Me too. I listen to the entire book once every year since it was written.. I've given more copies of this book as presents than any other gift (followed by life after life by Dr Raymond Moody). This book is one that has to be listened to many times and each time you will find something new, in my dozen times not once did I not come away with another new epiphany that has enriched my life :)
This book makes me think very strongly that the world and human life is already written and designed to end some day. It's like the animal kingdom, perfect!
When I first time I had this it made me feel like I can get it together for the day I read this time and time but I'll read over and over it helps so I'm thankful. On God I love mm
The Four Agreements book has changed my life! Till this day I still enjoy reading this book to continue reminding myself of these four amazing life skills that make your life so much happier!! Thank you!
wow this has been out for over twenty years and I 've only just found my truth just by listening as a native women this is so awesome that I need to tell my sister who is going to start listening right away thank you DonMiguel Ruiz for reminding us about something my elders had always said
My favorite book of wisdom of all time, it changed my life. I listen to the entire book once or more every year since I found it.. I listen to it while cleaning, laundry... driving.. I've given more copies of this book as presents than any other gift (followed by life after life by Dr Raymond Moody). This book is one that has to be listened to many times and each time you will find something new, in my dozen times not once did I not come away with another new epiphany that has enriched my life :)
Wow, what a beautiful agreement this is, be impecable with your word. Everything I just heard is true, I just realized how important my word is. Thank you Don Miguel for these wonderful words of wisdom. 🙏🏽 God bless everyone ❤️❤️❤️.
I love Don Miguel Ruiz' teachings. I studied Tibetan Buddhism for decades and feel The books by Ruiz are essentially the same, and maybe clearer. Have begun to use them in volunteer groups for #BernieSanders2016. #seethebern TH-cam seethebern
The nice thing about Ruiz's work and the Toltec lineage is that they don't focus solely on meditation. Actually, neither does buddhism, but it is what people tend to focus on when they learn it, and I feel it's focused on even in the teachings. But besides the everyday life also being a meditation, there are clear parallels between the noble eightfold path and these 'agreements'; 'Right view' says look at things as they are without labels. That's basically 'don't make assumptions' and 'don't take anything personally'. Then 'Right speech' is pretty much 'be impeccable with your word', and I'm sure more parallels could be drawn.
I can totally relate. As a child, I overheard a neighbor comment on what an "unattractive child" I was. Another commented that I was "fat" which my mother overheard but did nothing about. I've grown up with those words in the back of my mind. The power of the WORD is strong! What a horrid thing to do to a child's self esteem!
In the 13th chapter of Matthew Jesus told a parable of a sower & his seeds. Some went on good ground, others not. I've heard it said that the good ground represents a good, receptive mind.
Not quite! Jesus is The Word. The good ground represents people who receive Jesus' word and understand it. They produce fruit, 30, 60 and 100 fold. It's important to realise that Jesus comes into our lives to produce the effect; it's not our word. Ruiz is a humanist (I guess) so emphasises the internal/intrinsic word of individuals. This is in strong contrast to the external Word of John's Gospel (that Ruiz mentions).
In Christ is the ultimate act of Grace. Im ok with these values. God will help you keep these agreements. When you fall short, make an agreement again to do well.
The first time I read this it made me feel some kinda way but it was the feeling it was gonna be all right so I keep reading so I could get too understand that I can get my shit together on God I just know that that was gonna make more of a deeper understanding and I wanted more of what I'm reading on God it's been fun for me to go outside of me since I got better ass a person's and I had to go out into this world not knowing what you was gonna no matter what on God.happened
I really appreciate you posting this. I couldn’t afford the book and it really made me aware of very destructive Agreements I’ve made in life. Thank you.
This is great. Played it while listening to super chill music in the Background. Hope you upload the others for the sake of the rest of the world in search of this knowledge, or those who accidentally come upon it and it changes their lives.
I understand what is being said and It hypothesizes to how the bible had said a phase that is so powerful that if I was not open to what I hear the impeccability of the word. my own word have power that I have to understand what I say and how I say it because I will be the one who has to feel whatever I put out to other because I will always be talking about myself .
(light perceiving light). we are the same exact light Seeing, Hearing, and Feeling everything in this Physical Reality Through Separate Bodies, It is the same with ALL living things the Interaction between living things is NOT dissimilar to Light looking at itself through a smoky mirror. the smoke distorts the lights reflection, which makes the light's Own Reflection Unfamiliar, So the light then regards it's own reflection as a separate Entity. This is why we see One Another as a separate 'Beings' and not the same thing. OUR Physical Bodies *ARE* The 'Smoke Distortion of Our own Reflection
This book makes me think very strongly that the world and human life is already written and designed to end some day. It's like the animal kingdom, perfect!
I like that he makes it clear the power of your words and the affects on others. I disagree with him throwing in Bible scripture and misusing it since “The Word” in the gospels clearly refers to Jesus, not our words out of our own mouths when you read past the few sentences the author quoted in this clip…otherwise very sound wisdom in this clip🙂
Spell a word, cast a spell. To enjoy a good drama, one must suspend it's disbelief, in the knowing that it's false. Put no store in stories. As soon as your not a character in a story any more, you don't exist. The ego story keeps going looking for happiness. Divine love itself is a release from all stories.

When people are looking to stir the pot, others don't have to say anything, unless there is a listening 🎧 device in your vehicle and your talking to yourself
Everybody in the comments are saying it changed their life but nobody says how it changed them. So far, all I hear is a bunch of religious crap quoting bible verses.
Should I discard my favorite rock songs and fiction books if reciting them is equivalent to speaking negativity into the world? Can I only write songs about love and positivity? How do I honestly share how I'm "feeling" today or talk about myself on a first date without reinforcing old spells? Is it breaking the first agreement to discuss how humans were domesticated?
crnkmnky Personally I think that as long as you’re “impeccable” or not committing a sin against yourself by writing these songs or recalling old memories, you are not breaking the first agreement.
I read the 4 agreements and I think it induced cheating in my relationship. I stopped being suspicious stopped making assumptions stopped snooping and it just made her take advantage of that. If I had acted like normal human and not followed these rules I think it would have kept her in check.
This is an unbelievably wordy way to say " treat people with decency" . Something you should have learned as a child. The thought provoked by this is how there could be millions of people that need to read this to know enough to not tell children they have ugly voices. How could you need to be told that being ugly towards people is bad. What if the professor was a pervert. Was that supposed to stay a secret? Is being in the target of a sexual predator something that only exists in your own perception? Was this man a teacher? Because that was a very strange choice of example. That question was the seed he just planted.
I kind of ... get the jest of it ... some of the examples .. lacked in .. reality .. good examples but lacking .. but I still get the jest of the gig ... and for that it is .. more likely correct to a higher degree .....like I hardly ever hear anyone call some one ugley but in private chatter with some one else .. and or the word stupid ....the same ... a better example would be ... the way this alleged Judicial system refers to people as criminals and or defendents .. its amazing how in the legal system .... a person is many things via the words .. another example would be how politicians refer to other human beings as illegal ... those would be better examples and reflect a more realistic reality but I still get the jest of the gig ... think you for sharing.
A Sin is not 'going against yourself' as Ruiz states; it's 'going against' God! Jesus said, 'And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire'. (Matt 18:8)
Paul Shannon A sin against God is also a sin against yourself. God laws and standards are how we are supposed to live but by sinning we ultimately hurt ourselves more than anyone else, that’s why we get grow old, get sick and die. It is written “Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin so that death spread to all men for they all sinned”
Branden Blais Sin only means to miss the mark. If you look at the original Hebrew and Greek words for sin it literally means miss the mark or to fall short. In that sense everyone "sins" many times a day either against themselves or others.

You're welcome :) . While I'm at it can I point you to Bill DonAhue's you tube channel (Hidden meanings is the name of his website) He explains the hidden meaning of the bible using science and shows how it's about chemistry that takes place in our brain which then expands our wiring which then allows us to have a greater connection to reality. His channel is one of my you tube treasure finds.
People obviously work on very different levels of reality. To some people this simple book seems to help them and have them answers to life and comfort. To me it's just a simple book with no wisdom or clever lessons. It just states common sense. It hasn't changed my life at all lol. If this pamphlet can change lives then i suspect those lives and minds were pretty vacant to start with.
Read this book without judgement, make no assumptions. This book has changed my life. Thanks so much for allowing me to listen.

Is this audiobook or just a summary
It's 1 chapter from the actual audiobook
I just wist that the author considered using negative and positive as opposed to black and white as to not encourage subliminal spells based on color.

Talk of God hurts your case. With religion and faith involved, evil is done by good people. If your argument is good, don't need any gods for backup.
