to add a new full size roller coaster, seeing as the park is running out of room.
+Dolphanatic I don't know who the new owners of Elitch Gardens are, but I have a feeling that next year they will probably do some major rehab on the Twister. It will be interesting to see what they do for 2017 since they recently just bought the park. I think that they would maybe fit a small hyper coaster similar to Goliath at La Ronde along the edge of the park. Maybe put the station where the old Flying Coaster used to be.
Elias Mertens I hadn't realised Elitch Gardens had been sold.
***** Yeah. Here's a link to a Newsplusnotes article about it. newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/2015/06/elitch-gardens-sold-by-cnl-properties.html
I love it
Who’s ready for Twister III?
Going to ride it tomorrow if it’s open but it doesn’t say it is
my favorte ride is the mimd earaser
How do you get permission to film on the rides?
I asked the park in advance and they set the camera up for me on my visit
davidjellis Do they have the gear to set it up and you just bring the camera? I am trying to get footage without sneaking it on the rides and since this is my home park, I would love to know how to get access to filming the rides.
I emailed the park in advance - their operations manager agreed to sort something for me as I was traveling there from the UK - they provided all the mounts, we just used my camera. It's always best to seek permission and not sneak cameras on a coaster, but not sure how often they approve use. - Perhaps just contact the park and see what they say. @@charliefandre
davidjellis thanks so much!
@@davidjellis I noticed that there weren't people screaming relentlessly for the duration of the ride and especially in the tunnel. Did elitches put you on the ride by yourself?
I went there at halloween and um i was screaming like crazy with meh big bro and it was pretty scary for me lol
Is it weird that I just learned about this park
xXXuKe22Xx if you live in colorado then yes,
Do i smell an intamin half pipe?
Yes...and a rough one at that!
Oh, yeah, the Half Pipe is rough...
OK people that never been on the twister here is a note to u I know it doesn't look scary but when you go down the hills you can't breathe and it tigtends your guts and it hurts because the ride is so bumpy
True!! its like your dying
thats the one thing about wooden roller coasters which in my case i love it!
It was fun in the front seat...a bit bumpier towards the back of the train
Not really its not scary
The worst part is that little fake drop right before the real first drop
Oot spagoot RIGHT!!! I went on it today and completely forgot about that fake drop
For you’re future Elitches visit if you are going to ride this, not kidding close you’re ears you go through the tunnel
I had no problem with my ears
davidjellis oh people must not have been screaming then... I think
Ikr! One scream sounds like a million
It’s cool but shaky
I wish I was brave enough to go on that
I was 9 when I went on it
You can do it! Its not really that scary. but its bumpy as hell
keighly whapham it's not bad, the worst parts are a 90 ft drop and the pitch black tunnel and the fact that it's made entirely of wood and steel
I'm terrified of rollercoasters, especially the big ones. But for some reason Im not scared of this one at all, its so fun! You should go this summer. It opens in a couple days :)
Keighly W I did it. it was super fun
This thing looks like what would happen if Schwartzkopf made a woodie
LOL
That ride hurts your neck and back
I had no problems with it
At the end there's a very sudden stop where the bar rams into your stomach and makes you want to throw up. Good times.
Needs a RMC treatment 😂
I thought it was ok...pretty decent in the front seat, rougher further back.
davidjellis Yeah, but imagine it being a RMC, only problem is that there isn’t a lot of room for a RMC treatment. I want to know ur thoughts on this park because it’s my home park and it’s not the best lol😂
@@theflyinpenguin1289 To be totally honest, although the rides are a bit of a mix, my wife and I were treated to a personal tour by the rides manager, plus free entry, the park set up my GoPro to get POV, etc, so although I understand the general negative feedback about the park, we had a wonderful time there and were very grateful for the generosity of the management to our visit from the UK.
davidjellis Thanks for responding, this park isn’t Six Flags or Cedar Fair park quality, but it’s a good fit for Colorado. But elitches is out of room, but a new redevelopment plan is soon to come, and elitches will be moved. It’s going to be moved in a more open location so hopefully we can get more and better rides, still love all the rides there (Spider and Half Pipe my favs) and yeah, I just hope elitches can do better! :) Especially as a coaster enuistist.
TheFlyinPenguin 12 Twister III!
The original was WAY better!
Never got the chance to ride it
The end tho it like almost makes you throw up your food like sis
oh my gosh that ride was so bumpy it sucked so much
I was fine in the front seats when I rode it, but bumpy at the back
it jerked my head around, made me have a headache, and i sat in the 3rd seat back
Some rides can give you a headache - I get that occasionally - and sometimes the bigger the coaster is the rougher it rides...I often prefer the smaller coasters as they offer a smoother ride.
better than the Cyclone
i disagree personally, but love both
