I studied electrical engineering and actually put some of the skills I learnt (soldering, simple circuit design) to use and built my own lightsaber prop. Was really cool to use my study to fuel a project that is close to my heart. To verify what is said in the video. you don’t need an engineering degree to build a lightsaber prop. Just a little patience and interest in something can really push you to do awesome things like this.
A few months ago I created my own custom saber based off the proffie board v2.2. Its a very great board and it was very easy. Combined with a 3d printer to make a detailed hilt in the saber was a fun experience
YESSSSS! Very excited to watch this series and your personal journey into saber building! Im getting close to finishing my 3rd saber install (im still a novice) but from looking at the parts you bought it looks like you're on the right track! Cant wait to see the finished product!
This is insane! I just got my spectre 6 from a reseller and I'm researching a way to put it together. It's gonna be a challenging build because not only is space limited, I'm looking to do a crystal chamber behind the door panel. I'm glad I found this to see how you put yours together
Hey man I just want you to know that I look forward to your uploads all the time and that they’re are the light of my day. Star Wars is something that helps me escape too so from the bottom of my heart thank you for what you do❤️😁
Yes! This is something that has sorely been missing... well spoken, engaging, to the point, and all in one spot... thanks bro! Appreciating you right now! Keep up the good work!
Here's what I wanna do. I want to build my own basic stunt saber BUT I want to do my own hilt design. One day I would LOVE to remake it with Galaxy Edge's theme with the RFID reader/writer idea and make a custom saber that can change colors based on what crystal I put in it.
Definitely tons of research is needed. Hours and hours of endless videos. Forums and more forums. You have to have a passion to learn this skill. And it doesn't hurt to be a machinist 😂
I’ve actually done a couple of installs myself and this video series probably would’ve been super helpful when I was fist starting out on that journey, so I hope that this helps a lot of people who are interested for hopping in.
I'm trying to start making my own sabers.........holy but off more than I can chew. Let's start with polycarbonate tubing tips. Where the heck can I get those without paying an arm and a leg?!?! Anyone.....suggestions on this process would help, because I'm the biggest noob with this EVER! lol
I was hoping you would do a video on this! I too had that feeling of wanting to just create my own custom lightsaber and feel like as if it was truly my own! I also kinda wanted to create my Star Wars original characters' Lightsabers that I designed, so this series will be SO helpful and I don't think you know how much I mean that-
hey ultrasabers is great for quality and pretty good cost. some people have big problems with shipping but I was fine. they have a huge range of cheaper and also movie replica lightsabers. I recommend them for anyone getting their first saber
I've got a Saberforge stunt saber and its really good, nice and sturdy and super bright. The down side however, is their lead time. Mine took about 3 months to arrive. As for Ultrasabers I have yet to pick one up. Hope this helps!
Definitely not Ultrasabers. Their replicas aren't accurate, the electronics are crap quality and absolutely outdated, etc. Try reading the buyer's guide on r/lightsabers for more options.
2:47 or I could just turn the lightsaber on in one hand and play the imperial match on my phone behind my back, there is no alternate reality were my parents let me build my own saber lol
Yo been a while since i’ve seen your channel and ive always wanted to build a lightsaber now this how to build a lightsaber series seems like its gonna be amazing
Dude I have seen a lot of scam mandelorian helmet ads with your TH-cam content in (on Facebook) I do keep reporting them and their is other people's content, thought you might want a heads up on it. Awesome vid BTW can't wait for the rest
Just got a new Graflex SE from Ultrasabers today and this hilt is fantastic. Definitely like the helpful information though. I might buy Saberforge or Vader’s Vault in the future.
This is so real! I have def been through everything you described and I laughed so hard when the first site you showed was the custom saber shop! Bro, I did the same google search, saw the same out dated looking sites and had to comb through forum after forum for answers 🤣😂🤣😂
So I’ve built sabers without leds for swinging around. Sabers with 9v battery and tri cree leds to light up. Now I’m building my first soundboard. My soundboard can only use up to 6 volts, but the single cree led isn’t bright. The Tri Cree is 9v, but obviously thats more than the board can handle. I don’t want a seperate switch for the light. Any ideas
I am currently in school for mechanical engineering but I still have no clue where to start building my own lightsaber. Trying to build the hilt from scratch and I am failing miserably.
Any recommendations on where to buy a replica empty hilt? I watched this series and am still having trouble. Recently wanted to buy a Sabine rep but after watching these videos I'm very inspired to try myself
Sorry for this newbie question and didn't know where else to ask, but as my first saber I went with an ultrasaber (yes i know i apologize but didn't know! lol) that apparently came with their Ultraproffie Zero board. Anyway question is am i able to install a different board in the hilt (which i love...the Emperor's Hand)?
Any leads on a 18650 battery that already has wires? I want a veteran sound board 2.5 from saberforge, a speaker, 12w blue Led, and I just don’t know what chassis to get or if a chassis already has connects for battery or if I need to get a battery that is wired. Please help.
Honestly I prefer to make my own sabers but that has taken alot of sleep and time so I decided to make a 3d printer program but I have no idea how to so I'm currently asking my friends to make it somehow I'll update later
i am super inexperienced but my dad does electrical repairs, car servicing, etc. im an artist and i do modelling. i want to ask him if we can build one together, because holy crap, they look SICK.
I'm sure you've got other stuff going on in life, but I'd love to see more videos from you! I wanna know your thoughts on the new Mando episodes and other stuff! Keep up the great work.
I just designed mine and I cant even figure out the LED and what parts I need for it. I don't even want it to make sounds I just want it to light up. Lol I'm a beginner at this. My friend makes it look easy.
Yes but if one can accomplish the challenging task of crafting thier own functioning lightsaber. One that is up to snuff to Saber Smith's and Fans alike. One can feel a special kind of pride and sense of achievement. That most people never get to experience. It really is quite a feeling. The closest one can get to feeling like an actual Force user.
could anyone recomend a sabersmith that would craft a saber from the old republic era? cause there are a lot of hilt designs that I love but no one creates them
Who's EXCITED to learn how to build a lightsaber?!

I don’t know why, but I have always loved the stapler saber. It is one of my favorites.

For Swirl to install his staple-gun*

The beginning of this video is just you flexing your epic monitor and computer 😂
Did not know you had a new channel. I was wondering why I did not new videos of you popping up. Congrats on the new channel. Amazing content.
1:07 "And MATH???" I don't know why, but that made me laugh so hard. Looking forward to this video series!

This is an amazing idea. I completely agree that all the current resources are outdated. Super excited for this series!
I turned on notifications for this can’t wait for the final product!
Just ordered the solos hold ahsoka empty hilt, this video helped tons. Thanks so much

This is such an underrated starwars channel. good job
Dude, ty! I was looking at ultra sabers, but this will be so much better!!!
I'm trying to start making my own sabers.........holy but off more than I can chew. Let's start with polycarbonate tubing tips. Where the heck can I get those without paying an arm and a leg?!?! Anyone.....suggestions on this process would help, because I'm the biggest noob with this EVER! lol
I see you will be constructing a new lightsaber....your skills will be complete
I’m so happy that your back to making videos
Amazing! I was planning on dropping $1000 on a custom instal for a kylo ren saber, but now I'm second guessing. I can't wait for this video series!
I was hoping you would do a video on this!

If I want to buy a lightsaber what company should I trust. I was considering saberforge however after seeing your video Im not sure.
That's a really good question! I want to know too!

@@general_dude8025 i know the replicas are bad but for stunt sabers they're great, though the inner stuff rattles a bit.
Super hyped on this series, just got my first neopixel lightsaber
Finally! I found someone who is making Ezra’s Lightsaber! My life is complete lol
Is there any chance you will upload more? I have been watching you for around a year now and I have watched all the vids. Great Vids tho!!
are you gonna do ezras specific lightsaber sounds bc the staple gun has very specific noises
Of course!!
I swear hes done at least 20 lightsaber videos and i love it
The tutorial I’ve long searched for!
2:47 or I could just turn the lightsaber on in one hand and play the imperial match on my phone behind my back, there is no alternate reality were my parents let me build my own saber lol
Major respect for building Ezra's saber
Yo been a while since i’ve seen your channel and ive always wanted to build a lightsaber now this how to build a lightsaber series seems like its gonna be amazing
I wish there was an inquisitor lightsaber.

I can’t wait for the rest of this series! 🤘
Omg, I was just looking to get into this thing exactly. Law of Magnetism delivered your upload to me.
This is so real! I have def been through everything you described and I laughed so hard when the first site you showed was the custom saber shop! Bro, I did the same google search, saw the same out dated looking sites and had to comb through forum after forum for answers 🤣😂🤣😂

0:57 Hey, that’s a William Jakespeare tutorial! He’s awesome
Now we know where luke learned to built his green saber
It was qui gon jinns
how in the hell, can someone dislike some amazing video like this?
i haven’t disliked but i can imagine it’s because he didn’t actually answer the question and just shilled his merch
I like how the video is titled, "How to Build a Lightsaber" and you learn ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about how to build a lightsaber.
lol😂😂😂😂
Ayyyy he is back uploading
'and if you want to learn how to build your own light-say..'
intro plays
I can't wait to see it all
Sorry for this newbie question and didn't know where else to ask, but as my first saber I went with an ultrasaber (yes i know i apologize but didn't know! lol) that apparently came with their Ultraproffie Zero board. I saw part 2 in my subscription feed and I was like “how did I miss part 1” and then I saw there was ANOTHER video before that I missed. Oh no!
i am super inexperienced but my dad does electrical repairs, car servicing, etc. im an artist and i do modelling. i want to ask him if we can build one together, because holy crap, they look SICK.
Is there a way to install a USB port of some kind in order to avoid batteries?
I'm an engineer and I'm still intimidated 😭 I'm glad you made this series
When will you release the full video on building ur lightsaber ??
Dude that is so dope
I'm sure you've got other stuff going on in life, but I'd love to see more videos from you! I wanna know your thoughts on the new Mando episodes and other stuff! Keep up the great work.
It would be cool if you make the electronics in the blaster part and put the blade on it. Sounds dumb. But would be effective
sooooooo, you'll be the new best resource for how to build a lightsaber?
I just designed mine and I cant even figure out the LED and what parts I need for it. I don't even want it to make sounds I just want it to light up. Lol I'm a beginner at this. My friend makes it look easy.
Downside of being this early: I have to wait :(
Well, looks like it's back to the wrapping paper tubes for me
I wanna learn about converting a Galaxys edge lightsaber
The Custom Saber shop is a great website but I agree it could use a modern touch lmao.
Is he ever gonna do the double obi ani tutorial
do you recommend getting star wars Squadrens
Omg ty for this video!
Can you please make a video on how to make a lightsaber pike. 😬
Ah a weapon from a more civilized time
OMG he’s back😲😲😲
Is that the GHv3 or CFX?
CFX
What is the best cheap light saber I can buy?
Sir. You are a legend
Have you heard of the new starwars game for the oculus quest that just came out
Yes! I started playing it last night. Have you tried it yet?
Yea i was playing it 10 minutes ago and i have the biggest headache now
Thank you for sharing : )
General Kenobi, you are a bold one
loved the vid!!!!!!!!!
Me after waking up and seeing you posted: 😃
Where is Shameem when you need him... That guy was the real deal.
Dont diss Rob Petkau like that the man is a lightsaber legend 😂
I think you should do some mandalorian season 2 content
does anyone make a saberforge chassis with the battery already in place and wires available?
“I like your funny words, magic man!” I want one that looks like a LEGO lightsaber.
Side note, what’s the best way to hit you up about merch designs?
I made a hilt for funnies in shop class, and now I'm in the "well wtf do I do with this? its not a lightsaber its a metal tube" period
Would die to learn how to build my own
You sir, are speaking to my soul. You sound like me.
I wanted to have the list of materials in writing
You did it yesssss!!!
Anothet one
Early 👌 lightsabers are expensive! But this looks amazing
could anyone recomend a sabersmith that would craft a saber from the old republic era?
cause there are a lot of hilt designs that I love but no one creates them
Does anyone know where he got that hilt?
