It sounds amazing and looks svelte in the photo compared with the other wings. I test rode one with a pillion 30 years ago, it was at least 10 years old and it was a terrifying experience. It was huge and very heavy.
Hiya Mr and Mrs Flyer. Well done for this vlog. I am fortunate to live on the coast near where you have been. I relocated here permanently 3 years ago from leafy Surrey. The roads between Digne Sisteron and St Raphael are a bikers dream. Perfect road surfaces, no speed cameras. Bikers everywhere but little traffic. There are so many routes varying from 1 hr to 5 hours in this area. I would thoroughly recommend any followers of who fancy it to ride this area, as does Teapot. Also nearby multiple passes over the southern alps into Italy, these are amazing, especially nice to Isola 2000 then over the top (3300 metres) to Cuneo in Italy. Fabulous but hairpin heaven. Be warned most high passes only open due to snow and ice from late June to mid October. Hope this helps everyone who fancies it. I love the area on my GS 1300.
Exhilarating video on a stunning GW. Just fantastic to follow you both on this adventure in France. Stunning job. It’s certainly an amazing ad for the GW. Sublime machine. 🙏💪🏍️
It looks so relaxing on the Goldwing: the engine isn't stressed, there is no shifting, you both look comfortable. It's a different style of riding and one that I think I could grow to like.
Just woke up to find the clocks have gone back and it’s still the middle of the night but I have the joy of watching the mighty Goldwing winding its way through the south of France piloted by the Missenden Flyers. I love a great video. I do.
Another great day, stunning views, fantastic roads. Always fun watching your tours. Mrs Fly is a proper trouper. Can't wait for the next instalment. Gold wing is looking lush 👍
Great News Andy. Not sure if you remember me saying my misses was doing her Mod 2. She just called to say she has passed with no faults. So excited for her.
Was touring through here in June, stopped in Moustiers .......... motorcycle touring is the best, and I think your vides are great to show people what its like 👍
What a stunning route. Really enjoying this series. I live in Spain and you're absolutely right, we're so lucky to have such diversity of roads and scenery in Europe. Look forward to the next update
Absolutely brilliant tour video series, always great to have Mrs Flyer on the channel, love the commentary, amazing scenery.... and what a great advertisement for the mighty Goldwing! I never thought I would ever be wanting a Goldwing!
Just "Binge-Watched" episodes 1, 2, and 3, and am awe-struck. Fantastic scenery and backed-up with your excellent background info. Have to admit to being a bit envious of you, but admire how your are Winging it. Same trusted format and another brilliant series. Thanks Again !!
I’m probably never going to own one of these fabulous machines, but at least through your channel, I get a good taste of what it feels like to tour on the mighty GoldWing. Thanks Mr. And Mrs. Flyer.
I’m liking the goldwing videos but done numerous trips on 650/750 bikes all very old …just take whatever you can afford and enjoy …hopefully this trip get more people interested…
I drove that route in 1993 in my TVR 420 SEAC. Great memories! I bought a Wing from Dobles recently and hope to repeat the trip on two wheels next year. Thanks for the reminder!
Another great episode, thanks for sharing your trip. As a Scotsman now living in Australia I 100% agree with your point about taking for granted being so close to all Europe has to offer including bthe UK of course. I love it here in OZ but even here everything bisbso far away especially here in Perth, all the mountains care over East which is a 3-4 hour flight and a several days drive. It's beautiful here in the West and South West is very pretty, North West being a bit more rugged. Your trip was making me a bit homesick for Europe. All the best.
Great video as usual, thank you. I rode this last year, and I am still not over it. For anyone going here in the future, I would recommend riding back up the opposite side of the gorge to the lake as well. It’s a different style of road but even better in a way.
Really loving your tour video , its just perfect MR & MRS enjoying the same thing , looking forward to Mrs Flyer riding the tours when she gets more experienced and confidence .
Thanks for taking me on your tour Andy, it brought back fond memories of riding the gorge in 2004 on my Harley Fat Boy. I was staying at Port Gramould in a caravan though I love the hotel option though.
Thank you so much for a fantastic video as it brought back memories of our trip on my 1200 Aspencade which was a real handful when fully loaded. France has everything.
Enjoyed the video again, the Goldwing has a lovely growl, especially when you overtook the white van, and throttling out of the hairpins, looking forward to the next installment 👍
Nice video TMF, its a great place to ride...i was there many years ago on an original Z900. Incredible scenery. The big Wing is going well! Glad your a 'waver'..it's definitely a problem for some GS riders for some unfathomable reason😂. Look forward to seeing more. Cheers Steve
Enjoying this series especially the sound track of the flat 6 engine. Great scenery looks a good tour so far and the apple carplay is giving a great map on the gold wings display. Carry on the good work
Bloody marvellous. We did the Passes around the Lake District two up on the NT1100, Hard Knott is a 10/10 on the mind focus scale. Enjoying the trip. Cheers
What a sublime route the Gorges du Verdun looked, and so quiet traffic wise. Some beautiful views en route too. Lots of little stopping points to take them in if needed. Also, up to now, very lucky with the weather.....🤞🤞
I love the sound of the six when making that pass on the second day - just like I loved my old Yamaha XS7052D triple exhaust sound back in the late 70's!! Who doesn't love a Triple or a Six! (ala 1985 BMW M5 3.5L E34) Please share a marked out map or two during the days end - planning for tomorrow style. Thanks too, to Carole for her love of pillion passenger and her enjoyment shared of riding tourist style talking of the rooms and her special moments of the day's ride. Keep it coming!!
One of my favorite places in France. Did the gorge once in an lengthened and widened old-timer Mercedes camper without power steering, wouldn't mind going back by bike someday...
I had a place in the south of France for 20 years and we kept a 1500 SE Goldwing there. My wife and I would regularly ride up to Castellane to have some lunch, ride the fabulous Gorge du Verdon and the Lac de Sainte-Croix and then ride back home to the coast via pont de L’artuby and Draguinan……..it never failed to lift the spirits, France has some truly spectacular scenery and beautifully surfaced roads. We sold up just before Brexit, I really miss it. Thanks for the video, brought back some lovely memories.
@@TheMissendenFlyer yes and no…….i miss France, but it allowed me to be able to retire at 53 and have more time to travel and explore. The problem with owning a property abroad and only having 6 weeks holiday a year is that you feel obliged to visit it all the time, and there are always jobs that need doing. I can’t complain, ultimately it was the right thing to do.
Having just returned from Yosemite, yes, the ride today does look like it. I think I have to try to test ride a Goldwing. It sounds so smooth and seems to accelerate nicely.
Love this tour series, have been there in Castellane three times with my brother. We stayed two times in that same hotel and once in the hotel of tea pot one. Although back then there was no swimmingpool we had a room overlooking the parking lot Looking forward to the rest of the series.
@@TheMissendenFlyer, your hotel bigger rooms although the hotel on the other side of the square had a garage for the motor bikes. Will start watching the next episode.
Nice one Andy, the circuit of the gorgee is a real favourite for me cycling as it's a couple of hours drive from my place in Menton. 85km circuit roughly. Next time try the little interior loop called Route Des Cretes, it is spectacular. Took my gf up there in my old Porsche and she had some vertigo but loved views
What fantastic roads. Loved the first one from the restaurant to the hotel. Quite stunning. Great question to Mrs T as always wanted to know how she felt as a passenger 👍
Lovely video. Did that route about ten years ago, unfortunately in a car but not unfortunately with my family. They do call it the French Grand Canyon and where you stopped we were watching eagles flying below us, stunning.
Good evening Andy, I’ve never been that south in France but I must say it’s beautiful there. Great motorcycle roads. I live in a relatively flat country and I just love mountains, gorges etc. We had 20°C today so I did a 37 km bicycle ride, very likely the last one of this year because the weather’s going to change soon into much colder weather. Stay safe.
The big Hong pulls and shifts very smooth sounding. Looks good too. Heck of a ride 5832. Lot of upheaval. Hard to conceive of the time. It has a real horn. Wow. The ominous white van. There's one in every crowd. Man, a great hotel with a good view of the rocks. Nice. The cost is about average here in the states now. Hard to get anything for $150 now worth anything. Plus $30 tax. Crazy expensive. Money well spent. Cracking roads. All good from east Kentucky USA. Look forward to the next vid.
I know you don't get so many views for these videos and like you I can't understand why. Lovely footage, great narrative and a thoroughly enjoyable 20+ minutes of vicarious pleasure. Looking forward to the rest of the tour 👍
Another great episode, watching this at 8.00 Saturday evening, total rubbish on the TV, so looking at you and Mrs Flyer enjoying yourselves , hotel looks great 😊 🏴
Loved that scenery in the Gorge. France rarely fails to deliver on beautiful scenery. I generally find on French roads that the only thing faster than a French van driver is a French biker - and the only thing faster than a French biker is an Italian biker!
Another great tour video, the views were spectacular and the roads were awesome ( I do love a good hairpin bend) Your hotel looks good so will add that to my list of places to stay when touring in that part of France, especially as it has secure parking ( a must in the South Of France) have to say that the blue paint on your Wing really "Pops" in the sun 😊 looking forward to the next episode of "Winging it"
That looks stunning Andy wow.. Me n the Mrs are planning a trip for next year so you are giving some great ideas. Just going to do what you guys are doing and have a loose plan . Thnks for the vid look forward to next week
Been lucky enough to visit Yosemite & The Grand Canyon, you’re right, resembles both, the view very much like Glacier Point in Yosemite. Great tour video btw
Another cracking video Andy, it just flew over watching it and now can't wait for episode 4! That was a cracking road , definitely a proper biking road for sure. I've ridden lots of France but that's a part of France i don't think I've been to before but might well put that right next year! As I said great video and keep up the good work guys 👍🏻
@@TheMissendenFlyer Always nice when that happens! Did you get my recommendation of the Grange? I wanted to read it back to make sure it made sense but Doesn't seem to be there.

Second hotel looked nice. Its very difficult to beat being on a motorcycle in gorgeous weather in lovely surroundings. Looked a good holiday
@TheMissendenFlyer No, I've never tried one. I probably think it is overkill for just me one up riding, but I can not help admiring it. Sort of a Range Rover/Bentley of the motorcycle world.
Yes agreed - not required if you're only ever solo as you do - though having said that, on a long ride with motorways it's my bike of choice....and the Range Rover analogy holds up quite well (as a Range Rover owner!).......
It's the oddest thing. I have never, ever wanted a Goldwing until now.
What a beautiful machine.
I'm becoming worried about myself. 🙂
I was exactly the same until I ride one - instantly hooked!
