Thank you! Don Miguel Ruiz is an amazing writer. He has a collection of books that open your mind to think inwards and understand some of the fundamental things that makes us who we are an our behaviour towards us and the world. I believe this book should be included as part of high school curriculums for first year students. I am sure it can help many kids many things that they yet dont understand. Anyways, Great job!

Yeaaa!! Awesome, Nathan! To see a book summary, which is 100% not about being productive in the sense society wants us to be productive (parasite narrative) - but to fully come to our senses, and live our true self. Also, since i summarized this book a long time ago (in my journal), it is fascinating to see, how differently we summarize books. I put much more emphasis on the elements before and after the 4 agreements, because i was so blown away by the wisdom of the toltecs.. the story about the skin disease as a metaphor for our emotional disease... the explanation of the parasite... and the Mitote.. thus i highly recommend reading this book to everyone :) have a great day, Phil

Ive heard so many times about this book, I read it all at once in a few hours and I am left in shock about how people can rely on such senseless information. English is not my first language and I feel like this book has been written for a 10 years old, because I have never read such a easy book to read. Was it translated poorly? I did not learn any new word. I agree with comments saying that the agreements are not possible to apply and the examples he gave are so obvious that its hard to believe that someone highly enlightened could have wrote this book. A lot of things do not make sense in the book.

Wonderfull book review. well, i think one of action point from this book is most people live by hundreds, if not thousands, of agreements. take a moment to break one of them right now. Maybe you tell yourself that you can't sing. To break this agreement just sing your heart out and imagine someone applauding your performance. By following this process, you can chip away at all your agreements, replacing them with new ones that set you free. enjoy reading and action fast :)

Nathan. LOVE your work. Have viewed all of them for years now. I recommend them to my executive clients. I have a question. When agreement 2 is discussed here and on other shows, the focus is on not taking criticism from other’s personally. The author’s point, from my study of his work and the sections from his content also focuses on not taking anything good people say personally as well. I think his point is that we should find our own internal barometer and stop looking for external approval from others. By accepting others praise we can then be controlled by seeking other’s approval which the social media sites like FB thrive on. Millions of people have succumb to the desire to have “likes” from strangers and more followers. To break the cycle, he explains that we must see compliments as something good the other person can recognize in themselves.
Would love to know your thoughts.

    Take away:
    1. Be impeccable to yourself - don't reject yourself, ask yourself - did your words uplift people? or did they depress?
    2. Do not take anything personal-When someone insults you, imagine that person is full of poison, and their words are poison projected at you. If you take their insults personally, you will ingest their poison. If you eat their poison, you will feel like a victim and find it hard to
    think clearly.
    3. Do not make assumptions - Ask questions for clarity
    4. Always do your best

Point 2 - sure at times random people toss poison bc they are insane or have problems. But I know people who toss poison just bc they can (they are happy successful and people want to be with them). I am nice to them bc I have too but also try to be sincere - they don't care. I think it is losing mentality (how the weak will be victorious when they they thru jesus) that is continued with point 2.
