Yep my first lightsaber hilt was a MacGyver I got a pipe kit from Lowe’s , a few scrap parts from my dads workshop, and a cheap $5 lightsaber from Walmart. It’s not the best looking but for my first lightsaber it’s okay.
Yo bro, I think it's great you're doing this particular video series. I've beem a saber hobbyist for a few years now. Building a saber is daunting to say the least. And whereas there IS material on the interwebs there is no streamlined place you can get all information at once. You're doing an awesome thing. Keep it up bro!
It’s taken me two years to build a lightsaber. Two things must be done to build one. First: your connection to the force must be strong and secure. Second: construct a lightsaber using your own knowledge and parts available to you. I want the best of cosplaying and dueling which required me to come up with several durability solutions and a battery system satisfactory for neopixel. I need it to be durable and upgradable, and I’ve come up with a one of a kind solution to both. Only a few short months until I can wield it. It’s based off the “fallen flyte” hilt from pach sabers.
I remember making my first lightsabers for dueling using plastic pipes and sprays. It was quite fun and even designed one that has the handle on the side of the hilt because a friend asked for one. I'm now making another one but I'm going to try and make it curved and I'm going to look at how I can design it be slightly curved and add the plastic blade on and make sure it doesn't loosen.
I bought an empty hilt from SaberForge and used neopixel with a Profieboard 2.2 and I’m so glad I did cause it’s absolutely amazing.Mainly use it for display and just something cool to have
Bro! Loved the video, not sure if you’ll see this comment but: What lightsaber hilt is that @ 2:34 ??? That’s the single coolest looking hilt I’ve ever seen and I’m dying to find it. Hope you see this!
Tbh if you have the skill and tools you can probably make a hilt that will fit all your stuff from scratch jusy by using some metal pipes or some other material you find laying around yout garage or workshop if you have one. Ofc thats even more effort but then customization is way higher
Bro building a lightsaber ain’t as bad as you’re making it out to be lol. There are literally TONS of groups and communities who are very experienced and ready to help beginners. Coming from a 19 year old who didn’t know anything about soldering and soundboards I got lots of help from Facebook groups and TH-cam and with $300 I made my own basic cosplay lightsaber. So if you really want to make a lightsaber you can definitely do it!!!
Just so other people know, the chassis is not as important as it may seem. It is mainly important that you just have some way to protect your components from making contact with the walls of a METAL lightsaber hilt. This would shortcircut it and make it not function as well.
its not just for that. say you drop it, you don't want the electronics to rattle around. same goes for swinging and even dueling. the chassis really is needed
have to disagree with you on that. The chassis is one of THE MOST important things in a build. You don't have to go crazy and do a Goth3d with crystal chamber but for wire management, access to the board, it is invaluable.
is it possible to do all 3 reasons?i want the great collection to rebel grievous collection,i want to learn to be the best duelist and also love the thought of cosplay
welp i have a issue then.... because the saber i want to build falls under the 2nd and 3rd teer. i want it to be dual worthy but also have bright and vibrant lights and loud accurate sounds with a detailed handle. the detail wont be anything to super fancy infact the design i have thought up is quite simplistic XD but yeah..... uhg lol
Who else watched this and is laughing as they didn’t do anything listed in the 2 and already built a lightsaber? Like I just used a dollar store flashlight that is super bright, got lucky and found parts from 2 old welding fusion torches, and had a crystal lying around for my saber. Even build my own blades (though coloured as I was on a budget thanks to 2020) and building a saber with 1 blade cost me no more than $24 CAD including specialty tools I had to buy, glues, epoxies, dowels, a lightsaber toy I tore for a button to press the flashlight inside, a flashlight, and a toy wand to rip apart the tip for cause why not. Blade was just a bubble wand and 2-3 squirt wands from the dollar store along with a camping whistle for the mirror. Had I not of gotten lucky the PVC or metal pipes I’d of needed woulda ranged from $10-$40 depending how detailed with emmiters being $5-$15 depending how detailed. In the end just use some junk you got lying about or can find them gather materials as you see fit. The welding torch body was super hard to drill into and actually broke a drillbit and was so durable my blade set screw I threaded was just me angerly grunting twisting it in pissed off for a few hours. In the end just takes time, patience, a strong will, and smarts as well as reaching out if help is needed. My parts are modular so I was able to swap out panels for other ones and had 3 caps and 2 bodies so I used it to make 2 emmiters and dug out one body and cap to tightly fit so I can screw it all together. It sits proudly on my wall mounted next to my bed as an emergency light source and a badass thing on my wall. Long story short use some brains when making a saber, reach out to people when needed (as a friend who heard about my ambitions handed me the $1000+ welding gun parts free), get creative, and have fun

I have a design for a spinning inquisitor lightsaber in the works, only got the spinning part sort of worked out I have no idea how to make it light up
Ooh, the lightsaber blaster is what I want to build-- but not identical to Ezra's. I want something more unique but similar. I just want a simple prop to hang off my belt. LOL. Don't need it to light up or make noise- yet. I'm considering building it so I can possibly add lights later. Tried to find how to add the blaster sound & kept getting videos about slinkies. LOL. I want to make mine out of PVC. I've got some scraps lying around & am hoping I can find some inexpensive fittings. LOL. Steroids. I just laughed and woke one of my cats up so now she's trying to climb on me but there are other cats in the way. So, I guess its in between cosplay & display. I want it to be for display but to be able to look neat on a costume and be portable. So, nothing too heavy. I'm going to start with a cardboard build to see how the general shape/look feels. I don't have the budget for the premade ones and I haven't seen exactly what I want. I want to build one for as little $ as possible. Hence I'm looking for stuff I already have or stuff that is really cheap to get. It's just fun to make stuff. Ok, the making part may not be fun, but the completion part is fun. Renovating my bathroom, tearing out rotten wood, putting in new studs, putting up cement board, mudding, cleaning, installing the surround & plumbing-- not fun. But end result was totally worth it. LOL.
i just want the blade and the internal components for a V2 Luke Skywalker Lightsaber from Solo's Hold, not in assembling a lightsaber with every separate component, aren't there like, ways to get a chassis with all the components needed for a specific hilt that you can buy and just insert in the inside of your hilt?
Hey I am a young teen and I want a lightsaber that is durable, makes sound, lights up and can be used in dueling. The problem is I have no idea how electronics work and I have a very small budget. I might just have to go with an official licensed one but their blades anr too short. I’m in quite the situation.
To be honest the best option would be ultra sabers, their not the best looking or sounding but they do amazing for the balance of good led sound and Durability the only issue in price is the soundboard which charges another 100 and that sucks but if you customize one to be around 250 and be amazing and well balanced while also being comfortable(the first few hilts don't have a sound option)
In one of your videos you said that you had experience with Soldering and I was wondering if you could tell me all the tools I would need and where to find them
Hello there! I teach 8th grade science and I was wondering if you think it's possible to turn a build your own saber into a STEM activity doable by 8th grades in an after school club?
question, so i have a neopixel soundboard, blade, and a 3d printed handle that the sound board can go into. their are 2 things do i need anything else or could i connect all the together and then does a sound board fit and neopixel blade? also the neopixel sound board is a kit as well not sure if that changes anything but its from premium saber pro
I have a multi-color remote controlled LED light bulb And one of those lightsaber blades that you swing out From a classic toy lightsaber And that's how far I got
is there anyone who covers LGT custom sabers? LGT store on aliexpress has prebuilt smooth swings soundboards that come in plastic chassis, that can be easily disassembled and replaced with metal hilts also offered by LGT. Would really love to see a full guide + a full parts list to make custom sabers alot more affordable and accessible. Judging from the prices on Aliexpress, they are really low.
Bro you can modify the tri cree to fit but you shouldnt buy lgt saber hilts if your going to build a saber for a better experience you want a replica hilt they have more room you just gotta be determined and know the right people that will tell you all the right stuff thats compatible
Who's seen that new BABY YODA MERCH I've got in my store??? 👀 👀 👀
I need to get dat

I wish I could buy it but I have 0 dollars
Looks dope
Oml that’s so cool I need that shirt!
Literally, the only thing that has kept me from building one is budget/price
Fair.

Me too
Yeah and It is to much work
Another person misusing the word “literally“. (Laughing)
Just buy a used one on a third-party seller website.
if you just wanna make only a hilt you can go to home depot for parts and make one for under $30
Yep my first lightsaber hilt was a MacGyver I got a pipe kit from Lowe’s , a few scrap parts from my dads workshop, and a cheap $5 lightsaber from Walmart. It’s not the best looking but for my first lightsaber it’s okay.

Screw soundboard, just use a small motor you turn on when you turn on the LEDs in the hilt. That will give you a much more realistic feel and sound.
I remember making my first lightsabers for dueling using plastic pipes and sprays. It was quite fun and even designed one that has the handle on the side of the hilt because a friend asked for one. Did you end up watching the Ashoka show 2 years later?
Everybody explains how to build your own lightsaber, but nobody talks about how to make your own gaderffii stick.
Literally, your channel is the best and helpful Star Wars channel ever
I've really wanted to make my own- and I'll probably have it in a display. Thanks, this is so much useful!
I know what I want my lightsaber to do I just don't know what exactly to buy or where to buy it
Super thankful for these build videos. I’m attempting to tackle my first build - 89 sabers Graflex.

I mean, I don't really want to make a lightsaber, but I want a cool wall accent light, so I basically need to make one anyway.

I’m thinking of doing a black series Luke anh conversion but the beyond a list of parts other people used findin how is pretty arcane.
Where do you get the Ezra hilt from?
Did you ever get the part for Star wars theorys vader film?
i have a feeling he did, it would make sense for other youtube’s to collaborate since most of them are so chill theyd probably chip in some money
