The BetaFPV F405 AIO FC in my 533 Tiny Trainer just died on me. Let's try something else. I'm switching to the Flywoo Goku F745 AIO FC and BLHeli32 ESC. This FC has a F7 processor and 40 amp blhleli32 ESC. Hopefully it'll be more durable than the BetaFPV ones have been. Fingers crossed.

I use the GNF4 (32 bit 40a, f411, blackbox) and its been BULLET PROOF. I have one in my Cinesplore and one in my tp3 and I bash it good. GREAT board.

I really like the GNF4 so far. I've been rocking it for 4 months now in a demanding build. the build is a tbs stardust 5'' with 2203.5 2500 kv motors on on a 5s 1050 .ive even tortured it with a 6s battery but it desyncs. it didn't went up in flames tho .the only thing is it needs a big cap cuz its a lil noisy and all of the onboard leds died

jb u should put the cap right on the power leads of the board.the cap doesn't do anything on the xt30. even if your on 3s and its a 40a .i put a big freakin cap on everything.better safe than sorry : )

Maybe try hitting the OSD chip with a hot air station to reflow the pads its on. I have had similar issues with BetaFPV boards where they just kind of stop working properly and hit them with hot air and they come back alive. I have a suspicion that whoever makes their boards doesn't flow the solder properly all the time. I'd be really curious to see if that brings the OSD back to life. Sell me your dead BetaFPV boards.

  • @FilipRadelic

I’ve gone through a total of probably 40 different AIOs over past 3 years and the only three that still live are an ancient BetaFPV 1-2S 5A whoop AIO (currently in my 37g digiwhoop), a HGLRC Zeus 20x20 AIO (currently in my 57g digipick), and a NLRC 12A whoop board that has been in my “95X” since day one, neither being made anymore. Well to be fair Fettec mini aio is also still alive, but that’s because I have yet to fly it since I get annoyed by its bad design every time I look at it 😅
It’s almost as if trying to squeeze more electronics onto a single pcb somehow makes it less reliable 🧐🤔🤭😅

My first FPV drone (not counting DJI) blew up second day with BetaFPV Toothpick - an BNF. I replaced with another BetaFPV 405 Toothpick - it burned up in my hand when testing motor direction on starting the 3rd Motor. Pretty amazing fire - had a 2 in flame shoot out for about a sec. Had to hold it my hand as the USB connection comes from the bottom. Replacing with an IFlight Succex-D.

I've got three!! 1/3 is working fine, I would not recommend.
Take caution: V1 and V1.2 has incompatible soldering layout/wiring/pinout!!!
One of my Goku GN745 worked fine.
My second never did beep/recognized the motors (Yes, I've changed them on BF).
My third one was working well, omg 4" long range is great, but after a week flying, after a short 30s LoS test flight, one of the leds in the FC started smoking. I have no idea why.
I'm scared of Flywoo, let's see their support.

  • @gus8378

08:54 I got one of these boards and crashed it on my second flight. I hit the top of a bunch of incredibly high trees, on a very steep slope, and it came tumbling down until it got stuck on a branch. The barometer is what allowed me to quickly spot where it was, by giving me the approximate height it was stuck at. It was pretty tangled in the leaves, I might have not found the quad without it.
It's also nice to know when I'm flying above the regulated height, or generally to just know the altitude. A barometer is a feature I look for when looking for FCs now.
I just wish Betaflight supported altitude hold.
Onboard LEDs are also good to locate crashed micros using an aux switch, without adding the weight of external LEDs.

*Edited to remove my previous remark of the voltage instability from the onboard 9V regulator. Found a couple loose screws on my frame and the issue disappeared once they were tightened. Apparently a mechanical vibration was causing noise in the motors and the rest of the electrical system.

9:00 Regarding there being a INAV target for the Flywoo Goku GN745 FC's. There is, as of INAV 3.0, or later. (note: to do position_hold and other navigation, you will need a GPS with a compass, not just the baro sensor).
BTW: if INAV not enough, there is also an Adrucopter / Ardupilot target for the Goku GN745.
Can verify INAV works, but have not tried Adru firmware. Just that it's an interesting possibility, given this a AIO FC.

I really enjoyed building with the betaFPV AIO but also had reliability issues. I’ve been using the Goku 16x16 stacks (in my hexplorer, and a 3” build) and I’ve been very very pleased fun little fc to work on but not for beginners since the pads are teeny.

  • @BenLMitchell
    @BenLMitchell 3 ปีที่แล้ว

So far i've only managed to kill 1 FC and that was a FETtec KISS board. I was mortified. Couldn't have broken it at a worse time!
I've still got my 3 original Mamba F405's - these are going strong and have not shown any sign of breaking and I sucked right at the start. I then upgraded with 2 Mamba F722's, I really like this board, alot of features, bit tall because of the heat sink on the ESCS's but worth it.
I then bought a Lumenier Lux F7 for an Octo build and that that's still going after a big, big crash - that bent the frame.
I do need to try more manufacturers but now I've had KISS/ FETtec, it's not comparable, for me at least.

Beware of the iFlight Beast F7 v2 which is what most stores are carrying. Even though, in some ads, they are advertising an MPU6000 gyro it does in fact come with a BMI270 (Bosch) which has a much higher cutoff freq for the hardware LPF (875hz) than the 6000. It is also locked at 3.2khz gyro and max 3.2khz PID loop which is probably fine but the LPF is not good news for a quad.

These boards have major issues that the onboard LEDs fall off and then all your LEDs stop working. Seen it happen to a handful of them.

I've had all kind of esc issues on various AIO makes lately. I'm not crashing as much as I used to and my soldering has improved quite a bit, so I can't figure out why. Wonder if it has anything to do with the chip shortage? Saw someone's video about using dental floss for those gummies and it has saved me tons of frustration through all the replacements I have done lately.

companies might be lowering quality for increased quantity. Also, got to watch out for "seconds". Stuff that was discarding in production runs might be bought now that their is a need. Our company needed to buy some "out of production" DAC parts out in the wild years ago (non-pandemic related) and found a much higher failure rate - and those boards are coming back to be repaired..... what to do, more crappy parts and hope for the best. No other choice. Our equipment gets 10 year warranties.

Today this AIO had a defective LDO Voltage regulator - I guess the 3,3 Volt since the gyro and baro is not showing anymore. I have had it now with flywoo FCs. I only made very bad experience, also with the 16mm F4 stack and another F4 FC from them. Service is terrible and the quality too (in my opinion, maybe I was unlucky, who knows).

Need some help people more than just with drones LOL. Anyways I kept burning up flight controllers in my GEPRC Phantom HD, so someone recommended I replaced it with this flywoo flight controller. I tested everything without props last night in the house and everything worked perfect. All my OSD was correct I went for a test flight this morning and everything was awesome. Handle so much better with the same pid rates. I had probably one of my smoothest Landings LOL. I put a second battery in and now I'm not getting any battery voltage showing up in the OSD for the Drone. Am I doing something wrong. How could it work with one battery then 2 minutes later it doesn't work with another battery. Then I tried a different battery just for the heck of it same thing no battery voltage but the quad arms perfect and flies perfect just have no idea when to LAND. HELP please I'm DROWNING!!

gotta warn yall you need a magnifier and light and helping hands to solder this thing and super steady hands because omfg the pads are so tiny i wanna thump the desiner of the board its really hard to solder that andits mounting is weird so in bf you have too yaw 45degresss

I’m always confused when a whoop or any small aio claims it can do 25/35 amp @6s. Is there a particular fet manufacturers need to disclose so we know if it could handle a 2207 1900kv 5138 prop???

I just brought a new hobbywing g3 f4 60A stack because i know it works! Is f4 the latest and gratest? No! Do i really need a f7? Probably no! I just know it works, i prefer that everyday over the latest and gratest!

I'd love to know how you end up liking this FC (durability). I have two quads with the BetaFPV FC. No problems so far but you never know. The 20a limit on the BetaFPV doesn't give me much confidence. Also it has no BB mem.

Mpu6000 is like f3 fc. F3 fc was an amazing product that just worked even if you had bent and chewed up props, Had a janky buil, it didnt matter it Just flew. Sure it had limitations and couldn't implement all these new f7 capabilities within bf but hey, it wasn't super sensative.
