    I just discovered your videos yesterday while researching small trailers. You do a great job of being “real” about what works and what doesn’t. We are very limited with towing capacity with a Jeep Wrangler and are considering the T@b also or the Lance 1485. We will be newbies to trailer life, but not camping. Great to get your take on the “essentials” we’ll need as we begin our adventures! Thanks!

      Welcome to our channel and thanks for watching! I have not seen the Lance trailers other than on TH-cam but I have heard great things. We are really impressed with the quality of the T@B build and so far the customer service has been amazing.

      We have an ‘11 wrangler, getting our trailer in May. Pretty excited, same boat, new to trailers but seasoned campers. Just found the page and will stick around!

      I was looking at the two same travel trailers. I loved the Lance for a variety of reasons but ended up purchasing a new T@B 320S and I love it. I wanted something that was light weight and very easy to tow and this fit the bill. I decided to purchase the outside tent/ screen room and I have plenty of room for guests. The Gazelle pop up screen room also gave us a place to socialize and eat without having to worry about bug spray. Best of luck on your next purchase. Either way, you can’t go wrong. Two very well made units.

    Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    A surge protector will do absolutely nothing for lightning protection. Lighting voltage will go through like it's not even there. Surge protectors are designed to protect against dangerous spikes in utility power. Most of them only protect up to maybe 100k volts, lighting strikes are usually a few hundred million volts. It will jump right across the circuitry in that surge protector and keep on going right into your RV.

    Good evening Patrick and Patty!! I'm tapping back into the archives!
    ETA for our Outdoors RV travel trailer is to be completed at the manufacturer is about 2 weeks or so. I don't want to wait until we get to the dealer to get all of the basics. So, I'll start ordering here soon.
    This is a great coverage of the basic items to get out the door.
    Safe travels!

    I like the fact you didn't want to use your drill early in the morning or late at night. We had one recently come in after 11 pm and used their hammer drill to lower their stabilizers. Campground etiquette is gone and if you post about it on RV message boards they delete your posts. Amazing how they don't want to offend people with courtesy.

    I will agree with you that the rhino hose is the best, however, we went through three of them living full-time in an RV in the same place in 2 1/2 years. The sun just destroys them eventually. As for the water hose see if you can find an opaque one we were using untreated well water and we had a lot of green algae problems buildup on the inside of the white plastic hose. All the other gadgets are new except for the socket, thanks for letting me know about them.

Anymore though we prefer our camper....our bed, our bedding and towels, our dirt, etc. Hopefully you will really enjoy your camper. I use to use one of those clear elbows on our 5th wheel. I tried to use it on the Hummingbird but had issues due to how low the grey/black pipes were to the ground. I know you can find them at most RV dealers or Camping World however prices are probably better on Amazon. The other thing to consider is if you want a weight distribution hitch as well.

      Patrick, I just received my Reese Round Bar Weight Distribution with Sway Control in the mail. I have a question concerning the 2 5/16 ball that came with this particular unit. I know that I have to replace the 2 5/16 Ball with a 2 inch ball. Does Walmart carry a 2 inch Ball with a 1 1/4 inch shank?
      I didn't realize how large the ball and shank were until I opened up the box that it came in. Plus, what size wrench do I use to remove the nut on the 2 inch ball? Man, is that nut, HUGE!!!!!
      Thanks for your response and I hope you don't mind me asking for help. What I mentioned above is all new to me, thanks!

      Enzo T I got my 2” ball at Menards. Walmart might have them as well. I purchased a large socket set and a pipe wrench at Harbor Freight that I use on the hitch. Not sure what size socket it is. If you don’t want to buy tools, a local auto shop might be willing to change out the hitch ball for you. With their power tools, it would take them only a couple of minutes to do.

    Greetings. I hope you respond. I have all of these but one question for you. We have a t@b 400 bdl and in addition to the sewer hose I bought the collapsible bridge to support the hose. To be honest, I rarely use it as we normally only stay in a site for 2-3 days and we don't use our shower, but do use the toilet. In locations where I have connected the sewer, I found just laying the hose along the ground works sufficiently. Curious to hear your experience. Do you use a hose bridge or just go with along the ground option? I would also suggest you secure your surge protector to the power pole with a length of chain and a padlock.

    • @TravelswithDelaney
      @TravelswithDelaney  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      CHAOSNCHECK T We don’t use one of those bridges either. I only use the hose when I’m dumping the tanks so I don’t leave the hose out.

    • @TravelswithDelaney

      Yes you can! Since you are just running water into your blacktank, a garden style hose will work just fine for that application.

    Hi Patrick, I’ve had my Tab 400 2 years and have had issues with rodents getting in to eat those soy waterlines. We live in the woods of the PNW and wonder if you have had any problems and how you solved them. We live on 2-1/2 acres so the idea of paying to store off property seems silly.
    Any suggestions welcome. Hope you’re enjoying your new rig!

    • @TravelswithDelaney
      @TravelswithDelaney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Cynthia! We love our Lance but we sure do miss the NuCamp Community. We never had an issue with rodents but I have heard other 400 owners have had issues. The best thing to do is to crawl under the trailer and look for any openings around water and electric lines running into the floor of the trailer. Rodents can get in the tiniest of openings. Get some of the expanding foam and fill in those areas with it. Also, check the sides of the trailer frame. Our 2018 had a cutout on both sides that allowed animals to get it to the frame. I bought some metal gutter guard and cut it to a bit larger than the openings and then used some self tapping screws to attach it to the frame. Hope that might help some.

    Interesting list. Rather than blocks, why not use jacks at the corners? Are they not strong enough to both lift and stabilize? // Oh, a reminder for the carbon block water filters: They last 3 months, and after that can accumulate bacterial contamination, so be sure to remove them at the end of the season and throw them away. Ciao!

    • @TravelswithDelaney
      @TravelswithDelaney  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We change out our filter two times a camping season just because we camp so much. The stabilizers are just for stabilization and should not be used for leveling purposes. That can damage the stabilizers and possibly the trailer as well depending on where they are mounted.

    • @ljprep6250
      @ljprep6250 5 ปีที่แล้ว
