I love the line on the Battery level where the USS Ronald Reagan has had a missile launched at it and only Sam can stop it and he tells Grim 'are you telling me I have to win one for the Gipper?' And Grim's like 'er dude wtf does that even mean??!' 'Never Mind, Grim, I AM old'.
i dont know about my favorite but one that woth mention is in chaos theory, north korea when you interrogate a very loyal operator and he says "i have no intelligence", and sam goes "you just called youself stupid".
I think the moment where Sam Fisher got enraged hearing Lambert's voice recording about Sarah's fake death is the greatest moment in Splinter Cell history
***** No its not xD, you cant even move bodies, it focuses more on action and not stealth, real splinter cell game play is avoiding conflict and sneaking past without killing
The revelation in Conviction when Fisher finds the audio recording of Lambert confessing that he lied to Fisher about his daughters death was a really cool scene. The cherry on top is that immediately afterwards you have to escape an onslaught of evil Splinter Cells with the iconic lights colored red instead of green.
F l a g i n a agreed. I am a die hard fan and was put off by most everything regarding conviction. However that scene was amazing. So much emotion. Easily better than what he chose for #1
Luke Keene Cosby yeah. He lied to Fisher, set up Sarah's fake death to hide her from the mole in the Third Echalon, and use that news to leverage Fisher into finding the mole.
One of the best ever moments for me is in Displace in Chaos Theory when fisher interrogates a suit loving mercenary who goes on about his Andretti designer suit to which Sam replies 'I'm not a tuxedo kind of guy' to which the guy says 'yeah but you are some kind if spy right?' And Sam quips 'I'm a real spy, not a tuxedo spy'. Take that 007. Now that's a proper diss.
IMO the best moment of the series is the Conviction credits: "You don't leave family behind [...] He said "Vic, I love you like a brother". Brother... That's family, right? [bomb goes off somewhere]"
+Luca Gruber I agree... The bank mission in Chaos Theory is my fav mission of the whole franchise. I actually want an entire game based on that mission. SC is my favourite fanchise.
Lambert's confession about protecting Sam and Sarah from Tom Reed was one of the best moments in gaming's history. You just feel so relieved and in the same time so sad about Sam killing his friend. And then Sam's pure rage, combined with the music, giving you infinite "mark and execute" ability was such a gold.
***** Chaos Theory invented the styles that suits you and Blacklist made it better. And also I love the fact that they stop it with the 3 alarms and mission is over. That shit always pisses me off in the first game.
16:15 The receptionist was played perfectly. She really made the scene with her pompous "MISTER Reed". She is one of those people who thinks she has more power than she does.
The blackout scene in the basement of the presidential palace in the first Splinter Cell remains one of my favourite and most memorable moments in a video game. Very glad to see you included part of it here.
+Anonix Mercer I agree. Personally, I never hated Conviction. On the contrary! I think that it was necessary for the development of the franchise. While I did enjoy the previous games more, like many more fans, I don't think any of us would have been happy with constantly getting the same old same old, no mather how good it was to begin with. That also doesn't mean that I was a huge fan of that instalment. I did enjoy playing and finishing it, but I just didn't get the urge that I had with other SC games, to replay the game many times, and have fun with it even more than I did playing it the first time around.
Also Convictions co-op is literally one of my favorite parts of the series. Even if people didn't like the change in dynamic it's hard to argue that no good came of the smaller and more intricate maps that it added to the series.
***** Conviction shows how rogue Sam Fisher could become! He was much scarier, meaner and showed the beast that was always inside him! I just love that game! Although all the games in the franchise are world class, also the voice of Michael Ironside played a major role in shaping the character in the most badass way! I loved Blacklist as well, but was disappointed not to hear Sam's original voice! Hope they reinstate Ironside again in the future games! It's like Hitman without Bateman's voice!
My personal favorite moment out of every game was in Conviction when Sam learned the truth about Sarah in Grim's office. From the echo of Sarah's voice as a child, to the great use of Building Steam with a Grain of Salt playing in the background, and how Sam got so overcome wit' fury that the recordings started to sound warped. That whole scene made the hairs on my arms stand up. Still just as dope as the first time I saw it. Best moment of all time.
Here you go #SplinterCell fans. My #TOP10 moments of the whole series. Go ahead and murder me with disagreement and criticism ;) Just kidding, go easy on me, please ;))
Love the lighthouse level in Chaos Theory soooo much. It was just a perfect execution of atmosphere, tention and challenge in a game. It was freaking glorious.
Hey how about the moment when Sam discovers the truth about Sarah? I mean the mission where Grim played the recordings of Lambert. Man...that moment where we saw Sam goes furious as Hell. Then followed by an escape scene (sort of) with unlimited Mark & Execute. That's a really emotional yet badass moment in sc series.
Jayr Jayr As I answered somebody else who asked me the same question in the comments -it was an extremely hard decision to make. Here's my line of reasoning: Conviction had so many badass moments, and I didn't want to use more than two scenes from the same instalment. With that said, note how some instalments had only one scene in the countdown, like the original Splinter Cell, for example. Having already decided that the no.1 moment is going to be from Conviction (The ''I used to work here'' scene), I was left with only one more that I could include in the video. And I decided to go with the interrogation scene, rather than the scene you ask for. Why? Well, above all, that's just my choice. But, to defend my decision with an reasonable argument, I made it because I believe that the interrogation scene is a monumental moment that reveals which direction the development of Sam Fishers character is going to go. Not only did it have shock value, it has fundaental and evolutionary value as well. As for the moment when he finds out the truth about his daughter, it is extremely awesome and badass, but in my opinion, it doesnt top the two scenes from Conviction that I decided to go with.
How was Sam finding out about Lambert NOT on this list? Look I know this is subjective but that scene was hands down one of the most emotional ever made. Sam was raging so hard he took on dozens with precise shots to their heads. On a shitstorm scale of 1 through 10, Sam was 1,000.
Jb Markowicz I agree the 360 version was not as good different level design and game mechanics were all messed up I played it initially on Ps2 and was let down by the 360 version.
The White House showdown from the end of Conviction doesn't even make the list? Da hell. The way he disarmed Reed and took down those other SCs even after being shot was amazing.
1pyroace1 Oh yeah - Brother, that's family, right? Awesome moment. Conviction had so many of those awesome scenes and moments, you could make a video just for them.
I'm surprised that the ending of Conviction, particularly the very satisfying option of executing Reed, wasn't featured. After the way Conviction played out, taking out Reed was fun. And even if you spare him, it all wraps itself up just beautifully! ;)
I was a huge MGS fan till I played the first level of Splinter Cell and experienced gameplay based on stealth and not action. After that, I just didn't care for MGS and its ridiculous writing and faux stealth. Up until Conviction, I absolutely adore the subtlety and understated way the stories unfold. I mean, the first game ends not with some over dramatic 30 minute fight with the main bad guy, but simply something along the lines of Lambert saying, "Nikoladze is vulnerable, take the shot." *bang* He's dead and Sam just slips out unnoticed as everyone freaks out. To me it is one of the coolest endings of any video game. It's elegant, slick, and feels grounded in reality. A great way to cap the whole theme of the game.
Completely agree, Splinter Cell always felt genuine and had a level of realism that I was missing from other stealth games (Up until Conviction that is as you mentioned). Chaos Theory is my favourite, the interrogations are just too funny xD
Michael then you didnt play it and I dont need to talk to you. Also the amount of in-depth things you can do in MGS 3 is far beyond all of the splinter cell games combined :-) thats why I like MGS. Not to mention the codec calls. Thats like own story in the game story... So yeah. I am not going to start a war against 2 amazing series. But you stick to your Splinter cell and I will stick to my MGS series
I remember having nerves for that one. The beauty of these games is they kept you on the edge of your seat when you played. That mission required some skill because you couldn’t kill any one. Had to sneak through mostly unnoticed
Great video. I'm not a veteran of these games but just started playing the very first one after finishing blacklist and I've gotta say, I wish they would make a new one.
i love all the splinter cell games but mark my words, the first game is the true MASTERPIECE, every map was a challenge, abattoir = who can forget the saving people part here, CIA HQ = who can forget the sneaking here, KALINATEK building = who this forget this crazy map, CHINESE EMBASSY part 1 and 2 = both totally badass running after people for keypad codes, PRESIDENTIAL PALACE = the daddy of them all and btw did you try KOLA CELL, VSELKA SUBMARINE and VSELKA INFILTRATION, they beat the best maps in other splinter cell games
First Splinter Cell on my PC runs super smooth on max setting on tutorial, but when i load police station level it just shows me a white screen for 5 seconds and it crash to the desktop. When i launched the SC Blacklist on high settings everything was ok. Pandora Tommorow just crash when i try to load a level. Fuck you Ubisoft! So to play SC 1 and SC Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory i need to buy HD Collection for PS3.
@@chmtech unfortunately I've only played the java mobile phone edition of this game when I was a kid. I did find the game awesome but lack of technical advancement in my family and a little of that in my area, I didn't even knew there was a console version of this game and the series went further on. But I'll try this definitely when I get a console or a PC. Also I heard they've made a TV adaptation or movie related to this series, have you seen it ? What were your thoughts about that ?
I've only played Pandora Tomorrow and the moment that really got to me was the decision to kill or not kill Dahlia Tal. She been nothing but helpful to you when out of the blue your ordered to kill her with no explanation.
The introduction of Double Agent... at the end of Iceland, where Lambert tells Sam that her daughter is dead, and the cutscenes that shows Sam falling down... is one of my favorite Splinter Cell moments. Conviction itself is full of great moments.
I am a fan of Splinter Cell, and I totally agree on the countdown. You should make a video on the top LEVELS of the Splinter Cell series, unless, of course, you already made one.
Lorenzo Escalante Yeah, thanks for the advice. And, no, I haven't already made one, but I was planning on it. It's a lot of work, so it will take some time for me to work out a concept, the criteria for the countdown, and then scripting, recording, editing. Fju, makes me nervous already :D
Ah, this brings a tear to my eye. I remember the days when even Hideo Kojima was a bit worried about Splinter Cell beating him at his own game, referencing the franchise in MGS trailers. Boy, has this gone downhill for the last ten years. But these games were real blockbusters back then. They were huge.
Loved your list. Number 5 was horrifying and is memorable for that factor infamously so. Honorable Mentions I like about the series: (10) Anytime you successfully lore a guard or a group of guards into a wall mine trap (9) The Oil Rig mission SC 1 because it was very differently paced than rest of game and not till Conviction do we see this kind of pacing. Plus it was a good challenge stealth wise too. (8) Anytime you took out two guys with one sniper round was an accomplishment (7) In Conviction when you cleared a room of guys Sam would say comments like "Sloppy" or "Close" if he nearly died, but if Sam clears a room of guys is not spotted or injured he will say stuff like, "Guess the training paid off" or "All done." (6) Chaos Theory as a whole really is the best in the franchise, well balanced and polished the entire series' mechanics, plus story is good. My Favorite mission is the bank mission, for two reasons: you get several insertion points and these change gameplay, in court yard if you turn lights out with the switch Sam makes a menacing comment, if you look in the bank president's office there is a safe behind a picture on the wall which can be hacked revealing a gold brick which makes a good distraction for guards, and of course blowing up the bank vault is fun! (5) Lock Picking! Because it really defined this series and though it so tedious it reminds us: Sam is breaking into someplace to get data for national security purposes. A locked door though tedious and minor is where espionage begins at a novice level. (4) In Conviction anytime Sam bashes a human shield's head into a wall and makes a comment (ie "Face meet wall, wall this is a face.") (3) I liked the split jump and acrobatics of SC1-3 Next gen double agent had it but they were not really a big part of gameplay in the Next Gen Double Agent. (2) Double Agent on PS2 had a way better story developed for Sam than the Next Gen Double Agent. It plays like an even more polished version of Chaos Theory. Honestly if you never played it on PS2 or Xbox Original get an emulated version online if you dont have a copy. Way better on PS2 gameplay wise and story wise. (1) In SC1 on PC using all the cheats on repeat playthroughs for fun and even the secret area in the training level where you start. You turn to left of where Sam is standing, do acrobatic wall jump grab, type in code (on most gaming sites with cheats for this game) and when the door opens you can go into an office to have a conversation with Grim. It is very good conversation and if you knock her out Lambert fires Sam. Complete with a mission fail if you successfully knock her out cold. :-) Happy Gaming
Awesome list bro. Thanks so much for sharing. I'll have to get my hands on Double agent PS2 version. Thanks for the awesome share bro, one more time. Stay strong!
I only wish they kept Michael Ironside as the voice of Sam and just a random guy doing the mocap... It would have given Blacklist a much better immersion, more empathy to the story. I just loved the intensity they delivered with the story of Conviction, you just got even closer to Sam, and Ironside provided the best of his performance in that game and that whole unfolded story got a bit thrown away by stepping him down as a voiceactor for Blacklist. My favorite series! Nice countdown man!
I know right? But I think they should've introduced a new main character. Sam Fisher is getting on in his age, it would have been awesome for Sam to be the one giving orders from HQ to the new guy. passing the torch.
The shot at Nikoladze and the escape after you pulled the trigger. Pure gold. And in Chaos Theorie the bank. I felt like i was playing a good recreation of Mission Impossible 1.
Cool video man, I agree with most of those missions you picked maybe not necessarily in that order though, the train level on Pandora Tomorrow is and probably will always be my favourite level
Choas Theory was a masterpiece for its slow pace and the way you could complete the side missions and the different ways you could take on eniemes, Conviction was a goood turning point and a great way to introduce a different and dark Sam, Blacklist was a great way to try and bring back some of that stealth element, Splinter Cell S.A.R. was the hardest fucking piece of shit ive ever played ( I loved it but it was so hard ) and Pandora Tomorrow was equally fucking difficult but it introduced a new multiplayer mode that was so fun and cool to play with your friends.
love it! LOVE IT ALL! BUT. I am sad that you didn't include anything from Archer and Kestrel - specifically the way it ended with a gruesome introduction of Kobin.
Oh man... Chaos theory was the #2 best game of all time for me. You could be SOOOO Sneaky! Like the gun was a last resort for me in that game. Always the hands. The ninja thing is hilarious on hikkaido, after that i went insane with sams knife and whispering things like im a ninjaa and WYAH!! Love that game so much!
pretty much anything Ironside speaks is gold in all the games too. "Face, meet wall.... wall, this is a face" - environmental kill in conviction after an interrogation... was always a favourite lol.
Great list....i would have put on this list how Andrew Kobin (awesome charcter btw ) turns from a bad guy in Convictin to practaclly be part of 4th echelon team in Blacklist.
Good list, and I think you hit the nail on the head when you said Conviction angered a lot of die hard fans yet still delivered an awesome story. I was initially one of those angered fans, but after playing it I felt the game play switch fit with the insane story Conviction had.
the first non-memorable moment that didn't make the top of the list (the ND133 scene) was what Sam did a lot in the novels. He just finished his objectives but let the authorities play a part in the clean-up of his missions. That's the real mark of a Ghost Splinter Cell.
really enjoyed your top ten, but I think you missed the Iceland extraction clip on ps2/xbox 360 where Lambert tells Fisher his daughter was dead and Fisher getting into jail. That moment made me cry haha
I've played this game series since 2003 but i was almost an child (13) at that time to understand the whole genius of the plot. I never aknowledge the very dark and mature content of splinter cell. Thanks to this video i will play some of the old games again!
I’ve never played a lot of the Spohn your cell games. But I absolutely loved splinter cell conviction. That was my first exposure to splinter cell. It was nothing short of awesome. I have since gone on to play several others but conviction will always hold a special place in my heart.
Sooo ... a lot of people REALLY hate Conviction. To be fair, yeah, it is not fully a stealth game (it had some but not much). But it was a heck a lot of fun to play. Surely, in the old games, if you get discovered, it's game over but in Conviction, Fisher did not actually care if he was discovered. He was looking for blood. He noticed that the place he worked for was just another 'world domination' group (a cliche), he killed his best friend for nothing and he noticed he was crying for the death of his daughter for nothing. Bottom line, he was pissed. (plus, he stopped from making Third Echelon just another group who uses war an excuse why they say 'America must stop wars' or 'a war to end all wars', or 'This world must be controlled because it is too complicated and chaotic' ... to be fair, they are right but the actions how they execute this is wrong) Oh, if i hear one more thing about Splinter Cell is better than MGS, leave. Just leave. And respect your elders (you know what i'm talking about)
CT and Double Agent were definitely the best in the series for me. Conviction ruined it for me by taking away the consideration. You have to admit that there were never any REAL enemies in Conviction. You can literally sprint through the map, shooting everybody in the chest to give you just enough time to KO them. In fact, I did a whole playthrough like that. Just running through the missions and using melee and occasionally shooting somebody in the chest while I was running at them to give myself more time to reach them before they gunned me down. Chaos Theory and Double Agent were the best of both old school stealth and slow-paced action, while ConViction took away all the ancestry and heritage, and instead just made it cater to the lowest common denominator. Splinter Cell wasn't meant to be for everyone, but now it is. That's why Ironside left. I know. "He left because they found a younger actor who could do motion capture as well!" But he was actually already leaving during Conviction because he didn't like the new direction. Only a good amount of money and some lies made him come back.
I totally agree! Conviction was too fluid and easy and the stealth feel just wasn't there, btw which double agent did you play? Original one or 2nd generation version?
Muhammad Abdur Rahman Played old gen Double Agent on PS2, then later new gen Double Agent on PC. The Spies vs Mercenaries in Double Agent Next Gen was also my favorite ever.
+Duspende As someone who has played every Splinter Cell game save for Conviction (Blacklist included) I'm not sure that I can totally agree with you. I do like the more fast paced feel of the newer games but you are right they are not quite as fun as the original games.
I couldn't agree more on the Number 1 spot. I had chills throughout a lot of Conviction, but that moment alone made the entire game for me. I would have liked it more if the flashbacks on the walls dwelled on some of Sam's darker moments from the first 3 games though.
So many moments and memories, going through the comments and watching the video made me recall some awesome memories One moment I really think it is funny and shows Fisher as we know it Is a scene in the last level of Pandora Tomorrow when Sam is in the elevator and when it suddenly stops Lambert says 'The elevator just stopped' or something along this line And Fisher just answers with his sarcastic voice 'Thanks Lambert' The all thing is about 5 seconds But it always brought me joy Cheers to everyone!
I think the most iconic and revealing scene is when Sam is informed his daughter is still alive and he talks to her. Not only did it reveal the heinous nature of 3rd Echelon, but it allowed for new characters, once viewed as enemies, to become ill gotten allies that will be quintessential should the franchise continue.
Conviction had an endless stream of one-liners and was Michael Ironsides' last game. Super fluid gameplay and the best emotional connection. Wallhack goggles were probably too OP. Double agent was probably the worst with insanely long load times and absymal performance on a high end PC of the times. I thought the series was done after that.
I recently replayed all the SC games in order. Chaos Theory has the best lines. Mine was Sam asking for a raise at the bank and Lambert gave it to him. Also nice to hear him willing to do Coen a favor with phone line tapping. Of all the handlers she gets along with Sam the most.
I am a big fan of this game series as well and my favourite game was Chaos Theory but that was because i loved the rag doll psychics of the game and made it feel more real but other then that, they are all very fantastic games and i agree with everything else that you said :)
Oh my god, i know right? :D I am just happy they actually did go back to form with Blacklist with the ability to move bodies and such..... I am currently playing Blacklist at this moment actually.
Conviction was definitly the best game in my opinion. Maybe it is not how a classical SC part should be but it is connected with a nostalgia thing to me because I played the shit out of it in the summer some years ago
+Sepehr Az Lol thats so stupid is hard not to laugh. Conviction was far less grown up with a cliche over the top storyline that just didnt fit with the understated tone and style of the previous games. There was also no humor or character to Fisher anymore, he just became the videogame version of Liam Neeson, and we all know how funny Neeson is.
Sepehr Az Retired middle aged agent starts beating people up looking for his daughter. Remind you of a film? Also what are you talking about?! ever seen the West Wing? Most political show you can find, also insanely hilarious. Either way Conviction is not political, its a "personal revenge story", another cliche and excuse to have over-the-top emotional voice acting. The original three however were political.
I know it's not technically canon, but I love the animations where Sam is hanging from a pipe, lowers himself upside down, and slices an enemy's throat. I always thought that was just so freaking cool.
I love all the games, I have my top list of the best moments, too... But in my case it was thanks to Conviction that I begin playing the rest of the games, I just love the way Sam do things in that game and something that I had love about the story is the way Vic Coste narrates Sam's story like it was an old west story. 😊😊😊😊😊💞💞💞💞💞💚💚💚💚💚💚 It's been a while since we got a new Splinter Cell game, just hope if the Netflix animate serie that is planned to be release has some succeed, maybe can bring a new game of this wonderful franchise, Sam Fisher deserves a properly return after this years.😭😭😭😭😭💞💞💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Excellent video, my friend.👍👍👍👍👍👍
The very end of double agent when Sam knocked out a swat team member , steals his gear and has it out with the terrorists on the boat in the NY harbor was my fav
Ending of Conviction was the best: " - He said: I love you like a brother. ... Brother, that's family right?" - The alarm goes off and we hear shooting (epicness overload)
I think an underrated moment in the series is the assassination of Hugo Lacerda in the second mission of Chaos Theory. Really well made scene that had a lot of suspense building up towards it.
One of the greatest game franchises of all time. Such a shame the direction it took in these latest installments... but things have to change, don't they? Chaos Theory had set the bar so high that I honestly don't think they would ever be able to surpass that game anyway.
The older splinter cell games for sure had its most challenging stealth gameplay. The older ones when I played I was younger to. So the stealth parts and hiding felt so intense. Not getting caught. I’m hoping we hear some news about a next gen Splinter cell. Can’t wait to see an improvement.
I think it was pretty spot on, however the mission in conviction where Sam raids the White House should have AT least been SOMEWHERE in the top 10... Humble opinion... HUGE fan of the series as well
Awesome countdown, awesome franchise. I'm definitely on the list of fans who, while nostalgic for the previous format, felt that Conviction was a step in an interesting and fun direction. Double Agent was a beautiful game (c'mon, the snow levels, the cruise ship mission!) with a great story arc, but man did it feel clunky and buggy. The original trilogy are straight up gaming classics and shall forever have a place in my heart.
"Medals don't help me sleep at night Lambert." I fucking love that line.
DankWraith i remember that line in Chaos Theory where Sam saves the Pilots in Seoul.
Can someone post that scene as a standalone vid? Can't find it anywhere and it's a wonderful line. Dialogue like this makes Sam human and grounded.
Rafael Economides i did it once but the deleted it. Let see if I still have it somewhere.
Iconic
i dont know about my favorite but one that woth mention is in chaos theory, north korea when you interrogate a very loyal operator and he says "i have no intelligence", and sam goes "you just called youself stupid".
+DCSAmimd Yeah that's probably my fav as well! :D
I think the moment where Sam Fisher got enraged hearing Lambert's voice recording about Sarah's fake death is the greatest moment in Splinter Cell history
OH YES!!
Was gonna say the same thing.
I thought that conviction had the best story by far but gameplay wise it just wasnt a splinter cell game, still enjoyed it though
TheBanana Man Gameplay wise it is a Splinter Cell but a more faster one and not such a slow like the first ones.
***** No its not xD, you cant even move bodies, it focuses more on action and not stealth, real splinter cell game play is avoiding conflict and sneaking past without killing
One famous dialogue:
"Your gun should be your last resort, invisibility is your best weapon"
Wait wait... First mission of PT?? Right? :D
Yup
Also
If your light meter is low, you are ghost's shadow. If its at max, you lit up like dutch brothel
Ah, the mantra of the classic stealth games.
Unless your last resort jams, you're carrying a thousand dollar deathwish.
Easily better than what he chose for #1
WOW Lambert lied?!
Luke Keene Cosby yeah. He lied to Fisher, set up Sarah's fake death to hide her from the mole in the Third Echalon, and use that news to leverage Fisher into finding the mole.
I'm a die hard fan myself and I still liked Conviction... it was Sam unleashed, and the story was amazing.
Most of 007 mission require him to blend with social elite this must dress well
Sam does not have to do that
that's because sam uses the shadows
"I'm the kind of spy who gets blood all over your Andretti unless you give me information......." :)
IMO the best moment of the series is the Conviction credits:
"You don't leave family behind [...] He said "Vic, I love you like a brother". Brother... That's family, right? [bomb goes off somewhere]"
Yes truly a great moment in the game
Vic: That's what i thought.
I think the most badass moment was
"I'm sorry but the office is closed. Mr...?"
"Fisher. I used to work here"
OMG SO BADASS
proceeds to fucking blow up the fucking building
how come you didn't mention the bank mission in Chaos Theory. it was so unique and the soundtrack my god. Amon Tobin really made Chaos Theory perfect
Man, you rigth!!
+Luca Gruber I agree... The bank mission in Chaos Theory is my fav mission of the whole franchise. I actually want an entire game based on that mission. SC is my favourite fanchise.
Tbh, half of my time in Chaos Theory was probably spent on that mission. Good times.
It was quite a simple mission.. Too bad it breaking into the vault was easy
BRo its boring mission
Lambert's confession about protecting Sam and Sarah from Tom Reed was one of the best moments in gaming's history. You just feel so relieved and in the same time so sad about Sam killing his friend. And then Sam's pure rage, combined with the music, giving you infinite "mark and execute" ability was such a gold.
It's been 10 years since Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was released! What made this game the best in the series? th-cam.com/video/4Az6HmhnFsE/w-d-xo.html
***** One of the best games of all time.
***** A true Stealth experience...
Unlike the new ones - that ARE good - but can't get NEAR the pure DARK experience that Chaos Theory have.
João Paulo I really love Pandora Tomorrow
Sean Pasquarella Me too! That game inspires me.
Don't miss out on TOP 10 #SplinterCell moments. #SplinterCell2015
It's interesting
Ace recker Do you have a favorite Splinter Cell moment?
***** Sam and Bricks' peace
Its realy cool
The blackout scene in the basement of the presidential palace in the first Splinter Cell remains one of my favourite and most memorable moments in a video game. Very glad to see you included part of it here.
+Anonix Mercer I agree. Personally, I never hated Conviction. On the contrary! I think that it was necessary for the development of the franchise. While I did enjoy the previous games more, like many more fans, I don't think any of us would have been happy with constantly getting the same old same old, no mather how good it was to begin with. That also doesn't mean that I was a huge fan of that instalment. I did enjoy playing and finishing it, but I just didn't get the urge that I had with other SC games, to replay the game many times, and have fun with it even more than I did playing it the first time around.
splinter cell multi! Lets play
Also Convictions co-op is literally one of my favorite parts of the series. Even if people didn't like the change in dynamic it's hard to argue that no good came of the smaller and more intricate maps that it added to the series.
***** Conviction
shows how rogue Sam Fisher could become! He was much scarier, meaner and showed
the beast that was always inside him! I just love that game! Although all the
games in the franchise are world class, also the voice of
Michael Ironside played a major role in shaping the character in

I loved Blacklist as well, but was disappointed not to hear Sam's original
voice! Hope they reinstate Ironside again in the future games!
It's like Hitman without Bateman's voice!
Sepehr Az I agree completely!
they should've added a multiplayer
At 8:55 you made a mistake
Love the lighthouse level in Chaos Theory soooo much. It was just a perfect execution of atmosphere, tention and challenge in a game. It was freaking glorious.
i always found getting around most guys on the lighthouse was pretty easy but that lighthouse keeper at the top was a complete bastard! 😝
Also i love each and every Splinter Cell game. The only drawback of blacklist is the absence of Mr Ironside.
I like Ironside, although I thought Eric Johnson did a great job in the role.
@@Liberator130 Agreed.
CH Gorog yeah the only thing wrong with him is he sounded too young
My personal favorite moment. Scene was done perfect in every way.
Great vid. I agree the rappelling in Shanghai is up there. It's small moments like that that make this series so amazing
How was Sam finding out about Lambert NOT on this list? Look I know this is subjective but that scene was hands down one of the most emotional ever made. Sam was raging so hard he took on dozens with precise shots to their heads. On a shitstorm scale of 1 through 10, Sam was 1,000.
Double Agent was a pure masterpiece and my favorite
RGaming It was indeed a spectacular game!
RGaming I'd agree if you mean the original Xbox version
Jb Markowicz I agree the 360 version was not as good different level design and game mechanics were all messed up I played it initially on Ps2 and was let down by the 360 version.
DA 360 is my 3rd fave so far
RGaming It has aged horribly, unfortunately. Chaos Theory was my favourite.
Underrated franchise imho.
The White House showdown from the end of Conviction doesn't even make the list? Da hell. The way he disarmed Reed and took down those other SCs even after being shot was amazing.
The ending of conviction was bad ass
1pyroace1 Oh yeah - Brother, that's family, right? Awesome moment. Conviction had so many of those awesome scenes and moments, you could make a video just for them.
I'm surprised that the ending of Conviction, particularly the very satisfying option of executing Reed, wasn't featured. After the way Conviction played out, taking out Reed was fun. And even if you spare him, it all wraps itself up just beautifully! ;)
My favourite Splinter Cell line of all time has to be "Have you started yet? Fisher? Holy Christmas, you're at the end." Gets me every time.
Love Splinter Cell. Best stealth game series ever imo. MGS is also great but Splinter Cell is better I don't care what anybody says.
For me its Metal Gear Solid, because damn that story in MGS :) yet Splinter Cell is right behind :)
Gm
4:02 oh man that song!! Brings back a lot of memories
Always felt that the CIA infiltration in SC1 was my most memorable mission ever.
I played the first one on PC Xbox and PS2 just to go sure not to miss anything. Hell loved the first one.
SnekPL go on properties and run in xp compatibility mode
slidenerd TRUTH!!!
I remember everything you just said like it was yesterday
Loved Pandora Tomorrow. A very underrated Splinter Cell game imo
Very nice countdown, I agree with your top!! Sam Fisher rocks!
Thanks bro!
Why didn't Shetland trap Fisher to stop him from hindering him as he didn't suspect his friend at all?
@@chmtech unfortunately I've only played the java mobile phone edition of this game when I was a kid. I did find the game awesome but lack of technical advancement in my family and a little of that in my area, I didn't even knew there was a console version of this game and the series went further on. But I'll try this definitely when I get a console or a PC. Also I heard they've made a TV adaptation or movie related to this series, have you seen it ? What were your thoughts about that ?
"The world's small , nasty , complicated and everybody dies alone"The best quote for me
As a big fan of the series.... awesome video. Well done dude
I'm so excited for the new Splinter Cell. Been waiting for it for so long.
Great list! Brings back some amazing memories!
I definitely think you picked the very best. Well done. I agree with all of us 100%.
+Steven Hay no I wanna keep Sam, just reboot the series with a younger Sam, like they did with the Tomb Raider series.
CT was amazing! And it's 10 years now that it came out.
Cosmo Kramer Chaos Theory.... So good. I like the first one the best though.
What's ur #1 favorite?
Killed by a ninja! Cool!
pretty much anything Ironside speaks is gold in all the games too.
"Face, meet wall.... wall, this is a face" - environmental kill in conviction after an interrogation... was always a favourite lol.
I'm also a huge fan of the Splinter Cell's Saga. You've earned a new suscriber!
Great list....i would have put on this list how Andrew Kobin (awesome charcter btw ) turns from a bad guy in Convictin to practaclly be part of 4th echelon team in Blacklist.
he isnt a part of the team, sam fisher still doenst trust him 100%
Good list, and I think you hit the nail on the head when you said Conviction angered a lot of die hard fans yet still delivered an awesome story.
I was initially one of those angered fans, but after playing it I felt the game play switch fit with the insane story Conviction had.
I know, right?! Thanks for sharing that.
I love this! You did the series a huge justice man!
the first non-memorable moment that didn't make the top of the list (the ND133 scene) was what Sam did a lot in the novels. He just finished his objectives but let the authorities play a part in the clean-up of his missions. That's the real mark of a Ghost Splinter Cell.
Standalone Rider was that in Pandora Tomorrow.
really enjoyed your top ten, but I think you missed the Iceland extraction clip on ps2/xbox 360 where Lambert tells Fisher his daughter was dead and Fisher getting into jail. That moment made me cry haha
Definitely a top 3 candidate. Great plot in Double Agent
We all know that, but back in the day when the game was brand new nobody knew she was still alive,
+Greedy Breedy Bread I agree. The end of that level definitely made me emotional too
Matt Marcum I know that feel bro
the best splinter cell is chaos theory i like the levels lighthouse, cargo and bank mcas.
I've played this game series since 2003 but i was almost an child (13) at that time to understand the whole genius of the plot.
I never aknowledge the very dark and mature content of splinter cell.
Thanks to this video i will play some of the old games again!
The mission in North Korea in Chaos Theory was pretty epic...
The music was the best part
The god damn control centre room. Damn. Completing that as a total ghost is a bloody challenge.
This nice mission is good and the banco of panama after the barco maria narccisa
I like the penthouse soundtrack
The Bank Mission is my favorite. So much so that it was my first Expert Mission I played and achieved 100% Stealth on.
I'm huge fan of the splinter cell franchise. This is awesome. Can not wait for the next installment of this game.
DWC10377 Yeah, can't wait too :))
Still waiting ⏳⏳⏳
Didn’t even get announced this year
4:02 - having heard the music start , I now know I am going to replay this.
that was a very nice top ten list, bro. is so satisfying.
i love blacklist takedown animations was soooo badass,i wish they bring it to the next splinter cell, i💗 sam fisher😍
I’ve never played a lot of the Spohn your cell games. But I absolutely loved splinter cell conviction. That was my first exposure to splinter cell. It was nothing short of awesome. I have since gone on to play several others but conviction will always hold a special place in my heart.
Um HELLO? The scene in Conviction where Sam learns the truth about lambert?
Sooo ... a lot of people REALLY hate Conviction.
(plus, he stopped from making Third Echelon just another group who uses war an excuse why they say 'America must stop wars' or 'a war to end all wars', or 'This world must be controlled because it is too complicated and chaotic' ... to be fair, they are right but the actions how they execute this is wrong)
Oh, if i hear one more thing about Splinter Cell is better than MGS, leave. Just leave. And respect your elders (you know what i'm talking about)
Fuck off
Tintsa dude, it's just an opinion
metal gear solid and splinter cell are the 2 games that make stealth badass
Thank you for this piece of historical gold.
+Duspende :D
+Duspende As someone who has played every Splinter Cell game save for Conviction (Blacklist included) I'm not sure that I can totally agree with you. I do like the more fast paced feel of the newer games but you are right they are not quite as fun as the original games.
***** Conviction was terrible. Any long-time fan of Splinter Cell agrees to that. Conviction was a mistake.
I couldn't agree more on the Number 1 spot. I had chills throughout a lot of Conviction, but that moment alone made the entire game for me. I would have liked it more if the flashbacks on the walls dwelled on some of Sam's darker moments from the first 3 games though.
So many moments and memories, going through the comments and watching the video made me recall some awesome memories
One moment I really think it is funny and shows Fisher as we know it Is a scene in the last level of Pandora Tomorrow when Sam is in the elevator and when it suddenly stops Lambert says 'The elevator just stopped' or something along this line And Fisher just answers with his sarcastic voice 'Thanks Lambert' The all thing is about 5 seconds But it always brought me joy
Cheers to everyone!
Your number 1 is no doubt one of the most badass scenes in Splinter Cell.
Loved this list with the exception of #1. When Sam learned his daughter wasn't killed and he was used by Lambert and Grimm. Never saw that coming.
Like how the character portraying Sadiq is also Morris from CTU in 24. Such irony.
TunezCottage Yeah, cool you noticed. I used to be obsessed with 24
***** I am currently, it's a great show to say the least.
SLYMEERKAT Yeah, Chaos Theory was my favorite, but then Blacklist came along :) Now I can't make up my mind which one is better! :))
Oh my god, i know right? :D
I am just happy they actually did go back to form with Blacklist with the ability to move bodies and such..... I am currently playing Blacklist at this moment actually.
Best gaming franchise ever. I love these games
Keith Petitdemange I think we're on the same page :)
thats you're opinion
the second best moment was in chaos theory cut scene when Sam sneaks up behind the north korean guard and silently snap his neck....coooool.
What about the ending to Double Agent? When he slits the other agent's neck and walks away? That was awesome
Sepehr Az
Retired middle aged agent starts beating people up looking for his daughter. Remind you of a film?
Also what are you talking about?! ever seen the West Wing? Most political show you can find, also insanely hilarious. Either way Conviction is not political, its a "personal revenge story", another cliche and excuse to have over-the-top emotional voice acting. The original three however were political.
Sepehr Az
Ok so I now have no idea what you're talking about, so will assume you're a troll...
I know it's not technically canon, but I love the animations where Sam is hanging from a pipe, lowers himself upside down, and slices an enemy's throat. I always thought that was just so freaking cool.
I never thought a man named Samuel could be so badass.
Great vid mate, you've got me dusting off the xbox to play them all through again. Cheers
I grew up with this game. Didn't even realize when I became a MGS fan, but man nostalgia's hitting me like Truck-kun.
Great job. #1 is on point.
The very end of double agent when Sam knocked out a swat team member , steals his gear and has it out with the terrorists on the boat in the NY harbor was my fav
Ending of Conviction was the best: " - He said: I love you like a brother. ... Brother, that's family right?" - The alarm goes off and we hear shooting (epicness overload)
i love the quote" Medals dont help me sleep" for some reason
Solid list. I particularly loved the bank heist in Chaos Theory. So many different and cool ways to rob a bank.
Lol!! " If you have to kill me, do it with your blowpipe."
Killed by a ninja! Cool!
HUGE fan of the series as well
Nick Waterford Nice to read your opinion. Thank you for sharing it. It is an awesome moment indeed.
Chaos Theory, on Expert using Stealth Mode is one of my all-time favorite games.
Ive played the majority of them Including the psp version and conviction was my favorite. Story was super dope and the vibe was amazing.
