Dude!! Your possibly the only one on TH-cam that has a video pin pointing exactly the same problem I am having or had. Your video helped me fix my Yukon. I am so happy to finally have both these issues fixed. Great video bud!!
Awesome video. Much appreciated. Fixed my problem. I scraped everything with a screwdriver so it wouldn't be so sticky. I also cleaned my o-rings with petroleum jelly.
Thanks for this video! Gave up using my rear window 2 years ago because I couldn't keep that switch working. after watching this video, took it apart, used some JB Weld and presto, works like new!
I am having the same problem you described. I checked and a new lock is $200.00. Thanks to you, I will tackle this myself and just have to buy a package of epoxy. Thanks for this great video!
Great video on how to repair the Lock. Only thing was you skipped a lot of information on how to remove the lock from the bracket. Almost broke the lock housing trying to remove it from the bracket. found rotation lock pin and depressed it and it came out. Some of us may need all the details but thanks anyway
Hi; I’m an old lady in Tacoma WA with an ‘01 Tahoe 264k miles. I’m scared to take the lock assembly apart and prolly not be able to put it back together. The problem started in 2019 when i was traveling. It was snowing where I went; the lock possibly froze. I unknowingly went to pop the glass open like always to get a small duffle bag. I used that glass window opening feature fairly often. If I took it to a mechanic - oof, I’m afraid...but I REALLY MISS MY glass door opening. My truck is mechanically sound, but goofy things like this happen. I appreciate your video because it educated me. Perhaps I can show it to a mechanic. Thanks very much.
How do you remove the whole cylinder from the assembly? In the beginning of video it was already taken off from assembly. Having trouble trying to get it lose from brass looking plate???
bam6972 just finished 5 minutes ago. Used super weld as I had it sitting around. Will test out tomorrow but looks like it will work. Biggest pain really was getting the interior covers back on. In general how is your Tahoe holding up? How many miles?
bam6972 Nice! Yukon is holding pretty solid. Just put some newer 18 inch GMC wheels on it in place of the 16 inch that came on it. Made a world of difference. Found a great deal on Craigslist otherwise I would have just left them. Hit me up on email and I can send you a pic or two mandellmd at gmail.com

Great job man thanks and Is it still holding together
yup
Where did you get that assembly chart? Do you if there is one for the entire locking mechanism?
Super glue hold up? Also, one last question: Do I have to take off the entire actuator or can I just pull out the cylinder? Thanks!
yea super glue still holding still to this day. and yes you have to pull it all down to get it out

What was the part that you ordered? And where did you order it from? I have same issue on 2003 gmc yukon. Live in Indianapolis.
i didnt buy anything. i super glued it back together. its the lock cylinder for the rear glass.
Could ya weld it back to the lock?
well i think its made out of like pot metal. its not like steel. maby brazing it back together would work.
Indiana don't see to many ppl from here
Anybody know the part # for the cylinder 2000 chevy 1500 .
