  • I dont know if it's actually a secret, but this combination air/hydraulic 8 ton ram upgrade for your engine hoist is a game changer. In this video, we will have a race between using the air raise feature, and the traditional jack handle raise. I'm also going to show you how this upgrade can help those mechanics who often work by themselves.
Best of all, this Harbor Freight part was only $27 more than a standard replacement ram. So it's cheap!

Considering the low cost to upgrade it’s hard to beat.

We are a throw away society. Most people would rather have cheap replaceable goods.
To be fair, mine lasted almost a decade and was stored outside for a lot of that. My bigger issue is, considering they are almost the same price, why isn’t the air capable unit just put on the hoists in the first place.

Most people tear the seats up thinking they need to crank them down and then it's too late. Once you vice grip the valve closed the seat's gone and you're on borrowed time. :(

My old one was leaking from the seal at the top. But yeah I could see cranking down on the valve as a problem.

Well, first of all that hoist is $369 right now with no coupon. $329 with one. So your math is off by about 40% (that’s a lot) And second, what’s your suggestion? That I spend another $329 to buy a new hoist that I would then have to put together?
Or I can do what I did, spend $107, and have a better product that’s more useful with only about 5 minutes of install time.
But hey Bruh, thanks for watching! I appreciate the view and comment!
