Very Informative and great practice. It is one thing to follow along once but the secret for me (that makes the difference), is to go back over a couple of times repeating what I just learned until I no longer have to watch the video, but can repeat just from memory. I try and stay active in FreeCAD while using my newly acquired tips and tricks in my own projects. This channel is always providing new tips and tricks that will help us discover just how powerful FreeCad is and what FreeCAD is capable of providing in 3D design!
Really useful, thanks! That was one of my great bewilderments when I started. But then the ability to constrain knots was written within the last year, so it didn't exist back then.
Really miss bezier curves in FreeCad (like CorelDraw or even fusion360 has). It's much easier to control than BS... Yes, you can emulate BC with BS, but it will cost you a time to do all this construction geometry. Hopefully in the future we will see more capable curves in a sketcher.
fantastico... would it be easy to create a macro for this ???? Update on freecad... and how would it be possible to do this in different planes? not orthogonal????
Hi, thanks for this video. I have a question. How could I constrain 2 b-splines to be tangent to one another with a higher degree of continuity? The technique shown in this video would give G1 continuity, I think. Is it possible to develop constraints that achieve C2? To say this another way, I'm looking for a method to make the the seam between two padded b-splines invisible when using FreeCAD's "Zebra Tool", preferably using Sketch constraints. Or to smoothly join a b-spline to an arc or line, again passing the Zebra test. You probably already know this, but just in case...more info about continuity: th-cam.com/video/jvPPXbo87ds/w-d-xo.html

Thank you for the kind words and support, always a pleasure 😊
omfg - i've been trying to figure this out for about two weeks now - thanks !
Glad I could help
If workaround like this exists, this probably could be done in the freeCAD as a feature - mimicking your manual workaround.
Thank You 🙂
👍😊

I've been wondering how to do this for ages, thanks for sharing!
No problems, glad to help 😁
Brilliant! Congratulations and lots of thanks for all your tutorials!
Glad you like them! Lots more to come 😁
Incredibly helpful! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Very helpful, thank you 👏👏👏

Dang handy!

Is there a way to also use Coincident point on a bspline?
Attaching to a bspline you can use point on object constraint, if your attaching to the ends you can use the coincident constraint.

Isn’t this the same thing as a Bézier curve?
Yes it is, the B in B splines came from Belzier
