My only complaint with them is that they don’t quite go as loud as I would like at times. I am an old school metal head and these just don’t go super loud. Still, great sound and very comfortable.
Noise cancelling is designed to give you the option to listen to your music regardless of your environment without raising the volume to a dangerous level. As a metalhead audiophile I appreciate having no additional hearing damage besides my exessive motorcycling.
Loving mine, picked up a pair out here in Dubai as I’m on vacation and couldn’t get one for love or money back in the uk. Saved myself a few £ as well. But yes these headphones are beyond awesome. Compared to the Bose QC35s they totally blow away the Bose. Sound wise?? Much nicer than the Bose.

Yas Malik got them for £273 on amazon uk. ( was a prime members offer for 10min, went back to original price straight away after my order) Had to wait 3 weeks between order and delivery. Absolutely chuffed. Great cans especially on train commute into London!
Samar Pankanti nice one, I had a look on amazon a couple of weeks back but they weren’t £330 and a 3mth delivery time. I’m also a prime member but couldn’t see them any cheaper. Never mind like I said awesome headphones, glad I chose them over the Bose. On the way back from Dubai I used them and everything was so quiet. Had a screaming kid in front of me and the headphones just blocked him out pretty much, could still hear him but not as bad as without the headphones.
Thanks for your review. After reading and watching many other reviews I went with the Sony XM3 over the Bose QC35. I tested both at two local stores before making my decision. For me, the XM3 perform and look better than the Bose. I didn’t like the buttons on the Bose, compared to the cleaner, simpler look of the XM3. Yes, Bose sound quality was slightly better (for my ears) but felt like it lacked bass for some of my songs. Don’t get me wrong, sound quality wise, Bose is much clearer than Sony. But, and here’s my deciding point, ANC on the Sony just blows my mind. It is awesome. In my personal opinion, based on my testing at different stores with different ambient noise, the XM3 beat Bose QC35 hands down. So, if what you are looking for is the best pair of wireless headphones with a quick charge time, clean design, awesome ANC and bass, go with the Sony XM3. If you are more into clearer, cleaner, more balanced sound and willing to compromise on ANC, outdated charging port and a couple more buttons, then Bose QC35 is what you need. Both headphones are great at this price point, so if comes down to personal preference.
Ok so is the sound quality better than the newest bose ones? I've been reading so many individual reviews on both the sony and the bose, as well as comparisons of the two but I'm still so lost! I'm leaning more towards the sony though because of the features. Anyone wanna persuade me in either direction?
The bose headphones are extremely comfortable. I wear them all day and don’t feel any discomfort. You will feel ear fatigue, discomfort with sony, skullcandy and beats (these are the ones I have used).

Hi, just for few hours I am using my new wh1000xm3. Updated to latest firmware 4.1.1. but disappointed on noise cancellation feature. In my bed room I can hear the fan speed sound or my wife's voice(low but audible) even when noise cancellation is on. where as per your video nothing is audible on the streets or any public place then how could it be possible in a room? Am I missing something as a new user? Kindly help.
Hi I was considering getting these headphones but have heard complaints the plastic creaks after only a few months of use due to build quality is that true?
Hello Mark , is there cabin pressure in these while nc is on like bose qc35? I couldn't handle bose nc for more than 5 mins . So is the sound in these enough to buy them if I will turn off the nc ? And I don't care about all these all these features and touch controls .
Hey! I JUST released a new video showing off exactly what the noise cancelling sounds like on a loud aircraft. Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/BfY8JFgtjIU/w-d-xo.html
I’m super close to buying these myself but I have a question. I understand you can only have one device connected at a time, but are you able to save different devices? If I wanted to switch from my iPhone to MacBook, how annoying would that be?
I don't find it annoying. Perhaps inconvenient is a better word to use. The devices you've used the headphones with before should have saved the headphones as a paired device, so all you have to do is go into that device and select pair on the headphones. I routinely do it with my laptop, phone, and desktop pc.
my last pair of Bose sound link were convenient because I would just slide the bluetooth button and it would change my device, HOW EVER.....being able to have two devices connected simultaneously would get irritating at times. Is there no button on the Sonys to cycle through saved devices? @@MarkSpurrell
I have acetate glasses that I wear all the time with bose qc15s. I can’t wear them for more than an hour or so. If you have tried them, are these Sonys noticeably more comfortable?
Can someone share his/her view about using it while glasses are on? Used to have beats but I was feeling uncomfortable while using a couple of hours with my glasses on
Haha Sony coming out of nowhere and killing it! I'm trying them out after the Bose QCi. They broke down on it after like ~1 year but luckily I bought warranty. I feel Sony will have better reliability!
Hey guys, anyone experiencing low volume with these Headphones? i want to buy them but then i went to try it and they seem to such lower max volume than Bose and Beats, is it normal?
@@keveshannaidoo5670 well I'm no audiophile, but it's great for me and you can beef up the base if you like in the sound settings on your phones app, I have it at normal setting and works for me.
I was thinking about this for Sound Design and Music as well as general use. Is it flat when powered off and wired? Most of my older ones function like that
I've had both...the NC, sound quality and comfort of the xm3's are noticeably better. Using LDAC on Android sounds excellent. Xm2's looked and felt more premium to me but that's about it.
The have a little stronger bass than the Bose and a little better noise canceling with a quick aware feature. Other than those 3 Bose qc35 got them beat in everything else. 1. Sound sharing (two people can watch the same video with different headphones). 2. Dual connection (have more than one device connected). 3. More comfortable and less hot 4. Notification of battery and which devices are connected. 5. Way better mic call quality Note: AAC >>>all other codecs when the source is AAC.
Bose sound like garbage though. Mushy mid, murderous bass. Imaging is trash and no sound stage. Xm1000 actually sound ok. Basicly 1A with no sound stage.
I agree, if those features are the deal-breakers for you (instead of sound quality, soundstage customization, ANC), you go for Bose. Bose headphone has 'comfort' in its name, so clearly that is where they are trying to excel. For me, the Sony app and customization was really the dealbreaker, couldn't go back to Bose.
Honestly, if money isn't an issue the Skullcandy Crushers aren't even in the same league as the XM3's. The XM3's are lighter, have way more features (including ANC), and are charged by USB-C. The crushers are good on a budget, but shouldn't be compared to Sony's flagship headphones.
ANC is phenomenal, they are surprisingly small (being used to big headphones) and plasticy and they don't sound particularly great. Satisfies my noise cancelling needs but it takes getting used to to not be bothered by the mediocre sound quality. I secretly wished i'd get good noise cancelling _and_ good portable headphones in one package with these but i suppose that's still too much to ask, at least i got good noise cancelling phones.
Is it just me or do all these reviewers simply say the same thing for the M1's, M2's, and M3's as they all have the same functionality. It's tough reviewing a "new" product when its essentially the same damn headphone with the exception of improved NC
I like these except they don't sound nearly as good as my Vmoda Crossfade 2 wireless codex edition. I went into the app and tuned the eq and everything but I didn't get the same quality I do from my Vmoda's. The Vmoda's sound a bit cleaner and have a wider sound stage. It also makes sense though because the Vmoda's have a different purpose than those do and they are in fact audiophile headphones
I prefer the Sony's, but here's a very detailed comparison of the two: www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/bose-quietcomfort-35-ii-vs-sony-wh-1000xm3/565/678
thanks for your answer. I checked it out. I just bought the XM2 because of a lower price 239 Euros instead of 379 Euros for the xm3. Was it a good idea, or would you recommend the Bose qc35ii instead (300 Euros)? Thanks and keep going. I subbed you
Thanks! The XM2's are similar but with a little less features and worse noise cancelling. There's also some reports of the headbands cracking, so be careful. I think the Boses would have been a little better, but they are more expensive.
I went to a local market and took a look at the xm2... There was a crack xD... Ok new Idea.. PCX 550 (sennheiser 250 Euros) or the bose ? what do you think? Thanks Mark

Nice review, do they work well with an iphone X or do you need an Android phone?
Joakim Tollerud yes they will I just bought mine today waiting for them to ship on Thursday I bought them for my iPhone XS max
Joakim Tollerud I use with my iPhone X they work great
Stephen Knight thx! Hope for a massive deal on BF. 🙄
Do you know if Sony will come out with a new pair that has Bluetooth 5.0
How's the sound leakage? Can people around you hear what your listening to?
Hi Sir, I'm planning to buy this for my office home base work. Can you please verify or try if it has a mute button for calls. Thanks Sir. Looking forward for your response.
As far as I know, there is no mute button or touch control for muting calls.
Do they leak alot of sound? And if so at what volume does it start. I dont want people to be able to hear clear what im listening to. Please respond!
No
Will it connect with devices having 4.1 Bluetooth??
What do you mean call quality isn't that great? Does it not pick up your voice while you're on a call? Can you elaborate?
Hi, just for few hours I am using my new wh1000xm3. Updated to latest firmware 4.1.1. but disappointed on noise cancellation feature. In my bed room I can hear the fan speed sound or my wife's voice(low but audible) even when noise cancellation is on. where as per your video nothing is audible on the streets or any public place then how could it be possible in a room? Am I missing something as a new user? Kindly help.
Hi I was considering getting these headphones but have heard complaints the plastic creaks after only a few months of use due to build quality is that true?
No, it’s not. After a few days.
@@minggthemerciless Unfortunately not. One of the downsides of the 1000xm3's.
I have acetate glasses that I wear all the time with bose qc15s. I can’t wear them for more than an hour or so. If you have tried them, are these Sonys noticeably more comfortable?
I bought this for my kid and he went nuts. This headphone rocks!
2:33 never see any tech reviewer with this demonstration before :0
You haven't been to Jimsreviewroom then. Go check him out.
Can someone share his/her view about using it while glasses are on? Used to have beats but I was feeling uncomfortable while using a couple of hours with my glasses on
how big are the earpads? can someone tell me i dont know if i want to buy this if it doesnt fit my huge ear :(
I have decently large ears and they fit me just fine!
@@MarkSpurrell iv tried the headphones but were REALLY uncomfortable went with the bose :p thanks tho for the quick reply
could we charge xm3 via electirc wall outlet using wall adapter charger?
Haha Sony coming out of nowhere and killing it! I'm trying them out after the Bose QCi. They broke down on it after like ~1 year but luckily I bought warranty. I feel Sony will have better reliability!
Just got mine today! Got myself a bday gift!
Tenshi's Kiss plus they were on sale to
Does the noise cancelling works when plugged in to 3.5mm?
Yes, as long as the headphone is turned on.
@@johnmarkpamittan101 thanks!
Hey guys, anyone experiencing low volume with these Headphones? i want to buy them but then i went to try it and they seem to such lower max volume than Bose and Beats, is it normal?
Just got them....massively impressed!!
Glad you like them Jason!
How's the sound quality and bass compared to other headphones
@@keveshannaidoo5670 well I'm no audiophile, but it's great for me and you can beef up the base if you like in the sound settings on your phones app, I have it at normal setting and works for me.
Just bought mine on E-bay. Can’t wait to get them....
E Begger it’s fake
I was thinking about this for Sound Design and Music as well as general use. Is it flat when powered off and wired? Most of my older ones function like that
Hi, i just got my xm3. How many hours will this last with movies? Still 30 hours?
I do see why the battery will last shorter with movies, maybe longer depending of the sources quality
Are they aptx or low latency when watching videos on tv etc? Thanks
is it still comfortable using headphones when using glasses?
I wear glasses and I don't find them uncomfortable.
did you ever try the xm2 as one reviewer is saying xm2 is better noise canceling.
3. More comfortable and less hot
4. Notification of battery and which devices are connected.
5. Way better mic call quality
Note: AAC >>>all other codecs when the source is AAC.
Bose sound like garbage though. Mushy mid, murderous bass. Imaging is trash and no sound stage. Xm1000 actually sound ok. Basicly 1A with no sound stage.
h1a8 I could not agree more. The big draw back for me is how these Sony’s heat up compared to my Bose.
Tbh it would good in winter. The Sonys will keep your ear warm!
Should I get these or crusher wireless? Disregard the money gap.
Mark Spurrell thank you for the opinion. One step closer to making a decision.
You're very welcome!
Well now I’m watching with them on and they are very good
me too...
How long would it take to fully charge the headphones?
How bad is call quality?
Scott Havertz -it’s pretty bad
Plz answer are they comfy with glasses?
Yes they are.
Does anyone know how to boost the ambient sound so they can be used as hearing aids?
Are you able to connect an in line mic to improve voice calls?
Nice, succinct vid, thanks. Subscribed and I will buy a set of these headphones.
Thanks Pete!
I had the 1000X and the X M2 ... Can't wait to get the X M3
Will these be on sale for black Friday or any Christmas deals?
doubt it since they are new
nice Vid! Is it better than the Bose qc35ii? Greetings from Germany
Thanks Mark
Bose.
Xm3 not mx3
But fire review🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi guys
I have a prombem
So I have OnePlus 6 and I'm going to buy those headphones. I wanted to change my Bluetooth codec to ldac but it doesn't work. I went to developer options and I found the place where you can change those codecs. But...
When I'm trying to change it, and press ldac it doesn't do anything. It just stays default. It doesn't matter how many times I try. Can someone help me with that problem, please?
I am Sorry to hear this. I bought onePlus one and now got 256GB s9+ because of this reason. Wireless display doesn't work on OnePlus at that time, Also many small but useful features and codex missing on OnePlus.. Yes you can root and do what ever you want.. but I don't have time to waste on those DIY stuff. Now I am happy with Samsung.. LDAC, Dual audio , many Codex, good display, multi window , ultra power saving etc.. So better you should ask this on XDA developer forums , someone should already got a fix for your problem for sure.
Have the XM2 for now and they are still epic.
Have had money for just over a year.
Best headphones I've had
PERIOD.
But I'll be getting the XM3's soon....

Are the WH-XB900N headphones just as good or almost just as good?
How is the bass on these? I’m a bass freak 😅
Very good actually. It's a little exaggerated.
Mark Spurrell Thanks 🙏
Randy Ramnanan If you want bass then go with sony's mdr950n
Are they super loud at highest volume?
They get pretty loud at max volume. Uncomfortably loud for me. But I wouldn't say they are super loud.
Mark Spurrell Hey I appreciate the reply man! Got yourself a subscriber :)
Thanks!
