Gaius and Radahn perfect? I think Radahn is fine but come on. The dlc lore is great in a vacuum. Outside and stuff like miquella pre-dlc becomes a mess, his plans has so many holes in it, you have to make so many leaps to make it even slighly comprehensive. Messmer with nothing in the base game, despite literally being present until after the liurnian wars, big stretch. The number of oversights like the sentry torch. 30-40% of land is bare, though with half of that its delberate.

Nothing will ever be worse than frigid outskirts, I have never EVER wanted to cry while playing these games except for when I realized I’d be fighting THE SAME BOSS FROM EARLIER but now there are two and I see even less.
At least ashes of ariendel had some badass new weapons, cool new npc characters, and Friede(which imo is the best duo fight since O&S)

While Erdtree is in my opinion the best, The Old Hunters was my original favorite and I agree with your takes about it here. Erdtree does just expand Elden Ring while The Old Hunters raises a great FS game to masterpiece status. Totally justified having it at number one.
    My ranking is:
    1) Shadow of the Erdtree
    2) The Old Hunters
    3) The Ringed City
    4) Artorias of the Abyss
    5) Crown of the Iron King
    6) Ashes of Ariandel
    7) Crown of the Ivory King (objectively, this is the worst, but I just ignore Frigid Outskirts every time now and have a far better experience for it)

I think the biggest accomplishment of SOTE i making the world itself into a legacy dungeon, basically every area is connected to the starting area or scadu altus and you have to gain the access to the them by exploring, you can't just walk in like in the majority of the base game

I don’t get the shadow of the Erdtree complaint that it didn’t improve much on the base game:
    1. That’s not a complaint about the DLC. If the base game was a 10/10 for you, and the DLC was also a 10, then cool; it’s a great DLC. If you have a perfect or near perfect game, isn’t it a resounding success to make 30 hours of more perfect content for it?
    2. It did improve on the base game imo. Deflecting hardtear transformed my whole play style and encouraged me to do an NG+ run. Some of the weapons in there were great. The boss quality and OSTs were through the roof and a big improvement over base game imo. Granted, looking back the legacy dungeons were just slightly underwhelming and I was hoping for a second legacy dungeon on the level of a Farum Azula or Volcano Manor, to go along Shadowkeep which was instant S-tier. And this may be what puts Old Hunters over it for me.

Big surprise, someone on the internet who won't give DS2 a fair pass.
Ariendel is smaller, has one worthwhile boss (2 bosses plus a reskin is better than just 2) and a massive part of its map is a wasted bonus area. And it was more expensive than the DS2 DLC areas. The level design of Ariendel is way worse than the DS2 maps, also, all three of which have a unique feel with interesting mechanics to reward exploration.
Also, I like how you complain that that the DS2 areas aren't big enough (did you seriously compare to SotET????) but then get mad at Eleum Loyce for having too much content. BTW, the DLCs aren't much smaller than the DS1 and DS3 DLC.

Old hunters carries Bloodborne so hard and people barely notice. The second half of BB base game is almost entirely mediocre or just bad (except Castle Canehurst which is probably the best in base BB). From the forbidden woods onward level are either tiny with barely anything (Byrgenwerth/ the study hall nightmare), or drawn out and packed with annoying enemies ( forbidden woods, yarhalgoul, most of mensis). In terms of bosses it’s worse. Only two bosses are generally considered good, Gherman and logarius. The rest consist of Rom, Micolash and TOR which are all awful. Mergos wet nurse is better than the rest but still a underwhelming fight given all the build up. If that sounded like a lot of negativity it’s because it was. BB suffers from the second half downfall the way Dark Souls 1 does. People just blank on it because the old Hunters exists and most people go there either right after Amelia or Rom, so by the time they come back to base game they steamroll their way to Gherman without much thought. My point is that Old Hunter is so good that it gives player amnesia and makes them forget about the bad parts so BB just seems like a perfect experience from start to finish.

I actually like all the areas other than Mensis, second half of the woods and the swamp in nightmare frontier, but bosses like Rom, the One Reborn and Micolash really hurt the game’s pace (tho tbh I think Bloodborne’s base game bosses are very overrated anyway). The Old Hunters really elevated Bloodborne to legendary status.

    Very respectable ranking.
In my opinion Ashes of Ariandel is the worst DLC, not only because it is very bare content wise(2.5 hours), but because the content, except Friede, is very uninteresting. And cost the same as Ringed City, which is a travesty knowing the difference on both quality and quantity they have.

For me its Ringed City above SOTE because of rhe Finale. Gael is still my favourite boss in every game I've ever played, and not just the fight itself but the leadup and change of the environment when we face him. I sometimes play through the entirety of DS3 just to fight Gael again. In SOTE the leadup is crazy good with enir illim but I just hate fighting radahn. It doesnt feel nearly as rewarding but more like a chore I have to do. Maybe this would change if Messmer is the final boss with all the leadup being in the Keep instead of enir illim because he feels close to as fun to fight as Gael for me. Easy 2nd Place in the Series for me

8: Old Iron King: Enemies were boring and visuals. . . existed? outside of Fume Knight it was just really not fun
7: Sunken King: At least it looked cool.
6: Ivory King: Peak atmosphere, solid enemies, and Burned Ivory King is by far my favorite part of DS2
5: Ashes of Ariendel, I wish empty ruins and empty village had something to do, because 2 more hours and 1 more boss was all Ashes needed
4: AOTA: Really fun, kinda short (also Santuary Guardian > Manus and Calameet, feel free to hate me)
3: Old Hunters: IMO Old Hunted is *level wise* good, but not extroidinary, and three peak bosses Is only enough for third place.
2: SoTE, From's most expensive and biggest expansion, but outside of Midra, Bayle, and Messmer, It's just on par, if not falling behind the base game, and a lot of it feels rushed.
1: Ringed City: Two awesome areas, 3 awesome'r bosses, stunning visuals, and ringed knights existing, what more could I want.

My top pick is probably SotE, but I understand why you picked OH. They are very close and that TV show/Movie analogy was actually very interesting to me. I love the complete package OH provides, but the sheer beauty and intricate fascinating world they crafted with Elden Ring puts it in first for me. The DLC is filled with so many new options to add to RPG freedom and some of the most exciting exploration I've had in a videogame. The soundtrack, areas, bosses, new gear and new characters are so amazing and its actually so impressive how good they are considering the quantity of them as well. OH bosses added a lot of character that many base game fights missed while ER already had that with some of the most complex characters in the series. Your point about OH defining Bloodborne is spot on. I love every moment of OH, just to varying degrees. I could say the only real downsides for SotE are either part of the identity of an open world or fights like Romina lacking build-up and being a little confusing. On the other hand the build-up to Messmer, Midra, Bayle, Lion and Radahn are top notch. Also I loved Belurat and Enir Ilim personally. I thought the connection between them is super cool and some of the most beautiful and visually detailed areas they've ever done. So much character and Belurat has my favourite area theme music. Also the ties to the tower of Babel and the lore significance of it all is so cool.
This was a really good video and entertaining to watch. Good job.
EDIT: Spelling and grammar atrocities were committed.

Yeah SOTE is better than Old Hunters, but I can see where you’re coming from, it only shows how peak base game Elden Ring was & I think so many people took that quality & quantity for granted, it almost feels as though Elden Ring didn't need a DLC even, its effect to Elden Ring hasn’t been as defining as Old Hunters to Bloodborne. My rankings are as follows:
    1. Shadow of the Erdtree.

I do agree with what are you saying, but personally, I do disagree in the ranking of the top 2.
What I mean, it's true that Bloodborne DLC gives to the game way more than Elden Ring DLC does with its base game. Like, playing bloodborne without dlc, can be compared to playing only shura ending on sekiro, missing all the endgame top tier areas, and one of the best, if not the best, boss fromsoftware has ever made. It's really like this, bloodborne dlc has by far the best content of bloodborne, by miles.
On the other hand, if you play Elden Ring, and miss only the dlc, I'd say you lost some top tier content, but it's like you got the 80% of the experience, you got an almost full experience of the game. So Old Hunters dlc gives to the game way more. With this I do totally agree.
The part that I personally disagree on is the ranking. Because if you are ranking the dlcs, you should take the content they offer, and should not be affected on how good the base game is. With this in mind, I think shadow of the erdtree is the dlc that gave me the most, in term of quantity but also quality. I mean, I loved every great boss from bloodborne dlc, orphan of kos probably my favourite, a true real beast crushing you over and over again. The areas and ost were top tier too, true masterpiece.
But that feeling I got entring for the first time the shadow realm.
This big desolated land, full of graves and silence.
The furnace golem in distance, bringin terror and destruction with each step.
The run up to the peak of Bayle, with Igon's search for veangence.
The true horror of Midra's woods.
The fights inside belurat, enri's castle and the shadow keep, with Mesmer's depression and hatred at the end.
The jungle and maze of Romina's area.
The story of S.Trina and all the npc quests and stories.
The climax of enri-ilim, where you climb up to fight against a true GOD, like the last area of Lies of P builds up, where you feel like climbing up the tower of babylon and getting in contact with gods.
Nha if I have to rank the dlc, based on what it gave me over what it gave to the game, SOTE get the first spot.
Old Hunters and Ringed City dlc are on par for 2 and 3 place, maybe old hunter slightly above, but not much.
Artorias dlc a little below those 2, only because of the limit of the game, even if it was the base for everything we got.
Lastly ariandel, that if you take out Frieda, loses like a 50% of the dlc true content (I loved frieda btw, top tier fromsoft boss).
I didn't rank dark souls 2 dlc because I haven't played dark souls 2 at all, gotta play it in the future.

Makes you speculate on how Sekiro would be remembered if it had DLC; the base game is tuned to perfection but just needed a bit more; I’m sure people would more readily place it as their favorites if it did

Ashes of ariendele too high, SOTE to high, ringed city way too low. I dont even know how its a contest for number one??? Same with ds1 dlc not being higher with how iconic it is. Maybe in a few years we will see about SOTE but while it has some high highs there is just too much if it thats really boring(most of the non-boss content) that makes me never want to play it again.

If you had to rank the DLCs based on their best moment, would the ranking change? The reason I ask this is because obviously, the Dark Souls 2 DLCs get dragged down a lot for various reasons, but they also have some great boss fights and lore revelations- it's just buried under a large pile of bullshittery. Or even Ashes of Ariandel being so short and the optional boss being extremely underwhelming is what usually brings it down a lot in most people's lists.

I would agree, but I would switch 4th and 3rd, 2nd and 1st. Old hunters is amazing, but the biggest issue with it (and bloodborne as awhole) is that it is boring. It lacks diversity, every place pretty much feels the same (dark, murky, depressing, visually unappealing), compared to something like Elden Ring which has much more visually appealing areas, has quite a lot of diversity. That being said, the boss line up of the old hunters is almost perfect, compared to SotE’s average boss rating maybe something like A or B.

You guys weren’t there! The hype of DLC 1 and how people explored every inch.
Never had we seen PvP explode so much thanks to the introduction of arenas!
And the Stories are united. You finished DLC 1 and the lady spoke of Gael.
Many months later DLC2 dropped and you were greeted with Gael’s signs.
People just blindly start DLCs now. But back then those details mattered.

Hot take: I don't like the new Elden Ring DLC that much. I think's overrated. Legacy Dungeons didn't blow me away, the open world feels so sparse and empty, and the loot rewards are terrible, I don't particularly like most of the bosses, and I thought the story/lore decisions with Miquella/Radahn and all that were a huge mistake. I don't really understand the praise it is getting because it's the ONE DLC in the series that I actually think makes the base game worse. It detracts from Elden Ring as a game, unlike the others, which either improved the base game, or did nothing for it.
